I have had the same thing happen to me. Its nice when things go smoother but her had time to hang his saw and brace for impact which means he knew to hang on. As long as your tied in you'll be fine. People pay good money at Six Flags for such a good ride. Its part of the job and you must enjoy what you do. Be safe and take care.

Actually that was a mishap gone right. Everything was tethered and no one or thing (other than the hat) was dropped. Yeah, the guy on the ground with the rope for that upper half was asleep at the wheel.

Oh, that was definitely the ground guys fault. He should have been pulling the slack out of the rope as the top fell, and then lowered it smoothly. Instead, he spaced off at a crucial moment, let the tree drop way too far, and then jerked the rope to try to stop it. He almost killed the man on the tree, who only lived because he did everything right.

There was a rope on the saw, you can see the climber attach the saw to the rope just in time to hang on for the ride. I agree with Mike.. it was the ground guy that screwed up, if your going to have that much slack in the rope it's best just to let the top drop to the ground than to let the climber get slung around like that. It's a good thing he had the laniard strapped on.. that could have been fatal.

well actually ground man left too much loose on the rope he let the top go down almost 13 feet before holding there so the top took a lot of momentum 3 feet under the tree climber is more than enough slack so in this film its the ground mans fault .. but tree climber should have hold on to his tree a bit more :D
