  • Subscribed, I'd love to see more videos like this.

  • coooooool

  • either you suck or its not possible to aim worth shit using that stuff

  • @asdfwerqert Bit of column A, bit of column B. At the time I made this they hadn't implemented Low-Pas filtering, so it was really shakey.

  • Amazing!! How'd you do this?? I wanna try on my own too.

  • I question how you successfully calibrated them with vuzix's shitty software

  • i want a remote desktop for ipod that uses the ipods accelerometer

  • do you turn youre head to move the screen up down left right or yu turn the wiiimote

  • @manofaction6 Its cool and hard to believe but he turns his head to move the screen

  • imagine amnesia or dead space

  • @tfrepl Haven't played amnesia. Did try dead space, wasn't really the impressive with the camera being third person an all.

  • if ipod touch had tv-out glasses with head tracking it would be a full virtual reality system (using the gyroscope in the ipod for aiming)

  • What about the cord tethering you to the computer?

  • I would be more safe with a probe in my brain and sitting on the couch ..

  • @resistanceunion but then you'd be fat after a while!

  • LOL, why 15 dislikes on this?

Cool stuff, I did the same with a few projects, chex out my VR vids to see.

  • Dude did you fuckin do this yourself?

    Howwww :|

  • @321AGK Using VR920 with regular drivers and GlovePIE 0.30. Scripts up somewhere on glovepie.org

  • whats gyro? some sort of firmware?

  • @thenesmaster Different type of sensor, senses rotary movement, as opposed to acceleration and magnetic fields.

  • @timeforastronomy No gyros, which would be smoother and more accurate. Hopefully soon I'll be able to jam some in myself, but until then it's on the backburner.

  • so this is the same as the trimersion?

  • @warlockboyburns Similar, different headset. I'm almost done integrating gyros into the VR920, I should be able to make it much more accurate and less tedious soon.

  • this would make a great wii game!

  • @msigt740 Meh, more fun mehbeh, but only if difficulty levels were lowered and online multiplayer disconnected from the rest of the playerbase, simply because the Wiimote is a more fun than accurate device. Still, that would be pretty cool.

  • i can get glovepie working and my wiimote but i don't know how to use the tilt effect in the wiimote as the mouse. Can you send me a script using the tilt as the mouse or explain to me how to do it?

  • @KingAnime97 I don't use the tilt effect on the wiimote as a mouse.

  • howd u get this for wii?

  • @aoibheann548

Yeah, Microsoft is giving out a couple hundred of the new Xbox Kinect but not for much longer, you probably found out about it on their face book fan site. I can save you some time, heres the link to the sign up website.

Sure thing I will upload a a few vids of us messing around with it this coming Wesneday

  • Dude you need to tell me how to make that set up...cause that is wicked awesome.

  • Found out why walking is so awkward: The wiimote dpad uses your thumb and only works in one direction at a time. The WASD keyset uses three fingers and works in variations. I think I might have to start using the nunchuck.

  • Intresting.... I would be paranoid about tripping over :)

  • @MrFlameifrit Yeah, I always put it on, use it, then reach out for the mouse only to find it's on the opposite side of where I expected it.

  • @MrFlameifrit i wouldnt i would be more paranoid by taking my glasses off after playing this and there is a zombie infront of me!! :L

  • @MrFlameifrit i would have a heart attack and be like"THEY'RE EATING ME!! HELP!! OOHHHHH!!! I'M DYING!! MOMMYYYYYYY!!!!"

  • @mackenzie95623 Read description, or even title for that matter.

  • Retard.... read the title

  • Very interesting experiment, How did you do it?

  • @CloneTrooper098 Said it several times throughout the comments >.>

  • cool game but you suck..hahaha

  • i agree i have the games 1 and 2

  • Nice and interesting video, feilen1000.

About the separating aiming from looking thing, you might want to check Arma2 or it' s predecessor Armed Assault, if you haven' t done so already. They are both fps that allow freeaim.

They support head tracking devices like track ir that help immersion, but a setup like yours coud push it to a whole new level.

