  • How's Manny Pacquiao?

  • Really love your videos. Opens my mind to what the bass can do. I have trouble making songs since I am not the best at theory. Do you have a special approach to making music? If you don't answer I am not offended I was just curious is all. Have a great day. Cheers from US.

  • That was en meget good lektion. You er en of the bedste bass instruktører and provider af gratis bassvideos her på digtube.

Hope you understand the humor - you do not sound like a typical dane talking english, you sound better. Do you also play in a band of some kind? I've moved to Copenhagen and been trying to find people to play with again, but it is so hard to find people willing to play. I'm also a proud bassplayer.

    Keep op det good work!!

  • OMFG!!!!!! I know that accent! Are you from Denmark??? Thanks for the bass tip btw <3

  • @LestatdeVladimir I sure am;-)

  • yess its the german man!!!

  • thats like moonwalking over the snares :D

  • He just gave me the "Finger"

  • he sure kknows alot about choking

  • I always mute my notes my placing a finger on them, but whater I do, I can never really get my A string to really SHUT UP.

  • Thank you man, this is very useful.

  • Thanks a lot :) I was precisely having trouble with those harmonics !

  • Thanks. I liked the muting with the thumb.

  • sooo useefuulllll........ :D hehe...

  • Awesome lesson!

  • This is lesson,heheheheheheheheheeheh!!!!!!!

  • Youdah Mannnn!

  • Thanks I definateley benefitted from this lesson.

  • I LOVE THE 6 STRING IN THE BACKROUND!!!

  • that's very useful cheers

  • good But I think your should have played your mutes in a song so people will understand when to use this Mute lesson. Good but what should it be related to?

  • "A tutorial i made for a student som time ago..." And Most of my lessons are not for beginners, if people dont understand this video now, theyll probably do later in their "evolution".

  • That's extremely helpful...

Be that a 7/6 string bass in the background thar?

    =d yummy.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Your technique and feel are what I'm chasing. I've been playing guitar forever and just started playing bass a month ago...thanks so much for sharing with us...

  • Can you play Marcu Millers Scoop SOng

  • I see in your JB Marcus Miller you changed its preamp (the buttons are not the originals).

You changed it with which one ?

    Thanks !

  • Thanks a ton for posting this. Harmonics were driving me nutz. Now off to practice this....

    :-(

  • :O

    You can talk!

  • that's what i had in mind too when i saw this vid. :D

  • How many strings does that bass in the backround have haha

  • it would appear to be a six string. lol

  • ok thanks my eyes are kinda bad and i saw it and i was like what the hell?? is that 11 strings haha thanks

  • Maybe is your screen man! You can´t miss that !!!

  • yah haha well my computer is pretty old... maybe somethng to ask for christmas!!

  • you might try just increasing the resolution when on youtube

or getting just a new monitor, worked wonders for my online gaming - i can see them coming a mile away

  • Interesting a student of mine asked me how I muted this week and its something I have never thought much about so I had to analyze it.

  • you are great at teaching too

  • "Fingers take a walk, duck duck!"

  • Noo, its dak dak! :-D

  • its gotta be the accent i still hear duck duck! haha!

  • Danish Accent rocks more than their acctualy language

I just realized i already doing this finger mute, when i tried to learn this

One thing i want to share about muting in the fretting hand based off what i caught myself doing a will back is that i lift the finger i fret with slightly(index finger)

and i at the same time touches the string with my other free finger(S)(depending how busy the line i play is, and what finger i need)to cancel out the harmonic ringing

    /Sorry my English/Grammar :/

  • Awesome lesson!

  • Cool, you can talk! can you feel pain? Do you run on gasoline?

  • such a dream-teacher !! ...and I love that unique scandinavian accent. Thanks you Youtube for getting us poor mortals to know fantastic players like MarloweDK !!!!

  • Trivial or simple? I'd say if you think it's the former, then it's your relative opinion. If it's the latter, then bare in mind that breaking down any "technique" is helpful to students

  • Is this very trivial compared to all your other tutorials, or am i missing something ?

  • Thanks! Man youre great! Keep going on!

  • Hey marlowe, are these also the DR high beams you're using here?

  • maestro¡

  • After watching this video, I realized why I get harmonic rings even when I mute... I only use my left hand! I need to practice my right hand technique more I guess ;)

  • Hi !! Check out my "Rocco" T.O.P Tribute , heaps of Muting of that tune...cheers mate...

  • ive just realised that im doing it naturally :)

  • Awesome!

This is going to really help me control and shape my sound better. Thanks!

  • Funny, I already did that automaticly when I played but I never thought about it

  • Wow. I used to think I couldn't mute a bass, but I can do that first one really simply and subconciously! I need to work on my fretting hand muting though. Thanks for the lesson.. you should talk more in these things.

  • Awesome tutorial.

I sort of use the same technique, but I mute with the same finger that I play with. Going to practice with the middle finger now.

  • my names sebastian to.

  • sweet bro

    great teacher

  • great :)

of course you could also reduce that harmonic sound by adjusting your tone to a softer less bright tone, which would be better for high tempo 16ths. left hand 'choking' at that pace must be pretty difficult.. ?

  • Thanks, this was new for me, I am a beginner.

    best wishes

    Ekatus Atimoss

  • This is an excellent tutorial, thank you so much for this and everything that you share with us.

This video is the first time i've ever seen you make even the smallest little mistake haha..

4:34 for all the people who thought it never to be possible.

I'm not making fun. It's just a rarity that we ever seen a mistake haha.
