My understanding is that Mercury is not excreted by the body, so over time the accumulation will eventually rise to a toxic level. I heard that eating fish, which nearly always contains mercury, can be hazardous if it is eaten regularly over several years, I hope not, because I have eaten fish regularly over many years!! Therefore adding mercury to products is of no benifit to our health.
