  • Good GOD! What an intense action!!!

Phone booth is too big for this fight!!!

Muhammad Qawi just pummeled Leon, unreal!!!

and what an amazing almost invisible defense moves by Qawi, and what an impressive ability just easily walk thru into inside and rip those shots!!!

Spinks impressed how much punishment he can take!!!

    WoW, just WoW!!!

too bad no one these days fight like that above middleweight division!!!

and these 2 pretty much cruiser weights slugging it out like Pacquiao!!!

  • It's funny how the heavies of back then were 30-50 lbs smaller than most of the top heavies of today.

  • How did this bum beat Ali?

  • the link doesn't work btw

  • Where is the rest?

  • What happened to the fight with spinks younger brother?Youtube carried it before..now its gone?!cmon

  • @TheGatorfan93:

    It'll be back. Don't worry..

  • @TheGatorfan93:

    It's back on YouTube.

  • @TheGatorfan93: It's back, all 15 rounds too.

  • Leon Spinks fought a dumb, dumb fight! Just stands there in front of a much smaller opponent & trade shots. Definitely not the caliber of fighter his brother Michael was.

  • @FrankenFraud:

He wasn't in shape to box the way he needed to. At that time, Leon just trained enough to get his weight below 200 lbs. He never was in condition during the 80s. He peaked very early in his career, specifically against Muhammad Ali and then it was downhill afterward. Fast living pushed him down the hill faster than normally.

  • To langhornkilla17, Braxton is one of my favorite all-time boxers. I always admired his defensive skills, blocking, rolling, slipping, weaving. I admired his punching technique, a fast, accurate jab, tight hooks and uppercuts, and controlled overhand rights. Not only was he tough, but he was well-taught.

  • Strange to see a former heavyweight champ attempt to win a world title at a lower weight rather than the other way around...

  • @Panthera0nca:

At that time, the mid to late 80s, it was a trend. Leon Spinks came down to the cruiserweight division to campaign as a contender for a world title. Then there was Ossie 'Jaws' Ocasio, a perennial heavyweight contender who never weighed more than about 210 lbs, moved down and actually won a piece of the cruiserweight title. The cruiserweight division had more talent than the heavyweight and light-heavyweight divisions.

  • tw69hands2

I thought they moved down because they couldn't really compete at heavy due to their small size. Cruserweight is a cursed division, who wants to stay there earning moderate purses when the fame and fortune is at heavy - you have to try your luck if dominant. Holyfield and Haye.

  • what was with the muslim sweep that went through light heavyweight division in the 70's and 80's? dwight braxton, eddie gregory and matt franklin, all changed their names.

  • .56 seconds was the latest and worst fan on a punch I have ever seen. Leon threw an uppercut about 2 days late.

  • Dwight Muhammad Qawi what a great fighter!!!

  • Neon Leon was so funny !

  • Dwight couldn't beat Michael, so he takes it out on leon.

  • wow qawi start boxing with 25, and he had no amateur fight. what a great inspiration for boxers who start boxing after 20.

  • You could have thought about Rocky Marciano.

  • @langhornkilla17 Qawi became a pro boxer at the age of 25. He had been boxing before that. He took up the sport in prison while serving five years for armed robbery, and turned pro as soon as he got out. At the time Qawi was incarcerated, the same prison housed James Scott, a light-heavy title contender who actually fought inside in the prison.

  • How did Leon ever get sanctioned for a World title fight? Was Ali passing his gallbladder? Leon Spinks is the biggest fraud there ever has been in the history of boxing...and the sad thing is, he never knew that he was!

  • He wasn't all bad he just won the title early and that affected his career.

  • i agree. he should have been kept a light heavy/cruiserweight, and moved slowly

  • Leon Spinks shows always a lot of heart

  • He made up for so much of his physical short-comings.Height and reach!! Very Skilled!!

  • Do you have the Qawi-Holyfield fight, the first one?

  • Camden Buzzsaw.

  • Thanks for puttin this video up.

Qawi had a heart of a champion, standing toe to toe with the heavies when he was just 5'5. I aspire to be a champion like him one day

  • you re right dude!but just wanna tell u!he's 5feet & 7inches in height.thanks!

  • 5'6 1/2 according to cyberboxingzone.
