@69pontiacfirebird Everyone has their opinions. I like both. And people who listen to rap think this is crap, but like i said everyone has their opinions.
@nargoon1 As a person who loves hip hop, and most genres of music, I can tell you this isn't crap. People just need stop comparing hip hop to every other genre. Anyone with bad taste in music would think this is crap. It's okay to not like the song, but to think it's crap is a bit crazy, regardless of what genres of music he/she might like.
This is so more than excellent for b-boying. Thanks for posting. Most of the time,it can only be heard at The True School Tools of War,Rock Steady Crew anniversaries, and Bambaattaa's Zulu Nation anniversaries. I'd like to thank you for posting this on here and also Louis Eric Barrier and William Griffin,Jr.(aka Eric B and Rakim) for sampling this for I Know You Got Soul(1987).
@hork111 if that were the case he would have been fed up since 55 when Bobby byrd started the famous flames and then they became James brown and the Famous Flames!!!!!!!!
@tempts2000 Maybe that's the case. Sure Brown took over the Famous Flames. But without him, where was Bobby Byrd headed? We'll never know, but I suspect nowhere. To Byrd's credit, he recognized in Brown they had a unique talent and he got out of the way.
owyhea, the firts time I heard this music, I was in the coffeeshop (the weed store for the newbies around us ;)) and I thougth this music was just the shizzle becouse me eye's were red and my thougths were captured by a beautifull blue/purple/pink cloud... but now I'm cleared up I gonna sue my parents for a missing part in my education! its really groovy stuff dude...
Bobby Byrd is credited for discovering James Brown and although Mr. Byrd was a great performer in his own right he and James brown made great music together. Mr. Byrd died around Sept. 2007.
Did James Brown actualy write the music or did he get all the credit because he was a great performer?he and Bobby bird Performed well together.Should have stayed a team till the end.i hear Bobby Bird had the group befor mr.Brown joined?P.S. Is Bobby Bird still with us.If not when was his demise?

One of my all time favorites, I don't care how old, what the color of your skin, what race, if this song dosen't make you move,You my friend have a serious problem...
@scags365>Wow! I remember this growing up! I used to dance to this with my friends and brothers and sisters at house party's in the 70's growing in NYC and Long Island! LOL! My kids are laughing at me now while i am bopping my head up and down! They know I can dance! Wasn't this the bomb back in the day? If it wasn't for Bobby Byrd and his family, their would not be any James Brown! Bobby sand back up, danced back up with the Famous Flames and was James Brown's best friend!
@debgirl12000 I totally agree, there will never be music like this ever again and thats SAD !!!!! I was born and raised on Staten Island growing up in the seventies was a total blast !!!! It was nice chatting with someone from back home you take care of yourself.

Listen good to The Big Payback by James Brown. I'm sure the song is about Bobby Byrd, who got fed up with Brown's massive bullshit and quit in 1973.
