was all sarcasm, except that i've been to a lava flow - It is extremely hot, and i was wearing a long sleeve at the time, i took my long sleeved off to be only wearing my singlet, very beautiful, anywho i was being silly before!

I went with someone experienced, and we started hiking in at 4:30 am, so we could see the glow coming from where the lava was flowing. The location of activity varies quite a bit. We tried earlier from the end of Chain of Craters road and hiked 5 miles in without reaching active flows. This video was taken when we hiked in from the other side, and found active flows less than 2 miles in.

im curious how you got so close. I only ask due to my bf and I walking from the end of chain of craters about 7-8 miles out, and almost stepping in (black) hot lava. I'm just assuming we did something wrong...*shrug*
