How well will I be able to run most Gamecube and Wii games with my setup? Will I be able to play them at a high resolution with a solid framerate? Also, how would I make backups of my own copies?
@coolaidkiller101 That's true, but currently my PC is almost noiseless, and I'm not sure whether I want to achieve greater performance or stay with silent box. Also I'm very low on money, so liquid cooler goes off ;(
@Speaktrap i really think you should oc it (its worth it)your pc wont make noise on idle ,only on load.liquid coolers are relativly cheap and you can put it on any intel or amd socket for about £50. or you could get really good air coolers cheaplly too for under £30 or £20
@coolaidkiller101 Hah, I tried today to raise FSB to 300, but seems that my AC's too weak. I might decrease memory multiplier, but It's already 2x667Mhz, and I remeber how slow loading was when I had only one memory unit
@OnAirWatch I was using an Xbox 360 controller for this I think. I also got one of those new Razer Onzas controllers recently, which works great as well.
@jowofall I haven't played through the whole thing, but so far the only slowdown I've noticed is momentarily whenever steam or smoke is present on the screen. You should be able to run it. Use my settings from the description, and lower the resolution if you have to.
@kyledawg92 I've noticed that the slowdowns are caused by the Vertex is not fully renderized.
Now a question: if I install the Windows 7 Ultimate x64, will the performance decrease? because I'm using the Windows XP pro. x64 version and is very nice to emulate, but I need to detect a Wii Remote controller by the Bluetooth pointer, and the it doesn't have this option!
@jowofall W7 is slightly more resource heavy but it shouldn't impact your emulation much, and IMO upgrading to W7 is worth it regardless. Also, disabling Windows Aero will help performance. W7 will actually do this automatically for many games, though it doesn't for Dolphin.
@adultswim303 there is, i have the NTSC version that i downloaded. maybe its just not on torrentz, well anyway with the PAL aparently you have more things you can do in sequence breaking
@adultswim303 search for it, i have no idea how to upload torrents or send a 1.4gb file over the internet. if you search on google, Metroid Prime NTSC then i'm sure you'll find one.

@l33tpete Try build r6515 if it's slow for you. It's usually noted as the fastest build.

@Speaktrap oc it then,i get nice 50 to 60 fps on my amd 3.5ghz,c2d's oc past 4ghz easily with proper board and cooler

@jowofall W7 is slightly more resource heavy but it shouldn't impact your emulation much, and IMO upgrading to W7 is worth it regardless. Also, disabling Windows Aero will help performance. W7 will actually do this automatically for many games, though it doesn't for Dolphin.
