Oh god, there seems to be a war. The fact of the matter is, Coco, was very inovative for her time. She was one of the leading designers who managed to rid women from the confines of their S corset's and opened up a new way of dressing.Now regardless of whether you like what karl's done or not, when coco died her brand was slipping. Her creations felt confined to an older genaration and karl bought it back to be the prosperous label of its day.

I understand exactly what you are feeling. However, Karl is not here to babysit and simply hold on to whats already been done by Coco CHANEL and herself.....I think she passed the baton to him in certain with hopes that he would mantain the CHANEL brand and its design perspective however from what i've researched about her she her self was a incredibly innovative person herself and loved to make the unpopular thing POPULAR that been her legacy and i think he manitains that legacy well...

I've just had about enough of Lagerfeld. I saw denim in this collection and i feel like he's throwing the sophistication out of Chanel. HE's cheapening it up and making it commercial. The point of Chanel is too not make garments that people already like, but to make garments that people will come to like. Her innovative use of Jersey explains all that.

@vampireofstyx I have to disagree, I see that Karl has an amazing way of staying intouch with whats current, however transcending,maintaing the absolute of sophistication of the CHANEL brand of the past and defying any boudaries that the industry has placed on fashion today!!!!!.....He simply articulates today's fashion and culture from his own divine perspective!!!!.......pure , chic, simple, opulence personified!

@jazzeejai Aside from Chanel, Lagerfeld also does Fendi and his own label.

I say what i said because I feel that Lagerfeld can do what ever he wants in his own brand and that he shouldn't tarnish the Chanel or Fendi name to be trendy or chic. Chanel isn't about being trendy and chic, it's about being elegant and timeless. This is the image chanel has worked hard to create, Lagerfeld should maintain this image and not impose too much of his design perspective into Chanel.

@jazzeejai Lagerfeld has done an amazing job at maintaining Chanels image without putting so much of his style into Chanel but it's disappointing to see so much garments that isn't really suitable for Chanel to show up on the Runway.
