  • black & white for easier siting of the differences . I AM NOT A RASCIST :)

  • gay

  • Would this work on someone twice your size?

  • @nlemosfarms nothing works on someone 2x your size - unless you have been on the mat for years.

  • He looks like a jacked version of michaeal jordan

  • Real good shit. Have to incorporate that into the arsenal. I wonder who'd win between Gholar and Cormier in a wrestling match & an MMA fight?

  • cool

  • Do you guys know where I can download free martial arts instructional videos

  • this is so gay

  • my form of martial arts involves some sand/mace (great for blinding) and a swift kick in the gonads. maby if you are lucky i will give you the 3 stooges poke right in your eye sockets. nuk nuk nuk

  • I own two of his dvds. Golar is a good instructor. Great techniques.

  • would it matter if u put your other leg against him so you can finish in a leg ride?

  • who's the shirtless guy? he's hot.

  • greta instruction...learned something new

  • what is vale tudo fighting ? this is the first ive heard of this !

  • @urdsi123 vale tudo is protugese/brazilian for anything goes, no holds barret.

means freefight. The way it was in Brasil were really few rules, no check on clipped nails or anything. Look up some articles about the fight Rickson - Zulu if you want the exact rules or details on hoz it was practiced. The fight took place when r_Rickson was 18 if i'm not listaken

  • @urdsi123 Valetudo is pretty much a brazilian version of MMA, only much older and much more brutal, less rules and usually no gloves.

  • This video helped so much I took out my opponent in my fight fasttttt lol we where in it he was winning we stood back up I did that takedown and as he landed I sweeped my outside leg up caught his arm pulled it back reached in tucked and flipped and had the reverse omaplata (my favorite move to do :D ) ha ha first fight and shocked so many people with an odd move :)))))

  • If wrestling was paid as well as boxing Gholar would be a multimillionaire, Gholar was realy that good.

It sucks wrestling alone can not put butts on seats for dollar the same way Boxing and MMA can.

Wrestlers imo are among the most conditioned athletes in sport.

  • This is a sick takedown. This guy really breaks it down for you. I works good if you do it right step by step

  • you could almost do this from your back aswell...

  • This particular setup works very well if someone is going for your uniform gun...right or left hip, because they keep coming with their momentum. You're in a good spot to get a nelson control or rear choke on him then and you're out of the struggle. So much of vale tudo works good for security work. *****

  • nigger wat

  • Thanks, Great!!!

  • I have to try this move.

  • shak

  • What if he gets the thai clinch? Good stuff though.

  • You mean the Maui Thai Clinch? I see no point in the process here where he could get the grap. And there are many techniques for getting out.

  • Comment removed

  • No I meant MUAY THAI CLINCH. Please dont try and answer my questions directed at the instructor. Have a great day

  • Give me a time where he could have gotten the guy in the Muay Thai Clinch. Just type in on youtube, how to get out of the muay thai clinch. It's not something you can answer in text.

  • Since you're so insistant on me answering you, i'll first explain my original question. I meant to ask how to transition this into a thai clinch defense? and i have been swimming to get out of the muay thai clinch and its been quite effective unless its against a thai expert. what else would you like explained? Showing you on the mat would be more satisfying, but this is you tube so this will have to do.

  • @courtneymccaw I love maui thais, especially with the umbrella!

  • tiiight

  • first instinct that comes to mind when someone grabs my right hand would be to sock you with the left, where you have no protection because you're using two limbs to hold down one of mine.

  • absolutely, was thinking the exact same thing, this doesnt take resistance, body weight, height or strength into consideration

  • your always going to have resistance and what not , but key to any method is practice

  • of course u do, if the sport would be just to know those moves that wouldnt make sense, u gotta set a person up for it, u gotta know when to use it, practice is the key just like u said, but practice as a whole sport all moves and sparings....

  • that doesn't matter with this - this is DGholar, an amazing wrestling teacher.

  • yesh but hes in the clinch when he grabs your hand though. and most fighters will eat a jab or two to get a takedown anyday of the week

  • Trust me, if that guy did that to you, you would get wrecked

  • Awesome way to catch a left hook in real life.

  • hahahaha my cousin tried to do that after watching this video and the other kid just kneed him in the stomach

or solar place thing hahhahhahhahhahhhahhahhahhhahhahhahhahahahahahahha !

  • then he didnt do it fast enouph

  • that was a really good step by step

  • Do you guys know that Darrel Gholar was a contestant on the first season of the original run of American Gladiators?

  • Yeah I just seen him on ESPN Classic on American Gladiators so I googled his name. this came up lol this dude is bad ass

  • that was a great explantion

  • woah he looks like that basket ball guy

  • oh yeah that basketball guy! how clear can you get...sheesh

  • he's on the back patch comercial for sore muscles

  • Shaq?

