Mah, magari ai tempi ce l'ha pure avuta una relazione con Courtney Love.. D'altra parte se la vedi nature e senza trucco puoi pure scambiarla per un uomo ;)
One of my favourite R.E.M. songs ever, on one of the best albums out there. Kinda makes me feel nostalgic listening to this as the album was released in my birth year, meaning my dad would of played in non-stop to me.
that was frickin great. I love REm. What gay man was Michael trying to court at the end? There has to be a back story to that dance on the monitors...
Why does Peter Buck not use any tremolo when they play 'I Took Your Name' live but they always do on this song. Did they decide after Monster was released that tremolo was a bad idea for 'I Took Your Name'? Well this is a great live version of this song anyway!
To say that a peron is perpetually gay for having same sex intercourse is about as whimsy as being a drug addict for having tried them. I guess it's sad to say then that we've had addicts in the White House before ever having women, or minorities.
YEAH my favorite band in my favorite form: Berry-Buck-December-McCoy-Mills-Stipe!!! Also liked J. Waronker on drums, Strings and Hollsapple as keyboardists. But HERE their at their best!
R.E.M. have been at their best live from 1994 to the present day. They sound so much better with more musicians around them. Beefs up the sound. Monster was an awesome lineup and so was the 2005 tour lineup.
damn..great performance!!..my fav rem song!..but damn!-stipe didnt have to bend over like that at the end....great performance though!! long live rem!!!!
I was waiting for a response, it was a little test. I never said there was anything wrong with likeing cock, it's the truth, he does like it. Because we live in a ridiculuos homophobic society, people assume I must think it's a bad thing. Time for an attitude change.
In my opinion, it has very little to do with homophobia. Most people are fairly tolerant of different lifestyles. That being said, many straights still cringe at the thought of two men fucking each other... even though there is nothing inherently wrong with it.
emotionally bisexual, perhaps. (as are most of us, to some degree). But he's got a longterm boyfriend, and leans further in that direction in behavior. so saying he has a thing for "pussy" is both reductive and inaccurate. But if it makes it safer for you het boys to like him, believe what you need to.
"In a 2001 Time interview, Stipe described himself as a "queer artist" and revealed that he had been in a relationship with "an amazing man" for three years at that point.[21] In previous interviews he has described himself as "an equal opportunity lech"[22] and said he doesn't define himself as gay, straight, or bisexual, but that he was attracted to and had relationships with both men and women."

no such thing as bisexuality. Your either gay or straight. This "I'm bi!" stuff is nonsense. If you are with the same sex sexually, and you injoyed it? Your gay....period!
Nope, he's gay. In the past he said he was an "equal opportunist lech" so he wouldn't hurt the feelings of anyone he was with at the time, both male and female alike, but he's recently come out as being gay.
Also, this song isn't about anyone he actually had a crush on. The lyrics are a purely sarcastic concept about trying to convince a superficial woman with ridiculously high standards that he is fake too so he can win her over. It's actually pretty funny.
Im loooking for an R.E.M appearance, they played man on the moon im pretty sure, on snl, leno or letterman, it was the first time I heard them a few years ago and I was blown away and I want to see that video that first captured my imagination, any help would be great!
man, this is just before Bill had his aneurysm that almost killed him. It happened on tour in Switzerland in March of 95. Anyone know the date of this appearence?
Who cares whether Stipe is gay or not ? REM are one of the greatest bands ever. End of.

:-) Michael's first coming out on national television? He sure was straight in '83. ( lol )
Such a great song. Not even the ick factor of the lead singer could affect it the slightest bit.

The End of the Trail.
You push and prod,
and keep going,
and eventually hit the ocean.
No new ground to travel.

Any guitarists out there know what the "tremolo guitarist" is playing through on this song (Or what Buck used on the album)?!
Would be MOST appreciative, as our band is playing it!
Thanks,

Buck has said in interviews on the album he was using the tremolo feature in the Mesa-Boogie Trem-o-verb amplifier.
