@TeemuKosonen erittäin hankala sanoa miksi näin :(. Uusin 0.9.x on joltain osin buginen. Itse kyllä tätä uusinta käytän koska ei ole maailmaani kaatavia ongelmia ilmennyt.

0.8.2 toimii kyllä erittäin hyvin eli jos et tarvitse uusia parannuksia niin suosittelen.

I have three questions:

1. What pen do you use?

2. Why don´t you use the pen you get with the n900?

I used to own a device with resistive screen, now I own an iPad. It's amazing how sensitive the iPad screen is but stuffs like this on the video can't be done. YET

@Martins2012 while i love my iphone 4 and ipod touch, i STILL CAN'T justify getting a GIANT IPOD TOUCH.

IPAD sucks, period. No flash support, nothing. Just a big giant ipod touch that looks too stupid to take out in public, and too big to carry around in your pocket. Give me one good reason and good use why ipad is great, and why or what i can do with it when i take it outside that i can't already do with any other devices. Other than holding it as a newspaper.

@LuvDoco Hello! I like N900 size very much.. maybe I am wrong person to answer about bulky thing.. because my previous phone was Nokia N90. Nokia N900 is amazing tablet/phone there is lot of useful free programs for it - MyPaint is most useful MUST HAVE app for me. - Shutter = Remote for my DSLR. - BlueMaemo = Bluetooth remote, controlling computer. - Tuner = Sound Programming is now easier with it. - Easy Debian and GIMP But if you want just a phone, there is maybe much better alternatives.

@LuvDoco it's not bulky at all, i own one and owned MANY qwerty phones such as the HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Pro 2 etc. It might look bulky to you but that's only because of the added keyboard, compare with an iphone it's not very bulky at all, the keyboard itself is thin and overall phone is thin, it's very ergonomic and elegant when you get use to it.

I am using ZAGG Invisible Shield "full body" protector..

I like it very very much.. kind of bit sticky.. but it is perfect for me..

..it gives nice friction to drawing strokes = better control.

And full body gives phone very nice strong grip.

But these are personal things,

there is lot of people who do not like these features.

.. and Pressure Sensitivity is improved a lot! It is now AMAZING GOOD!

Also my NEW Tone's Brush Set Version 2 .. is coming in the Next Version.

There is 124 NEW optimized brushes for N900 with MyPaint.

I'm shocked to learn that the N900 has this amount of pressure sensativity. Been using MyPaint now today, and it's simply stunning!

any idea how sensative the screen is to pressure, for example, is it as sensative as a wacom?

Hi! I just made "NEW" Global Pressure Mapping ..settings and

"Tone's Brush Set V2" for MyPaint.

Pressure Sensitivity works AMAZING well!

I have Wacom Cintiq 12wx and still..

I prefer somehow more, this little gadget and it's pressure sensitivity..

Notice! There is "BUG" of N900 pressure sensitivity

with MyPaint... (which means that "full potential of sensitivity is not currently

supported, I think. This could be come even better in future).

Huh, sounds like this program's just getting better and better! I must admit, the N900 is almost like a travel sketchbook for artists, small, but great for when you are on the move!

There's a bug with it? Hrm... I wonder how crazy it would all be if there was a program made like MyPaint but just for the N900/Meamo/Meego. It might knock the socks off everything else out there for years!

If you mean that Line Brush?

You can download it from maemo org > Talk > Software > Multimedia > Mypaint-0.7.1 for Fremantle .. my post is on the page 28.

It is not currently included Tone's brush set .. so you have to do some work.

I am constantly try to create new brushes and find new methods to make

textures... besides I try to learn draw and paint...

I do perspective, lightning, shadows, anatomy -studies... it is fun.

There is now version 0.8.2-1maemo12.

MyPaint can be installed (maybe!) a fresh phone now!.

But I recommend you to read more about thing at

maemo org, talk, Mypaint-0.7.1 for Fremantle.

MyPaint can Open and Save files:

.ora, .jpg, .jpeg, .png -fileformats.

MyPaint native format OpenRaster (.ora) keeps all the Layer information

and other formats .jpg, png, will merged all the layers.

There is no currently .psd -file support.

You can freely download MyPaint to your Desktop Machine,

test and see what can you do with it.

This is the same MyPaint 0.8.2 program what I am using here

on the N900 internet tablet / phone.
