  • manifest desinty is a term used when talking about american indians getting put on to reservations as the US expanded westward. i know he mentions slavery in this song but im pretty sure its as much about colonial american's treatment of the natives. after all jamiorquai have stolen their name from the Iroquois Confederation, a short lived country destroyed by the expansion of colonial imperialism.

  • fucking nigger shit

  • @BlackMonkTV suck my black dick you racist muthafucka.

  • I don't think he's talking about shaming whites for their oppression of blacks, but rather how whites seemed to marginalize other cultures-- probably with more relation to the actual Manifest Dynasty, when the United States was moving westward and tossing the Native American's aside.

  • jk the lead vocalist is mixed / biracial.

  • Great song!!!

  • This song is awesome and invokes many images that even though are inarguably bad are made beautiful in song.

  • why everyone just cant just consider themselves as a human being insed of this black white or Chinese japanese we are all the same fuck

  • This is how music is supposed to be. Total freedom! I hate whats on the radio now.

  • i have goosebumps with this song

  • Jamiroquai, one of the greatest bands of the last 20 years.

  • Ah, 240p, we meet again.

  • Any chance the lyrics could be published in the avaiible space above ?

  • AHHHHHH I HAVE LISTENED TO THIS SO MANY TIMES YET NEVER PAID ATTENTION TO WHAT HE WAS ACTUALLY SAYING,,,,,,,,,, HMMMMMMMMMMMM, SADCASE...HISTORY, SMH

  • Who do u believe in by 2PAC AMARU SHAKUR !!! The greatest of all time

  • @mediveliplanoise but the original version is the song by JAMIROQUAI! this song came out in 1994 whereas "who do you believe in" came out in 2002 i think.

  • u know he is a brit?

  • @paulieeee1976 uhhh duhh..

  • the next stop on the manifest destiny train: your mind, your soul, your dna

  • let me refrase that, "regardless of what stooges you elect to be OUR leaders".. stop forcing your stupidity on the rest of us...if you want to be treated like kids, fine, but dont force us all into it

  • manifest destiny is a pretty way of saying the government can take what they want.. they destroyed the native americans, and now they are destroying us...yeah, everyone seems to be convinced that god is on their side as they persecute and enslave their fellow man...and for all you proud americans, democracy is only the tyranny of the majority over the minority.. we're all slaves of a tyrannical government, regardless of what stooges you elect to be your leaders

  • Perfecto

  • damn...

  • Comment removed

  • im a Tupac & a Jamiraquai fan. Tupac just happened to sample a song from another great artist. real talk. CHI-CITY!!!

  • @DTRuck91

    LOL SAME BEAT

  • This is my favorite song from Jamiroquai. I had this on repeat when I was a teen. It sounds better when you hear it on cd...and play it loud. My neighbors probably hated me.

  • Tupac - Who Do You Believe In

  • tupac is a pioneer

  • This tune is in my top ten lyrically....i cannot think of any other artist who could put the story of this fantastic tune together so wonderfully....he see the future from the mistakes of the past....we are blessed to hear his talent...he knew long ago that there is an emergency on planet earth...funkiest man on planet!!!

  • sound quality not quite good enough to fully appreciate this track

  • 10 people thought Tupac created this beat...

  • @acegotflows

    Tupac had a beat ?? ;D

  • ok who disliked this...bitches please. i played this shit in my car with all my college buddies and we love this shit. Jamiroquai is my favorite band of all time

  • @jmiester25 you should write a letter to your senator, this is an outrage.

  • @adeadcarrot oceans are boiling over this lollllll

  • @jmiester25 id lov 2 meet u n ur college buds (Y)

  • I have to agree, one of the best. Almost heartbreaking to be honest.

  • in portuguese...

    PERFEITA!!!!

  • Certainly one of his best songs..Why are so many of his works never or rarely heard on radio?

  • Tupac - Who do you believe in

  • @mrstupidfuckingutube THINK ABOUT IT, i'm going to REPLACE SOME WORDS in your reply to show the contradiction in your message...Yeah love or die! Do you realize how much (SENSE YOUR MESSAGE MAKES) By forcing (SLAVERY ON BLACKS) you eliminate all the possibilities that creatism is.....See this is why we have a black president and hip-hop & r&b which generates billions of dollars annually. destiny will manifest in time, get it

  • @aminhopkins Barack Obama isn't Black? Who thinks hes Black?

  • @aminhopkins Are you bragging about Blacks being for White entertainment? Football players and hip hop artists are the same as jazz musicians and amos and andy. Btw bragging about the first female black president before history has judged his term is just bragging about how narcissistic american voters are obsessed with image over substance. diversity over results. feelings over truth. get over it.

