I like this video. I main hammer, but I've always preferred SnS for Narga. I do prefer evade +2 for him, though, so that it's easy to roll through his prowler stance jump and get in the extra hit or two. It's always satisfying to beat Narga at its own game of jumping around like a ninny, hitting things.

ok and for those who bring the barioth in to this. NARGACUGA CAME FIRST!!!! barioth is a non related sub species kind of thing.

MHFU came first so if u say its attks are similar to barioth, wrong. barioth is similar to NARGACUGA. and btw tri is boring... mhfu/mhp3rd is better.

i also think nargacuga is easier than tigrex. my first tigrex time 43:56 first nargacuga ( today) 13:28. i also do have really powerful weap so that may have helped... tigrex katana full hermitar z set hr 7. and 54 tigrex kills one narg...

ps nargacuga is not as hard a people say. and its tail slam (rumored 1 hit ko) is a lie only took 2/3 of my hp. and i died once, from the shakalaka.. they are scarier than the nargacuga.

I dunno if anyone else has seen it, but the direction the tail is pointing in it's "prowler" stance is also the direction it will take it's first leap. To make it easier to avoid.

@Thraxxacor Always go for more Raw. Element should only ever be a secondary concern.

Furthermore, the tail can be first broken and then cut off.

Narga is pretty awesome, as is the armor you get from him. He was actually slower than I excepted him to be, but I vastly prefer fighting him over Tigerx.

Wow, this makes it seem so simple. I always get caught by it whipping back around at me in rage (boomerang) or get hit by it's tail when I'm using a slower weapon. Yeah, that tail attack IS deadly. It one-hit a couple of my friends the other day while they were attacking it's face lol.

when it goes into the prowler position, head down low and tail up circling

throw a flash bomb followed by a sonic bomb and it'll do a fair chunk of damage

but you have to make sure you catch it when it's in prowler otherwise it does nothing other than stun/irritate the fuck outof it

he is like any new monster. learn his attacks and counter its the basic strategy that works for EVERY monster in the game. go out and watch his attack for a bit. learn when he is going to use them and it will turn out fine. BTW a longsword is also good as it has more of a speed advantage

lol for me i use LS and i just lure him near an exit and just exit and enter the area every 5 sec, he will just stand ideal for 3 sec, and i just hit him 2 and exit the area and enter again. took about 25-30 mins. easier fight lol. ^^

Just a heads up. Since this is a newbie guide i thought it would be helpful to mention anyone using a GS or maybe a LS the area between the tail and the body (similar to the Monoblos) seems to be fairly effective on this creature and is fairly safe to attack.

@droidica2 well i use Silver Sol givinf ESP and Sharpen Increase you can get it from the Elder cat but u need a los Ruby for each peice of the armor -_- takes alot of Farming silver los for it
