To manualdemise: The only sound effect used is reverb, and while a little heavy, I've heard FAR MORE used on many professional recordings of so-called stars. Every recording artist uses some sound modification in the studio and also at concerts. "quite often off-key"? - better have your hearing checked!!

Mark, if you could hear as well as you think you can you'd realize that she is singing barely above a whisper. I doubt she can project loud enough to sing at a normal volume and thus is why she elects to utilize the reverb to mask her inadequate voice control. She was only off key twice, so I overstated that point.

I hear it more here than the other video. It sounds as though you are more mature in voice than you let on. Don't be afraid to let that deep, mature voice in. Pinching your tone to sound 'pretty' doesn't make it pretty at all. You sound 12.

And I agree about the echo effect. You should not need to muddle your voice with effects if it's good.

I did a survey of Hallelujah versions on youtube. The official results:

A guy named Leonard Cohern does a very good cover of the song. Another good one Jeff Beckly. Honorable mention to Katie Lang (or KD Lane or something) and Jon Bovi.

But Krittybean OWNS this song!

Krittybean with a karaoke blows away Leonerd Corhen with a full orchestra and choir.

As a matter of fact Leohard Crohen should be paying Krittybean a royalty every time he even thinks about humming Hallelujah in the shower.

The Cohen version with the grinding guitar and booming drums does have a certain power you dont get when it is done a capella - but for goose bumps and emotion and for a shiver down your spine I haven't found a version that does that as good as Krittybeans.
