  • @korvo87 Yes it is Skyman written for Duane Allman.

  • can anyone please spot out the tuning? low E donw to D ...what else? thanks in advance.

  • so sweet

  • Now this is Music, Awsome.

  • i agree with ribluesy. this music is not blues. everyone knows that since it is not performed by a blind black man on an out of tune acoustic before 1940 that it cant be REAL blues.

  • This is NOT blues. Or jazz. It is new age mush. However, Mr. Earl does have a distinctive guitar tone that is unmistakably his. You can hear this at the very end of the tune.

  • @ribluesy You're right in a sense. It's more of a ballad and a meditation, but it's definitely Ronnie's blues and a far cry from "new age mush" or smooth jazz. I don't remember the actual title of this song (it might be 'Heart of Glass') but I know he wrote it as a dedication to Peter Green. Ronnie has tone and soul to spare.

  • @cs868 Yes, you are right; it is a ballad, and I do feel badly about my uncharitable comment. I have seen Ronnie Earl many times and he is a great guitarist. I do prefer some other videos here on youtube esp Rego Park blues which is killer.

  • @ribluesy I would not feel bad about your comment. If I didn't know as much about Ronnie's playing as I do, I may have expressed the same sentiments as you. I'm glad you've seen him live, so you know first hand what an incredible guitarist he is. Ronnie does not sing, but I think all the emotion in his heart and soul shows in his playing. Thanks for the reply.

  • @ribluesy "Not Blues"? Do a little more research and a lot more listening...maybe take a lesson or two.

  • a very sensative guy with a sensative touch

  • I love Ronnie, but he just does not look happy here at all

  • I like the way every sound is given attention and expression. Sublime must be the word. Thanks for this.

  • When I moved to Colorado from the East Coast there were two things I missed the most: the ocean and being able to see Ronnie play.

  • How come we never see - the perhaps finest of all Bluesplayers - Mr. Ronnie Earl at Clapton's Crossroads Festival?!

    Ronnie for Crossroads!

  • @SamsaraBlues Your so very right!. He IS one of the VERY best blues players

  • @SamsaraBlues Totally agree with you!!!!

    Ronnie for Crossroads!

  • @SamsaraBlues cla[tons scared hahahaha

  • Ronnie would probably not do Crossroads now--he has some health issues and doesn't tour much outside New England and some other areas in the northeast

  • @SamsaraBlues Coz he ,s so much better than E.C.

greets from The don From Holland

  • I love this song. Thanks

  • I feel reborn as well today, seeing Ronnie looking and playing SO well. I'm overjoyed and amazed by the "Ppwer of the Program" combined with his hard work. You are a great musician and an inspiration for me, to keep on keepin' on myself. THANK YOU Ronnie.
