@afrerose1 You can only imagine how the next generation Malibu will be. Not only that but it will be a global vehicle. It was also designed by GM's global design studio. Great car all around but until the next gen arrives in short time currently the Hyundai Sonata/Kia Optima as the midsize cars to beat on the market and to be honest with you I think GM is looking real good in that area with the new 2012 Malibu for sure.
I sat inside the new Chevy Malibu LTZ at the Wash Auto Show and I was downright impressed with the build quality of the vehicle. The exterior has tighter gap tolerance (fit and finish) then even a BMW 3-Series and the interior feels and looks loads better then the Accord and Camry. The only other car in the segment that's on par with the Chevy Malibu V6 is the Nissan Maxima.
A friend of mine drives a 2009 Accord, hard plastics are everywhere and it actually looks cheap, even the center stack, which by the way, you would need an engineering degree to operate, doesn't help and the suspension is very hard tuned, too hard for my liking.
The accord without a doubt. Especially in the 90's. You can get a really good one for no more than 4 grand. 93-97 range. The 99 I have cost a bit more than that. Bought it off the original owner, he took care, serviced, and had almost every recorded maintenance with the receipts. The only thing you really need to do with the damn thing is change the oil when ever it is due for an oil change and the things last a for long time. The civic is a smaller car but the accord is far more comfortable.
Trust me, if your looking for a great American car that is both powerful and fuel efficient. This is definitely your vehicle. I just bought a black 2009 Malibu LTZ 3.9L V6 and it is by far the best car I've owned.
The one in the vid is a 3.6L. I was more trying to suggest to people that they should consider the LTZ model. Their both great, it's just I think you get more bang for your buck when you buy the 3.9 model. See ya later EpiDemic117!
I own an accord. Bought it used for 4700. Best deal ever! car is in excellent shape and extremely reliable. It's a 4 banger because of gas. Takes me anywhere I want to go. Its a 99 accord coupe.
I am sorry but it is highly unlikely that you have a Malibu. The engine is a 3.6, there has never been a 3.9. Finally, as is obvious even through the description of the video, this IS the LTZ. It has a very distinct look.
Also, at 17/26, the 3.6L engine is at the back of the pack, if fuel economy is what you are looking for. The Accord gets 29, Camry 29, and Fusion 27.
All this adds up to a case of "you can't trust everything you see on the internet," sir.
"[Doesn't] matter what [you] say. YOU clearly wrote [that]. . . . . "
Does that sound like it makes any sense? You are probably that little kid that is flaming about his parent's Malibu. And, no, I was replying that the CURRENT generation has never had a 3.9. Not everything that is meant is said, sometimes you have to use that little brain of yours to A) see what is being replied to or B) understand what is meant, not just what is written.
actually it isnt any nicer...the accord has tighter build quality..better materials...better over driving dynamics...more room...better back seats...resale value...BUT..the malibu is thank god! FINALLY worthy of buying instead of a rental!
I have the pontiac g6 with the same motor. I got 0-60 in 5.9 (used auto stick and it was 39 degrees outside)

I thought it was a 3.6? Anyway, I'm glad that you like what your driving. That should be the only thing that matters.
