Really love your videos. Opens my mind to what the bass can do. I have trouble making songs since I am not the best at theory. Do you have a special approach to making music? If you don't answer I am not offended I was just curious is all. Have a great day. Cheers from US.
That was en meget good lektion. You er en of the bedste bass instruktører and provider af gratis bassvideos her på digtube.
Hope you understand the humor - you do not sound like a typical dane talking english, you sound better. Do you also play in a band of some kind? I've moved to Copenhagen and been trying to find people to play with again, but it is so hard to find people willing to play. I'm also a proud bassplayer.
good But I think your should have played your mutes in a song so people will understand when to use this Mute lesson. Good but what should it be related to?
"A tutorial i made for a student som time ago..." And Most of my lessons are not for beginners, if people dont understand this video now, theyll probably do later in their "evolution".
Your technique and feel are what I'm chasing. I've been playing guitar forever and just started playing bass a month ago...thanks so much for sharing with us...
Danish Accent rocks more than their acctualy language
I just realized i already doing this finger mute, when i tried to learn this
One thing i want to share about muting in the fretting hand based off what i caught myself doing a will back is that i lift the finger i fret with slightly(index finger)
and i at the same time touches the string with my other free finger(S)(depending how busy the line i play is, and what finger i need)to cancel out the harmonic ringing
such a dream-teacher !! ...and I love that unique scandinavian accent. Thanks you Youtube for getting us poor mortals to know fantastic players like MarloweDK !!!!
Trivial or simple? I'd say if you think it's the former, then it's your relative opinion. If it's the latter, then bare in mind that breaking down any "technique" is helpful to students
After watching this video, I realized why I get harmonic rings even when I mute... I only use my left hand! I need to practice my right hand technique more I guess ;)
Wow. I used to think I couldn't mute a bass, but I can do that first one really simply and subconciously! I need to work on my fretting hand muting though. Thanks for the lesson.. you should talk more in these things.
of course you could also reduce that harmonic sound by adjusting your tone to a softer less bright tone, which would be better for high tempo 16ths. left hand 'choking' at that pace must be pretty difficult.. ?

I sort of use the same technique, but I mute with the same finger that I play with. Going to practice with the middle finger now.