  • yeah shaq

  • nice, and rampage has a diffrent build than this guy.

  • pitero

  • he looks like rampage jackson

  • All black people look alike to me to

  • all chinese people look alike to me :D

  • thats just like saying black people look the same man -_-

    they dont

  • yup... this is looking complicated...but it works in WUSHU fight...really good

  • im gonna have to try this takedown out

  • fail

  • As an athlete Gholar was a three time United States Greco-Roman National Champion, alternate on the 1988 Olympic team and captain of the 1986 U.S. World team. When the modern Olympics celebrated 100 years of competition in 1996, Gholar was ranked number three in career wins for the U.S. at the 180.5 weight class

  • @insertsloganhere maybe they have better things to do.

  • it is a form of martial art.. it originated in Rio De Janeiro..the gracies were involved with the vale tudo in the 60's onward.

  • @punk1401 vale tudo is just no rules fights... its the first MMA events

  • @punk1401 didnt the gracies make bjj?

  • well this one isnt too good but there are some that give you helpful ideas, in my opinon this move wouldnt work in mma

  • Ive watched these videos ane they have helped me out in different martial arts like Sambo

  • GREAT takedown, very good video, you do a great job explaining this move.

  • thisd is the most long drawn out tutorial,i'v ever seen ,this guy is quite borin,i'd leave his class ,just walk right out

  • ...and thats why you'll always suck as a martial artist. O wait, lemme guess, you're a black belt in BJJ right?

  • all my pupils dont think so ha!ha!.and keep the fuk out u dont know me ya fool,no sadly i'm not black belt bjj,but i teach mma,and its borin

  • you sound really arrogant, do you mean to come accross that way?

  • if my oppinions dont suit you it must be me thats arrogant,i sat and watched it patiently, but it too boring, and you are obviously gay to point this out,and i dont want to offend females,so the female side of you ,please accept my apology

  • rest my case, and keep beliveing that you are right and everyone who doesnt agree with you is wrong. hmm you like using the term gay dont you, probably are and dont have the balls to out, fuckhead :)

  • you rest your case, but still add on ha! so i'll not hear no more from you then,

  • why delete your comment? you were saying that you teach MMA right? lmao. get the fuck outta here.

  • i did'nt mean t delete, ya pussy clot, mite just post ya a link, let ya see one of my fighters ha!

  • Whats your name and what school do you run?

  • my first name is shut the fuck up,and my surname is ,go and bollox,if a respectful person wishes to get details off me,i'll even send em a link to watch a fighter of mine,

  • i'v jus seen yor profile, you only a kid , so i'm sorry for interacting in a slightly anti social ? manner,!(but you did start it,)i did'nt mean to offend,i jus thought it was too long winded for my taste,(this instructor on vid),but you win t.k.o.ha!

  • so...whats the name of your MMA school that you own?

  • go on there, where the fuck is your video?

  • That's not the point, the point being you claimed to be someone who 'teaches MMA' and said you will post videos to back up your words, and you have failed to do so, therefore people can assume you are full of shit :)

  • @mightyPants maybe they have better things to do.

  • this is a move people use in collegiate wrestling too

  • Comment removed

  • doesn't look like it would work very good but i will have to try it out

  • This is just my opinion, no disrespect toGholar intended.

It would be damn difficult to get into that position. an opponent with an iq higher than his height in cm would just twist and flip your hand away, bring his foot in at your leg level and bring you down.

But IF you ever find yourself in this position, this would be helpful :D

  • "twopinplug"

not trying to inuslt you or anything,i just whant to point something out....

having an IQ higher than your hight in cm is pretty damn high oO

considering that the average IQ is 100 and the average height is around 175 oO

someone with an IQ of 175 or more is a freaking genious oO

    well anyway,cheers! ^^

  • omg, haha, yeah. i'm stupid haha.

  • nah, maybe you just have an unusually high IQ ^^

  • Speaking for myself, I'm not five years old, you could have showed that technique in a quarter of the time.

  • With less detail. Detail is important.

  • The best tutorials are submissions 101 and they all last like one minute, detail is important but how many people are actually going to remember that technique, I certainly wont.

  • Then why the fuck are you even watching it. You may never use the technique, but you may still use the principles of it.

  • I said speaking for myself so its not any of your fucking business you prick.

  • Oh you should have mentioned I was talking to the king of comebacks.

  • DUDE as if you could make them keep their hand on your side unless your trying to defend yourself against a sloth :S

  • i dont like instructors like this the never cut to the chase

  • Yeah man, wtf is he taking so long for?

  • Y'all are fucking retarded, you can't expect to become great from a shitty 30 second video. Detail is the most important thing in any martial art. It's what defines a good fighter from a great fighter.

  • Watched those tapes a few years ago, they are very good

    Darell is badass

  • Craig Marduk?

