The "inventor" of gangsta rap used to sound so east coast.

This was his debut song. His next CD included 'Dear Mama' and 'so many tears'.

Not one of those songs have the kick-ass rhythms or dumb-ass lyrics of the west. Snoop and IceCube are sounding most east coast too. I'm from the LA area so I've got mixed feelings about this.

His music has more 'original' Blues influences than any other 'rapper' to date. blues-->reggea-->singjay (toasting)-->Rap ( by then the music had no 'soul' but was the same spoken words as toast just no soul) except for few rappers like tupac who admired what really made Blues BLUES!!.

@davekeays Pac wasn't a gangtsa rapper. And that wasn't his next CD. That was 4 years later. And I thought that a lot Pac's songs (even Pre-Death Row) had pretty funky beats and West Coast lyrics. Like Strictly 4 My Niggaz, I Get Around, Young Niggaz, I'm Gettin' Money (Original) etc...