I have no ideas if you could get your vr setup to work with the game, though.

  • @M3ntos06000 There IS trackIR emulation in GlovePIE, so I could use the native system. I just wish a few more games would support it natively.

  • cool... your room is weird...

  • lol now imagin VR with fear 2 or dead space lol

  • @thief128 I have dead space working with it, but even aiming with your head is better than aiming your head with your head in third person.

  • that's true Virtual Reality. In reality we would suck at gunning down zombies like that, like civilians with no training in weapons and squad progression :D

just jokin', brilliant project, keep up the good work dude ! (TF2 Soldier says : get a haircut and kill some cyclops you maggot !" :D)

  • @TubeofDestiny Hehe, that too. A team of VR players with accurate weapons would be no match for a couple of decent regular players. Doesn't make it any less fun :D The trouble is seperate aiming from looking, which FPS games don't have. Best are VR built games, but there are far too few.

  • Nice setup, Feilen!

  • Aiming at the.... head... would be a good idea....

  • @maulcs Aiming would be a good idea :D Hard to do with the VR920 though, no gyros. Looks good for VR, but too shaky for aiming. A Wii MotionPlus or other Gyro device can fix this, once GlovePIE is updated.

  • learn to aim man

  • @neorevolutionnar Try aiming with your head X3 It's mostly unsmooth headtracking, but I'm going to add a way to aim with the Wii MotionPlus.

  • The guy in this video needs a haircut very badly.

lmao you see how his hair goes over the stuff on his face?

    that's just crazy.

  • @diplomatic423 Doesn't exactly block the view of the head mounted display milimeters from your eyes.

  • So L4D is for the Wii now??

  • It's on a computer, naturally.

  • @MyNameISBenOrme No, I'm using the Wiimote because it's a good cheap bluetooth input that has accelerometers good for VR input.

  • That makes sense then. I had no idea it was a bluetooth device.

  • TUTORIAL on how to do this would be great.

  • does anyone else think l4d is better than l4d2?

  • i do by a long shot

  • They're both just as good as each other, but I think 2 could have been better.

  • I loved L4D1, I bought L4D2 day one and I sold it so quick.

  • I prefer the ambiance. Daylight zombies mess with the mood.

  • @BruisedBrains nobody thinks that. i love l4d2

  • nice man!

  • kill stupid zombies... uber fun

  • Better vid is now up :D

  • YOU ARE A GOD AMONG MEN

  • By the way, the maker of GlovePIE blocked the VR920 in newer releases because the company that makes the VR920 banned him in the forums. Though he's said he'll unblock it after it turned out that the mods for that forum don't go there anymore X3

  • Get a Dog!

  • What the hell--this is awesome!

  • Hehe, I've been delaying(procrastinating) putting this up for ages, might make a few more

  • Eh... shes close... but not yet.

  • Yeah, magnetometers are not so good for tracking, simply because the earth's magnetic field is constantly jittering. However, using a Gyro (wiimotionplus) you can use subunits for yaw from it, and the major units from the VR920.

  • I think this makes the game more life-like because it "feels" more genuine when your looking around as opposed to a static move speed of a mouse or keyboard.

    kudos - 5 stars.

  • @enjia2000 It really does, only problem is that aiming with your head doesn't feel like aiming with a mouse or real gun. For it to feel right, you have to hold the wiimote directly in front of you at all times. However, I was going to mess with this script and add an aiming mode, which would switch to the wiimote for aiming, and otherwise use the VR920 for looking around.

  • would it be possible to attach another wii-mote to the headset and use the accelrometers in that for the desired effect?

(it's 3am, i'm tired and i don't exactly know how your achieving this in the first place)

  • try using the motion plus. there's significant lag

  • @btnheazy03 'Significant lag' only applies with crouch code. 'Significant lag' in this video, is me not lining up two seperate videos correctly in a video editor X3 Second video was taken with a cell phone.

  • What are you using for the VR headset?

  • I is in your subway station, shootin' your zombies.

  • AWESOME!

  • I screwed up the weapon switch, that's fixed now.
