@futureanimatior the reason being because if they had not changed resident evils gameplay they would of eventually went down in sells and resident evil would have been finished so in the act to save the

franchise they used the over the shoulder gameplay

Why is it called "Biohazard" in Japan and Resident evil in the rest of the world?

@14lilangel It can be found on Wikipedia under the title "Bio-Hazard Battle" (with the dash). It was a SEGA game released in 1992. While not called "Biohazard" in Japan, it was marketed as such elsewhere.

Many people don't think about it but the title "Resident evil" is based on the first game. The mansion in the first game says it all. But the other games don't have anything to do with it.

when US localization started, a band named "Biohazard" in the US sued for the name and then copyrighted it in hopes of riding Resident Evil's popularity. It failed, as most never heard of the band "biohazard" and it doesnt exist anymore as far as I know.
