But I also doubt they would use it on a studio album, I guess they were really unhappy with how some of the Japan recordings turned out...

@nmycon No. Billie said himself that they never edit live performances. The Awesome as Fuck DVD is 100% live, just like every other Green Day live release. Do you even know how Autotune sounds? When you hear an autotuned voice, you just know that it's not real, even if it's just edited a bit. And I don't hear any of that on the AAF DVD ;)

I've only noticed it on When I Come Around ("I've heard it all before") and She ("Are you locked up in a world that's been planned out for you?"), you can hear the warble.

I don't really have a problem unless they start using autotune on studio albums.

And it could have been some WMG exec that told the producers of the AAF video to "make it sound better," Green Day might not have even known about it.
