if you can understand japanese, you will notice the story actually focuses more on "whales" than of "dolphins" even though both sort of fall in the same category, they always use the word "whale" instead of using "dolphins."
The movie wasn't against a 400 year old tradition~ it was against using dolphin meat (which has been tested to have nearly 2000ppm of mercury, 0.4ppm is the "safe" amount") as a substitute for whale meat that is being sold to Japanese people and poisoning them. Yes, it is cruel in how they operate, but I have no right to tell them what to do or how to do it. I do have a right to inform others that they are being poisoned by incorrectly labeled/procured meat.
Although I somewhat agree that it's heavily slanted in order to promote this thing, which is completely wrong, I do think that people have to remember that most of Japan's population didn't know.....and that there are good people over there.
I've come across so much hatred towards innocent Japanese people, my age (17-18) whove had nothing to do with it.
I hope the Slaughter stops, and that everyone can look at the good things that Japan has to offer.
