  • I love your Rush covers! Great job

  • OI! Good stuff man!

  • Loved it. WTG. The lighting in the video was sweet, too!

  • whooof... nailed the solo clean. nice job

  • I've seen all of your videos ... excellent. But also your tone is perfect IMO.

  • Again, excellent job on the cover!

  • the shadowing is kinda creeping me out but great playing

  • what type of bass are you using

  • Dude, great tone! What's the gauge of your strings? Thanks.

  • OMG, I bow to your greatness. I thought that I played it well.

  • That's not how ya do it!!

OK OK THAT's HOW ya do it ;) THX

Check my RUSH covers if ya like

  • Great job!!!

  • Wow. Thats such good playing! You nailed it all the way, Sir.

I'm dying to hear someone play the bass cover for the slow 7/4 section (section IV : after 2:30) covered by ^^^ Steve Morse band ^^^. Geddy has never played it - live or otherwise. They do a solid job.

If y'all haven't heard it , try it out on grooveshark. Search for the song and you'll find a Steve Morse version.

  • Btw . Billy Sheehan plays the bass in the La Villa STR cover in Steve Morse's Prime Cuts album. Correction - its not really Steve Morse band.

  • Out of tune

  • Wonderful! Makes me appreciate Geddy even more.

  • You killed the solo! Nice!

  • tune

  • Nice job but dude, lets see the the entire song from the beginning!

  • ur bass sounds amazing

  • Outstanding shyt!

  • Hod do you get that 'exact' tone? (Bass settings, amps settings, ect.)

  • turn the lights on you schmuck!

  • always wanted to figure out the solo!!

  • Hello and good day, 4zinger! I'm currently involved in a spectacular Rush tribute band and aside from all of the vocal, keyboard , and bass work, it's good to have a tutor for those intrIcate bass parts that Geddy plays on this track. Thank you for your unselfish and unnconditional knowlege that has made us all better musician's.

  • @mikko2112 Thank you very much! I really appreciate the comment. I'm very happy that these videos are helping people learn the songs. Thanks again :)

  • Bravo!

  • nice playing bro

  • nice playing, im playing the same song now and its quite suprising how hard that run at 0:30 actually is even though it remains within three fret lengths..good sound quality too :)

  • I loved that, best I've heard besides Geddy!

  • Great Job !!! We played this song at an open mic a couple weeks ago after our bassist only had a couple hours to hear it. You did a flawless performance !

  • awsome job

  • Thanks for all of the comments :)

  • Maestro2112 Hello and good day! I'm currently involved in a Rush tribute project and besides all of the vocal and keyboard work that I'm doing, it's good to know you've got a tutor to help you thru the intricate details of Geddy's bass on this track. Thanks brother! Your valuable and unselfish knowlege has made all of us better musician's!

  • Very good but where's the rest of it?

  • U 'DA MAN !!!! great job

  • 1 of my fav Rush tunes!,keep up the good work dude- sounds good!~

  • amazing man, just awesome! I'm learning this at the moment and that bass run is just SO hard!

  • Comment removed

  • excellent

  • very nice, one of my favorite basslines to play.

  • Check out: "john entwistle isolated bass" here in u tube. i dont hear many misse here at all. and i played idrums in a band and we played a lot of Rush. I would never claim to be close to Pert, but hit 70%... enough such the songs sounded great so we were told

  • dude.. Excellent job. I am impressed!

  • awesome job

  • wow....im fkn blown away.. i just started paying bass nd my dream is to play that song...im soo discouraged right now

  • nice playing, bass, and setup

  • are youi gedy?

  • Excellent work dude awesome Toronto band after all!

  • i love you...

  • just great what you do, your technique with the bass is really good, sound very clean .. everything perfect.

  • pretty sick stuff man...and yes, you did nail the solo.

And your A is also flat :S

You know that already....I'm just being one of those youtube jerks who points out stupid things that are pretty much unnecessary.

  • Yes, I know that the A is flat; I forgot to check the tuning when I did the final take of the song :P

  • nailed the solo??? go and hav another listen to it... the hardest part is not the actaul run up the neck (which is not quite right anyway) but the few lower notes leading into it.

  • You sure cut it close. Closer than the bassist in my Rush tribute band anyways. I don't think there's such thing as nailing anything by Sir Gary Weinrib.

lots of muted and ghost notes to keep track of.

  • if you had a rickenbaker or some of geddys basses that´d be wonderfull.

    the camera position is cool.

  • really cool!

  • Well done! I was happy to see that you nailed Geddy Lee's bass solo at 0:28.

  • pretty great!

  • Ignorance Mode - ON...Damn...really great!

  • nice man!

  • Hey, that's awesome dude!

  • what rockbass bass is it?

  • sounds like the bass is out of tune a bit but other than that nice job.

  • That bass solo between 0:27 and 0:31 is a bitch to play and practically impossible to play on nickel wound strings.

  • i have nickel wounds and i play it just fine

  • i've played an acctual warwick corvette it sounded awesome but it costs to much but it's worth the $2675

  • It's a fretted rockbass ;)

  • Nice cover, the solo was very clean. What type of bass is that? It kind of looks like a Warwick.

  • Warwick Rockbass(or Rockbass by Warwick); best for the money, IMHO. BTW, thanks for all the comments! :)

  • Looks awesome, I've never seen a sunburst Warwick.

  • awesome

  • AHH!! Perfect! Really nice tone too man. Im in awe! :D

  • Dude. You make it look like anyone can do it. That little "Ghost of the Aragon" part was perfect. I sure would like to see that part at half-speed, just so I can see what the hell is going on with those fingers.

    Oh. Cool lighting, too.

    But anyway... Excellent job.

And thank you for reminding me how good I'm not.

  • You are an inspiration, I very much regret reaching 40 and not being abke to play an instrument. I've wanted to learn bass for many years and your two videos are steering me in the right direction. Thanks very much and keep them coming, all the best.

  • Bloody impressive mate, although I prefer your Invaders bassline, maybe because I prefer Maiden!

Some more Maiden would be great.

  • awesome, man!