  • @mrstupidfuckingutube no disrespect but the word is positivism. this song is about slavery and j saying "shame on you" to his white ancestors for repressing black people for so long. my comment relates to the fact that with obama in office, the shoe is on the other foot now. j's lyrics are "destiny will manifest in time", clearly saying that blacks will eventually rise above what was the struggle of slavery in be in a position of power someday. and btw your comment is why we have hip-hop today

  • @aminhopkins this song also alludes to the 'trail of tears' which is part of Native American history. African and Native Americans were on the receiving of the 'manifest destiny' mentality. Shameful....

  • @ixiruxa Millions of people have been on the receiving end of "manifest destiny" in Asia and Africa and Europe as well. Every civilization over the past 10,000 years. Manifest Destiny led to the internet and YouTube, and for this you should be thankful.

  • @p4p4mik3 If you mean to say that we should be thankful for the Manifest Destiny mentality because white people were more technologically advanced than others, then you shouldn't even be on this page right now, leaving comments that sound nearly racist to me.

THIS SONG IS ABOUT THE INJUSTICE THAT CAME WITH BEING AN AMERICAN INDIAN, AFRICAN AMERICAN OR OTHER MINORITIES THAT WERE ON THE RECEIVING END OF EUROPEAN COLONIALISM.

  • @ixiruxa If it wasn't for Europeans you would be in a mud hut, and if you wanted freedom you wouldn't live as a minority in the country that enslaved your ancestors. Freedom comes with uncertainty and self-reliance, thats why the slaves stayed. The fact you can't see the humanity in all groups of people or the fact that every group of people acts the same in positions of power just goes to show there isn't any point in breaking things down for your ignorant ass.

  • @p4p4mik3 put it this way, its still easier to be Black in America than it is in Africa.

  • this song is a staple on my ipod! i havent met a song from him that i dont like!

  • wow this song is awesome. even the underplayed jamiroquai stuff is better than mainstream.

  • another masterpiece by Stu zender

  • @Funkeddu stu's B-line is awesome! he is very gifted! and kay kay takes all the credits...

  • @lissa948100 I totally agree with you, all originals members from 92 have left the band..wonder why...pity, especially for the extremely talented Stu Zender..

  • @lissa948100 Unfortunately yes. He was only 19 here if Im not mistaken.

  • @gregorymak yes he was around 19-20 years old

  • lmfao for the person who is a kid thinking 2pac sampled this from him when he created this song and 2pac sampled it from him. Kids please know that hiphop uses samples unless they create it from scratch. It says it on the 2pac song where the song came from. Ignorance is bliss they say! Shit i was a kid and still knew what a sample is.

  • @bronzeprince you suck man

  • His voice is amazing. why am I just now discovering this artist? oh well, better late than never

  • sampled from tupac lol i dont think so

  • I came

  • I don´t like much Stuart Zender, but here he´s a bass hero! I take my hat..

  • mmmmm this reminds me of driving thru downtown chicago in the breezy summer at night!

  • I love everything about this song.

  • how are there 9 dislikes?

  • @eataplacenta probably because 9 people don't like the song

  • @vertigo8 probably coz 9 people were sent a link to something they dont listen to usually and the person who sent it to them is in some way disagreeable to them. Thats my theory on dislikes and yes i do spend to much time thinking about stupid things

  • dont think it would have been tupac who made it, rappers do usually use samples.

  • this song is almost impossible to play on bass. it sounds easy, but the notes are so spread out. its crazy

  • To all :Jamiroquai and Tupac are examples of servants that was given gifts to share to all from our creator. They brought what they were commanded to bring. So enjoy all of the beautiful gifts and listen to the message. Then see if you can make this a better world for us all. Peace

  • stfu.

    .

  • @nubianprncs1 sorry but saying rap and this masterpiece is in the same category even if your right it hurts me

  • @nubianprncs1 I admire your intentions however it will take generations to turn things around.

You've only got to watch the material youngsters are listening to present day to see where it originates.

  • One of the best songs of Jamiroquai

  • this track is hot. takin me back to high school 97.

  • This is one of my favorite bands of all time..... Super great stuff...

  • organic!

  • SEXUEL!

  • 9 tools dislike this

  • i always expected a song with this kid of title to be more epic.

  • @salsa02 more epic yeah but he sang it in his style and atleast he kept to the meaning of the phrase..Some artist use historical names as titles to songs to sound smart

  • @VALTRONICA yeah true he did do it in his own style.

  • @VALTRONICA i guess so is a very chill song is not bad at all though

  • @salsa02 It sure sounds epic to me!!

  • 2pac who do u believe in but they both probly took it frm sum where

  • One of the best and most underrate song of the band.

And my fav song of Jamiroquai.

  • nice :)

  • one of the great jamiroquai / jay kay tunes ...str8 massiv! djяaghʞѕтaя™(ill!)®♂ vote it up!

  • mammamia troppo bella

  • great !!

  • Hey guess what Tupac is dead lol Coming from a Jay Kay and Tupac fan of course., so STFU and listen to the music!

