  • I love how they made the last verse the same as the second verse in Afterlife :)

  • i wanna see MY generation waking up inside! PLEASE!!!!

  • THANK YOU..

  • "You don't have a Soul. You are a Soul. You have a body." - C.S Lewis

  • @fortheloveofmusic16 no way! i was JUST thinking about that quote :)

  • Easily the best Switchfoot song ever.

    Possibly their best album yet ..

  • beautiful song. as far as originality goes though, it's just a mix of 'beautiful letdown,' 'the setting sun,' and 'restless'...

  • this song has the ability to make you smile..... to hope....to let go

  • The intro to this song is what I'd imagine the soundtrack of the rapture to be. Almost heart-breakingly sweet...

  • @spearmintsweet Well, I guess the whole song. :)

  • I find the order of songs in an album can change the story or how you look at the song, and this is great for the last track on the album. Go Switchfoot.

  • Pooooooooooolaaaaaaand:-)

  • Greatest song I've ever heard. Praise God.

  • I. NEED. THIS. INSTRUMENTAL....

  • On the final day I die, I want to hold my head up high, I want to tell you that I tried, To live it like a song...

    Perfection.

  • This is without question the best Switchfoot album ever. Amazing lyrics and melodies.

  • .."till I die I will sing these songs on the shores of Babylon.." They know there calling as artists..second the chills

  • these guys definately stretch the boundaries of ministry quite nicely

  • This song = Chills

  • How could anyone ever dislike this song, makes me wonder about the person who does...

  • Definitely my new favorite album and band!! The songs are so meaningful and powerful:D

  • i am in awe of this album

  • "Writing music fabricated by the truest truths of the universe, yet in a way the whole world can understand". They've done it.

  • All the members of Switchfoot are Christian (and live it out) and In terms of writing they put alot of thier journey, believe and faith in thier music to make music that touches all audiences its not just put towards the "Christian label" which they feel put them in a box on who they can reach with thier music, " The sick need a doctor not the healthy"

  • ya , everybody has to agree with yellowgiraffes comment ! furreal haha its awesome !!

  • Even if they are a Christian band or not, Music itself is an art and should reflect you as a person or group. That is something that's lost in most of our music today (at least the music they put on where I live.) and that's why rap and hip hop was so good in the 70s-80s because they told stories or they rapped about loved ones and such. Now I'm not saying you should love rap, you should love what you love, but it doesn't really matter what type of band they are, only the music they put out.

  • For the last time they ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN BAND!!!!!! Even their singer said its all metaphorical.....:)

  • @mbrowshan News to me, been listening to them well over 15 years now, and they at least started out as a Christian band, or do you not know their roots? I think it's more you are talking from ignorance and hoping it's not true. Yeah, they were a band before they had a mainstream following and they still have definite spiritual meanings behind their lyrics even if they aren't as overt as they used to be.

  • @Moorendini2 Yes their songs have spiritual meanings......with metaphorical connotations.....not a specific religious agenda.....When one thinks that their particular religious views are the right and only way...that their tribe is correct and everyone else will burn in some type of horrific hell.....well...lets just say that is sick and delusional...sick as why on earth would anyone wish such a horrific fate upon other humans and delusional as there is no magic God man floating up in the sky

  • @mbrowshan I agree that on this album that the band has avoided any overtly Christian themes, though this has not always been the case. I apologize that the actions of humans acting as humans has caused you such hatred of Christianity. Obviously you have great respect for all people yourself and aren't dismissive and hateful toward those you disagree with yourself as your words so clearly illuminate.

  • I have listened to this song so many times.

    It's my absolute favorite.

    I love how powerful Switchfoot is:)

  • "And when I reach the other side

    I want to look You in the eye

    And know that I've arrived

    In a world where I belong"

    That's where I want to be. :)

  • I think this is there best style.....

  • I love all of Switchfoots "Undercover Christian" messages they put out much like in this song.

  • @esms09 thats exactly what I call them

  • Original lyrics by Switchfoot.

  • ‎We've been running up against the crowd,

    I don't care what they're telling me,

    we could be what we want to be;

    we've been down but we've never been out.

    Just because you're running

    doesn't mean that you're scared;

    born for the blue skies,

    we'll survive the rain.

  • ‎"I still believe we could live forever,

    you and I we begin forever now

    where the weak are finally strong,

    where the righteous right the wrongs.

    Age don't matter, like race don't matter,

    like place don't matter like what's inside;

    I'm ready now, I'm ready now.

    Ain't no killer like pride, no killer like I,

    no killer like what's inside;

    I'll let it burn the way the sunlight burns my skin.

  • 2 people don't know where that belong

  • Great song!

  • one of their greatest songs.there just so many but that doesnt matter i guess because they just make good music everytime and will look forward for some more and i believe when its all said and done they can say to themselves "we did it"..to me this band is already one of the best if not the best band this planet has ever known.
