@mysticarbol some people have bad dandruff, some don't. mine can get pretty bad because my scalp is crazy dry but i will use lemon juice in my shampoo to help with it a little bit. washing doesn't loosen dreads. having clean dreads helps them tighten

Whoa man! Thats how you mess your dreads up with that crochet hook. You dont want to be breaking your hair like that. Best use of the crochet hood is for the loose hairs nears your scalp. stab the hook all the way through the dread, hook the loose hairs and pull them back into your dread. Dreads eventually can break off the way you try to tighten your dreads so I suggest just letting them lock naturally. You can also get very kinked up dreads the way you are doing it
@Zares28 yea people have told me that but i've seen so many videos of people who use it and they've had their dreads for so long with no problems so i'm torn with how i feel about it because what you say makes sense too. i don't use it very often and i feel like i am as careful as i can be with it but i'll probably ease off of it. however i did not know that it can cause loops and stuff so that makes sense now because i didn't know where they were coming from haha. thanks man!

@catoplayboy mine are natural as far as no products being used. i didn't go neglect because i don't have a lifestyle where i can just stop washing my hair or touching it, and honestly i wouldn't want to wait that long. i know plenty of people who have backcombed and theirs have turned out beautiful so i'm not too worried about anything going wrong
@ryanOriley1 WHen you neglect you actually do wash your hair. There are a lot of muiscconceptions and misinformation out there. Its more of statement then a "style" to me. The longest I have ever heard of backcombing methods lasting is around 4 years. Ahh yess.. the patience issue. "Anytihng worth having is worth the wait." Peace
