What's sad is that more musical theory goes into the construction of dissonant chords than anything played by the guitars in this song.

Seriously, who cares what sweeping pattern they use? Realistically the actual song is pretty good with variety in pace and structure. In addition the band seems capable of actually writing rhythm parts which are at least slightly original, while A7X mostly applies dull harmonies and cheesy melodies to everything. Frankly while the guitarists aren't adventurous with the appegio choices it can still at least out-impress in terms of the actual rhythm parts.

Trying to evaluate them based on the technicality of their guitar playing is irrelevant given that the genre consists of creating large drives and dissonance. What's sad is that more musical theory goes into the construction of dissonant chords than anything played by the guitars in this song.

Not only is there nothing technical about putting what is basically learning exercises in a song, but there's nothing tasteful about it either. Seriously, who cares what sweeping pattern they use? Realistically the actual song is pretty good with variety in pace and structure. In addition the band seems capable of actually writing rhythm parts which are at least slightly original, while A7X mostly applies dull harmonies and cheesy melodies to everything. Frankly while the guitarists aren't adventurous with the appegio choices it can still at least out-impress in terms of the actual rhythm parts.
