  • I have this theme and Angelique's on 45's! I still play them frequently.

  • outstanding video

  • I had this album as a little kid! --I truly loved this show and years later had the opportunity to meet Jonathan Frid. He was incredibly kind, humble, and as nice a man that one could meet. Thank you for posting this. They don't make em' like this anymore. I hope that the up coming Tim Burton Film does D.S. justice.

  • @MystyMary Thank you!

  • very wonderful it take me way back i can forget that.

  • I noticed Quentin's look changes at different times thru out the series. at 0:05 his side burns are more shaggy and long , as a ghost and later you see his hair style thick but combed and sideburns are more short and trim.

it's like they were experienceing with his look untill they got it right. as you see him in the future.

  • I have listened to this video many times lately... things not so good lately... As a small child, I would play this LP over and over tto "lift my Spirits" it has helped somewhat as of late Best Wishes to all Dr. Theda

  • @DrTheda735 Best wishes to you!

  • I used to run home from school just so I could see this. Some good memories here.

  • I Love this. Brings back childhood memories. I wish I could purchase with the talking the words!! Just like this one!!

  • @brensenum Thanks! This is available on The Original Music from Dark Shadows cd. Its available for purchase at Amazon.com

  • Quentin used to make my heart go pitter patter.

  • my role model

  • Beautiful! I watched DS from its first episode, saw the phoenix Laura Murdock Collins who always sat by the fire, then Barnabas, then David seeing the ghost of Quentin. There's nothing on TV this good nowdays. Thanks!

  • @ickiepoo Thanks! The show wasn't perfect, but I still enjoy watching it more than most of the shows on now.

  • i only heard of dark shadows can somebody explain to me what shadows of the night is

  • Shadows of the Night (Quentin's Theme

  • great song..this was my fav tv show when i was a kid..still hav all my dark shadows books and record

  • Phantom melody, playing soft and low.

  • Love this song even though it sounds old.

  • I loved this series...watched all the episodes and then the reruns I have 45 vhs tapes from Columbia House,,then they stopped making them leaving me back in 1895....dumb asses

  • @Tiebor12 herd its comn out on dvd soon

  • @Tiebor12 dvd soon??

  • I love Selby's recitation of this. Quentin was a fabulous character. As much as I shivered at his turn as the silent spook, I sure was glad when he found his voice. Wonderful post.

  • Thanks ThymeBottle! After the 1895 storyline, I think the writers really "dropped the ball" where the original Quentin was concerned.

  • I was only a kid when Dark Shadows was on and had such a crush on Quentin Collins. :)

  • Thank you for posting this, I love this song.

  • loved it

  • When Dark Shadows was on the Sci-Fi Network, I went into several used book stores looking for the paperbacks and comics. When I asked about if they had anything from Dark Shadows, almost all the proprietors told me that they used to race home from school to watch the show. Thanks!

  • @XOtericate Did you ever find the cookbook? I have it, and still do somewhere. It had the dishes named for the characters like for instance: "Quentin's Karate Chops" which I think were made w/pork chops! Another one was "Beth's Lime Vodka Highball". It was one of those themed cookbooks, but it is quite a souvenir of the show! I also had a number of the "green books". One from the same author was a different story altogether, called "Shorecliff". But it was a gothic mystery in the same genre!

  • @loveoldsongs It would've made a fantastic t.v. movie made by Dan Curtis, and done like his version of "Dracula", or "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" or "Night Stalker"!

  • @loveoldsongs I've been told that Diana Millay (Laura the Phoenix) wrote that cookbook. It sounds like an interesting read! Thanks for commenting!

  • I just found a 45 copy of this tune, it was released on the Philips label - I love it!!!

  • Thank you for sharing this.

  • Thank you so much for this video! It was great. I love David Selby and Quentin was my favorite character on Dark Shadows. It brought back a lot of memories for me! Again, great job!

  • Thanks! You can find this on the Dark Shadows Bloopers & Treasures dvd.

  • This video and music brings back a flood of memories. Me and my sisters would huddle around the TV on a summer afternoon anxiously waiting for the next episode of Dark Shadows! Quentin was my favorite character. Quentin's Theme was as hauntingly beautiful back then as it is now. Thanks so much for this video, and most of all for the music!!

  • Thanks! The Quentin from 1897 (not parallel time, 1840, or 1840 PT) was a great character! Dan Curtis and the writers should've done more with him!

  • You are a saint for uploading this, XOtericate! I've missed it a lot. You rock!

  • Thanks! This was one of my most popular videos on my old channel (introjectionate) before the saints of You Tube suspended it. I felt obliged to re-post it. You rock elawton1980!

  • america needs a song like this today!, thanks for posting this gem.

  • Wonderful! This needs to be up!

  • Thank you! I was thinking about your web site when I decided to re-post this.

  • I remember Quentin from watching Dark Shadows as a kid, and his theme song, of course. But I didn't remember that there were lyrics to the tune. How sweet. Thank you for sharing this!
