I oil my scalp the night before my wash, once a week and in the morning I wash my hair.I find it to greasy to leave the oil more days and it's sticky.Anyway, works wonders for me, my hair grows faster than before.I have a problem because it's to frizzy, I have to find a good leave-in, any tips?

I mix my castor oil with olive oil too! [extra virgin] I have really thin hair as well, but because I have Caucasian in me [i'm Chinese, and our hair tends to be coarse and thick] my hair grows out really thin, and castor weighs it down too much by itself.

Thanks for the applicator bottle idea - when i'm using my fingers sometimes it's kinda hard to tell if it's touching my scalp, or if my hair is just getting in the way.

If your hair is shedding, mix it with other oils to thin it out. Your scalp may need to get used to the oils. I shed & icthed the first few weeks and then my scalp got used to it and my hair is getting thicker! Depends on each person.

No...dont use grease because grease is a solid agent and it will clog your scalp. Castor oil is best when organic...but the Sweet Almond Oil is MAGIC :-)

@cynthia35694 Hi, I know you posted 8 months ago so this is a long while later but from what I've read (I haven't used it yet) it can seem/be drying as castor oil is a cleansing oil. I have got this info from what I've read about the oil cleansing method for the skin in which you mix castor oil with another oil and the percentage of castor oil you use depends on how oily/dry your skin is. So while I haven't actually used castor oil yet, I'd suggest mixing it with e.g. olive oil.

@ilovefunnyvidsvb You oil your scalp 2-3 times a week (but not too much coz it's thick) and you leave it in for a week. Then wash it out at the end of the week and repeat the process. You should notice thicker hair between 2-4 weeks (deppends on the person)

Heat killed my hair b/c it kept breaking off due to the heat so it seemed as if it wasnt growing due to the over use of heat which breaks hair off. And also moisturizing my hair regularly has helped my hair retain length not necessarily grow

Someone else taught me this: You put it in your scalp and on your hair the night before you wash it out. You leave it on the whole night wearing a shower cap and you sleep with it then wash it out the next morning.

And how fast it grows depends on how fast your own growth rate is so you realy cant predict how long it will be if you use it 2wice a week for a month but you will have some growth tho over maybe 2-4months