  • i dont like this lesson at all, i mean u thro him off baalance, but then when he is kompletely down he is in a better position, like kollege wresting positions for example

  • Why do you replace your c's with k's?

  • But this isn't college wrestling. This is MMA. Having someones back is an extremely dominant position. They're susceptible to ground and pound, especially once you take their back and get your hooks in. And once you do do that there's also the option of chokes, armbars, etc.

  • having some one doggy style is quite dominant also, but to pin them down properly you need to penetrate deep.

u need to practice this shit to know what works for you, when you find out you need to keep practicing and perfect it, like bruce lee said use what is usefull.disregard what is useless, add specifically what is your own creation.

  • I don't entirely understand what you're trying too say, but it sounds like someone is a little bit uncomfortable with their sexuality.

  • as long as wot i said makes sense, the other part was just an example of different positions and how meaningless they are without actually applying them and making them your own.

  • I think I understand what you're trying to say.

My old message that you replied to was targeted at someone who said that having someones back wasn't a good position. I don't really care who you are, almost every mixed martial artist can be effective when they have someones back. It and mount are easily the most dominant positions to be in.

  • very true, if youve got someones back you do have many options open.

  • This ones a real good takedown technique but its really complicated, when your on the streets and things bout to pop off, you just don't have the time to do that!! Still a crazy takedown tho!!

  • Good takedown but too complicated..

  • once you lock up his shoulder you can perform a basic shoulder throw (judo). It hurts the guy more, looks better, you end up in a better position to pin or do whatever yo want to the other guy.

  • this is alot like something i have learned in wrestling. cool. now i can take wut i know from wrestlng and put it with this.

  • I am going to be taking mixed martial arts i just want to know some basics

  • im taking classes right now. i know a bit. wuts urs oriented around. mine is mainly a kickboxing class but i got a few wrestling takedowns and wutnot. and i know how to straddle someone when u see the guy doing "ground and pound" i know that. so if u want to ask how to properly straddle someone i can help.

  • he likes the belly swipping ;P just kidding

  • swipe the belly....

  • wow why dnt y00h just kick him in the nuts thats a perfect take down=)

  • You can't do that simply because you just aren't allowed to.

  • i hate getting dirty

  • its hard to even get to position like that in a match then trying to execute it

  • Erik,

In real situations, within 10 seconds, every fight goes to the ground. It's also a great way to disrupt your opponent.

  • i hat ground fighting. i dont get you people what did ya find in this stupid martial art.

  • you just dont get it, its really interesting and useful in street or "ring" fights.

  • Your supposed to be a cop? you should know whats truly effective besides cheap stuff like small joint manipulation. Don't knock the Jiu-jitsu man.

  • Martial arts for a cop is totally different from BJJ, as it should be...They have to train in weapon defences man...you cant even compare them, whats effective in one, is not effective in the other, and that applies to both, that's why a cop has a gun and a baton, and sometimes even a taser, their job isn't to fight unarmed.

  • most fights end up on the ground...

in which jujitsu would be very effective.

  • i jzt slam them on thr dome

  • too much talking and turning back and forth

  • stupid takedown

  • they have shaqs small twin brother giving lessons

  • i learned this tricep pull and arm swing in my bjj training...however i learned to go straight into a cross leg inside trip and fall into half guard instead of this..i like it

  • know what i mean?

his left leg is a little bit in the air...

for te guruma he just had to grap it::

  • Can this be used on a highschool or olympic style level of wrestling?

  • Yes, you should be able to.

  • OH, good. Thank you. I'm going to use this in my wrestling class then.

  • This is not Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This is a Greco-roman wrestling takedown. But Gholar teaches in Brazil.

  • Interesting. Cool.

  • Muay thai / and broan is good for me val..its ok...

  • I've been doing the french art 'Le Savate' for 3 years , They teach us some throws and takedowns , But this video is a hell lot better than what they teach us .

    All respect to Brazilian jujitsu.

  • How much does this thing cost? it seems like a Mxied Martial Arts Training Arm Im going to get one to train my kung fu at home

  • Does he move his front leg forward and pull?

  • nice

  • Holy hell its Daniel Moraes! the brazilian guy not the black guy. Hes a four time BJJ world champ, I've personally rolled with him dudes a phenom grappler.

  • i don't have audio is this jujutsu or vale tudo i'm a beginner in bjj and can't tell the difference

  • It can be used for both.

  • BJJ and Muay Thai is the best mix for MMA or Vale-Tudo.

  • i may be mistaken, but i believe he was a member and coach of bjj top team. he taught these things to guys like mario sperry, and murilo bustamante among others. seemed to work pretty good for those guys.

  • brazilian top team is what i meant to say.

  • hey! i didn't know shaq practices MMA!

  • nice armdrag.

um this isnt aikido so will people shut the kcuf up allready
