did shields miss a whole week of training camp for this fight? when i watched the primetime show i thought they said he missed a week to watch his teamates from strikeforce fight - can someone give me the answer if they know please
@codeman95291 He actually trained in San Diego Friday night after he arrived, trained a little on Saturday and flew back shortly after the fights at Strikeforce so didn't really miss anything significantly is my understanding.

His technical striking is aweful. His strength looks unequal to GSP. I think this may be a blowout unless Shields can counter on the ground well. He won't be able to take him down, as he looks weaker than Koscheck.
@TheMoneytdizzle lol u cant judge a guys strength entirely on their physique. alot of strength comes from their core and within. i mean look at ben askren is he a physically imposing guy no hes not but hes strong as fuck.
If those weights are an indication of his strength and conditioning, no way in hell will he have any advantage in grappling/ submission. His sparring didn't look good either.
Much respect for Jake Shields.. But if is going to fight Gsp it's better that he take is fight to the ground, is stricking habilities are not very good, when he trows is jab's he moves very much is body and if he want's to kick that will give him some trouble, is hands are to relax and are very down, i don't know if is tired but whit Gsp he can make those kind of mistakes, is foot work are a litle poor because when he trows is any sequence e dosen't move after that and that will trouble

Doesn't seem to have the strength needed for GSP.
