  • 1 dislike ...somebody is a grouchy pants

  • My brother played music with Andre in high school and kept in touch with him regularly until his death. When I became a musician and songwriter, this is the quality of music I had as mentorship. Rachel has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard in my entire life...thanks for sharing.

  • Wow bring back the good music years

  • CANO is playing live in STURGEON FALLS, Ontario tomorow night for the St-Jean Baptiste Festival! It's nice to see great musicians live on! Vive la Francophonie!

  • I can't believe I found this... I grew up listening to Cano, Robert Paquette..Harmonium...Boulle Noir... I recall Cano playing at our high school in Sudbury (ESFJ) I also recall their concert at TNO I think...

    Thank you for posting...

  • I miss my CANO very much. I loved the way they presented Frere Jacques. I sang it their way to my kids all the time.

  • I recall having all the CANO LPs, even though I don't speak french. Beautiful sounds... It looks like they are available on iTunes now, although they are hard to find unless you go their website and follow the links from there. CDs seem quite hard to find.

  • I listened to this album In my native Edmonton Alberta and as a Francophone it resounded loud and strong. I've been looking for the song that has the lyrics : L'eau qui coule dans mes veines, c'est l'eau de la vie... Anyone recognize it?

  • Great voice, great song, great band... Why did you cut the song in half ?

  • Wow, I still remember the first place I heard this...lucky for me it was walking into work and they were rehearsing...what a treat it was to work at the Engine Shed that week! ;o

  • Rachel Paiment's voice makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. So beautiful, it's powerful and subtle at the same time.

  • A very vibrant time in Sudbury and also for Franco-Ontarians. My uncle from Verner taught André in Sturgeon Falls. I went to school with Mike Dasti. I found a place that sold all their albums in CD form and bought the lot. We need something like this again to solidify "La francophonie" in Ontario.

I am in south western Ontario now and when I play CANO it brings me right back home.

  • @thedeepend01 Hi! I been surchig for cd of Cano and never find them in Montréal. Would you know where I could order them? Thank you very much, I will be so happy to share my love of Cano with young musician who does'nt have a clue of Whom Cano was and is in our hearth..

  • WOW Merci!

  • I want more!!!

I miss my parents cd....yes they do have a cd out!! I'm sure they have have the old cassette's laying around tho!

  • Merci !!!

  • Incidentally, CANO's seven albums are available on iTunes (in case you'd prefer that to a purchased CD).

    Phenomenal band!

  • La belle et magnifique Rachel Paiement!

    Cette chanson est leur meilleure!

  • Elle m'as toujours donnée les frisons quand elle chante!

  • what do you mean, 'of all places, Sudbury? Thanks for posting this, CANO was my favorite band in highschool.

  • My apologies. No disrespect to Sudbury. I always thought of Sudbury as kind of a Hard Rock Miners kind of town. I wouldn't have expected a so called mining town to produce such beautiful music. But perceptions can be deceiving. People think of my town as nothing but a blue collar steel town Hamilton that is but it produced Crowbar and Teenage Head. ok Teenage Head kind of fits the persona But you were indeed lucky to be from Sudbury at the time when this amazing band was happening.

  • It's in a place of hardship that artists are hardest at work. That said, the Paiements are from Sturgeon Falls originally though the group assembled around l'Université de Sudbury and Le Collège du Sacré-Coeur in Sudbury.

  • Oddly enough there is a real connection between Rachel Paiement and Hamilton. She was in a band with Daniel Lanois as was Cano's lead guitarist (Burt).

  • @70sfusion they're from Sturgeon Falls, but some of them moved out to Sudbury afterwards

  • Thanks so much, Chuck. This was very kind of you. I'm going to get a copy and make sure I don't lose this one!

  • I am sooooo grateful. I had the cassette, lost it, and have been searching for many years for this beautiful work. A grown man in crying now. Thank you.

  • I'm glad you like this video. Cano really did some beautiful and innovative music, and of course, Rachel's voice was angelic. I'll send you a message with a web site where you can purchase Cano CDs. You can't add them in comments because they get labelled as spam.

  • They were a great group. They've come out with a greatest hits album that doesnt have either of my favourite songs Soleil Mon Chef and Invisible Man and sadly neither of those are available to buy or download on their website. Waah!

  • Soleil Mon chef and most of their catalogue is actually now available on Itunes.. sadly the Invisble album is not there yet...

  • Thank you for posting this; I hadn't heard this song since owning it in vinyl in the late 70's! Rachel Paiement's voice still sends shivers down my spine - so lovely.

  • i lived in field, ontario, 22km north of sturgeon falls for nearly ten years and i lived in sturgeon for a year. my ex knew the members of this group - he still misses them. if you know them, tell them to call gaston in field!

  • Saw them in '79. Whatever happened to this great band?

  • Very very unfortunately many of the died. Rumor has it that the lead singer André Paiement committed suicide when he was diagnosed with cancer rather than to live with it.

  • best franco-ontario band i have ever seen and heard in my life

  • that was very pleasent

  • Excedllent band, great bass player, handsome as heck!