  • 2Pac sampled this song for "Who Do You Believe In"

  • first of all, people... Tupac didn't sample this. Johnny 'J' sampled it. He is what's known as the "producer" of the beat... Tupac rapped on it (he's a rapper). And yes. It's awesome. Tell me Who Do You Believe In? Amazing. A Jamiroquai sample.

  • @svendiamond so you're saying a producer wrote this bassline? are you stupid?

  • @alexowain are you stupid? when did i say that? i said Johnny 'J' is the producer of the Tupac song. Not Tupac himself. Obviously the sample is from Jamiroquai, like I said. Can you not read?

  • @alexowain lol, he told your ass.

  • The very best Jamiroquai song

  • 2pac sampled this from Jamiroquai.I like Tupacs song aswell "Who do you believe in" cuz they both did a great job. Pac's first verse is too sick. his 2nd was ok.

  • superiority was clearly meant to be so destiny will manifest in time. 400 plus years. he seen obama coming years before his time jamiroquai=genius

  • @aminhopkins

You seriously think presidents run countries? Hell no, it's the elite with their arms industry and drugs industry.

  • @NoShelter15 seems like you've got a lot of things on your mind huh crazy. how the hell do you take a comment about a song to that level? let's not continue this because it seems like your crazy ass would have no problem turning this page about a song into MEET THE PRESS

  • @aminhopkins

    that doesn't make sense.....

  • Who Do U Believe In?

  • Jamiroquai is the king you cannot say less than that.

  • It's "musicians" like Jamiroquai" that sooo help me rebuke and turn away from the imbecilic product of urban and cotton-candy pop radio today. I'm happy to say NONE of the hugely-popular musical "acts" of today have not gotten A PENNY from me. I WILL NOT buy their product... ever.

  • @brazilbaby7 LOL BR GIEF MONIES PLOX

  • damn i love this song. Jamiroquai was at his peak on this album. And then the greatest hip hop artist who ever lived sampled it.. (yea i said it 2Pac) fucking prefection.

  • probably the best song about slavery.

  • 2pac made me come here.

  • @oTHREATZo Me too, this is nice tho...

  • @oTHREATZo me too LOL

  • 8 dislikes are deaf.

  • 4:13-6:19

The best 2 minutes in music.

  • Jay interprets this track very well regardless of who did it already.

  • i like jamiroquai and i think that the 2 pac track was a really nice touch. To the great 2pac RIP

  • He was so ahead of his time. I have big a huge fan since day one.

  • this bass intro is soooo SICK!

  • @Naughtydreadz, I did my homework on this track a while ago...the first time I heard this beat was In 2pac's "Who do you beleive in?" I998, 12 years ago..but then I saw how Jamiroquais album came out in 1994..so 2pac indeed sample this..but pac did a great job on that one. Is for that reason that I would like this album..and plus I like Jamiroquai.

    Just beautiful !

  • Just started to listen to Jamiroquai, and I love all of the songs I've listened to. Especially this one.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEEE

  • My absolute fav song on this album!!!

  • @kolouramor It's part of the 'Fab Four' for me: Just Another Story, Stillness In Time, Light Years and this.

  • i wish JAYquai was my social studies teacher in elementary school.

  • Other amazing jamiroquai´s song.

  • Too bad this song is out of tune for some reason, can't play along with the song :'( I love this song so much :'(

  • love!

  • Guys, are we really debating over who made the beat first? Like it matters? I'll admit, I thought Tupac made the beat at first, but now I know it was Jamiroquai.

So what if Tupac sampled this beat. Not like beats haven't been sampled before in music (it's not even exclusive to just rap/hip-hop...everyone samples beats and songs). Just listen to the music. Both Tupac AND Jamiroquai are awesome artists and both use the beat in an awesome way to mold greatly with their lyrics.

  • Damn, this is a wonderful beat. Can't believe I never heard of it before. Favorite'd.

Also, off-topic here: @solidsnake0707: Don't feed the trolls. The only reason why that guy keeps posting is because he likes irking people. Just report as spam and ignore, it makes the site so much nicer. Also, I highly advice using better grammar, you'll be taken more seriously.

  • 2pac-who do you believe is way way way better !!

  • It's different, you fucking moron. YOu cannot possibly compare the two, they are not even the same genre. GOD, you're fucking stupid!

  • you going strait to hell

  • @solidsnake0707 HAIL SATAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the FIRST white man who gets it

  • the outro of this song always gives me the chills. powerful shit my dude!

  • 2Pac sampled this beat. This was before Who do you believe in from 2Pac.

  • 2pac never made a beat in his life...all he did was write lyrics...he never played with the boards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HAHAHAHA is somebody really trying to say that jamiroquai sampled this from tupac????

LOL... that's the stupidest thing I've EVER heard

  • first of all yes tupac sampled this but in exhange for this he sample late night with his hit song hightimes

  • WTF????

  • what do you mean , your sentence is incoherent. Please rephrase
