When i've played my very first rpg game (FF V) i've felt my heart alive!!, and now i'm replaying this game becaouse this one makes me cry of happyness and sadness
this game rocks, kinda lame the way you fought all 3 battles the same, faster on kaim and seth, have them use 3 combo and everyone else defend, boring, but effective I suppose

I've recently started replaying it. we really need more turn-based jrpgs like this one on the main consoles.
Let's hope they bring out the sequel. The setting in Lost Oddyssey has so much unearhed potential.
Because there are immmortals in the world it opens up the possibility to play as the same characters through vastly different time eras and such. Can't wait for a sequel!
Gongora is so easy if your characters are fairly leveld up have nullify ,or absorb all elements, and angel guard. My characters were so bad ass by this point ( I got trapped in Temple off Enlightenmeent ^^) Pretty much everything they did gave them health or mp. my casters got mp every round as well + relax and so on ^_^ lol
I hated this battle system. I loved how it was turn based but everyone had the same skill set, it felt like every character was the same. It got very boring towards the end. I like turn based battle systems much like FF9, FF10 where everyone has unique abilities. Its sad cause this game was just short of greatness
Everyone in FF10 had the same moves and even stats when you max out their sphere grid, the only differences would be their weapons, armor, limit breaks, looks, and battle grunts.
@chirijaraiden yeah but maxing out the sphere grid was overkill. Throughout the story and even after alot of power leveling at the end they were still distinct characters. Lost Odyssey based their whole skill gaining by learning from each other. There was no limit breaks no summoning nothing unique about the characters. In ff10 bringing in Lulu to use her blk magic limit or riku to make a special item. thats what i mean. I just didnt like it. spamming 3 hit combo over an over is not fun....
@chirijaraiden when six of your character have all the same black magic attacks halfway through the game it gets stupid. I guess if they had less characters i might not have noticed how repetitive it was...
All I did to kill this guy was buy alot of res shrooms, use all the immortals with persistance and had tolten as the fifth character, and just kept hitting him while I kept Ressing everyone. Took awhile but was able to beat him at level 47.
I laugh every time I see the part where he just runs up to the mirror, and Gongora is basically like, "Hm? That guy is running toward the source of my unlimited power... Nothing out of the ordinary there. Oh wait, now an entire group of them are messing with it. Best if I don't bother them."
@MrBored2sleep well it wouldn't be hard considering they brought the creator of final fantasy and nobuo uematsu, musical genius behind most of final fantasies, on board this project.
@The1Antonio1 go to the temple of enlightement if u havent been there allready look for videos showing you where to find it,anyway go there for a while and u will level up also look out for an enemy called hellish keleon they will give u a level up each time !

I remember having so much fun with this game that I hit the 60 range before I went to this boss. To put it bluntly, I annihilated him. I mastered a TON of people. I have all but one achievement for this game :)
I have a question: I just started disc 3 and have pretty much shunned leveling both Ming and Sarah. I'm in my 30s at the moment while ming and sarah are both still at 20 and 25 respectively. I do intend on getting them to a much higher level but is it really neccesary to do so? Can I play through the game with a party of Jensen for caster damage / cooke for caster heals / mack for melee buffing / sub-par damage / seth and kaim as melee damage? Please consider that I don't have Sed yet.
@Netherfist This was before I knew about the grinding spot in Numara Atoll. All my toons are level 49 now muhahahaha! It took like 4 hours of grinding but it was worth it!
This is a solid great game I had for the 360, I don't own this system anymore but I would love this game to have a sequal and so do all the people enjoyed this gem.
this boss is easier than it shows i didnt have double cast or combo and i was only lvl 49 on all characters and i wasnt hitting 9999 or what ever i was only hitting 1500 - 2000 and i got thorugh it easly. just remember to use sarah to keep the party well healed up and make sure all characters have persistant and anti-stone then you should be able to hack away like an axe... to think about it, it only taking me about 9 - 10 minutes me self to do it... oh well still 5/5

It's possible that there might be one. The guy who made this game, I forgot his name, said he was going to announce a big RPG title later this year. Possibly the sequel.
Actually, I felt the opposite way. I thought it was the best turn-based RPG I'd played yet with the rings system and the Mortal/Immortal skill link, but I felt the story was lacking. Gongora was far too much of a cliche "I will rule the world" villain. I was kind of hoping for something a little more.
Either way, I did very much like the playable characters and I felt the pacing was pretty good.
Ugh, leveled up to 72ish while going for things in ToE, thinking this boss was gonna be everything he was pumped up to be...was disappointed how easy the fight was but a damn good game and storyline. Jansen is my hero XD

this game is SO not easy, who ever was playiing it just made it look easy. iv nearly completed it but going to start it again as theres still allott of stuff i havnt learnt.
Do you know how many times i died on Grand Staff (the very first time grand staff) i nearly threw the controller because that fucking worm kept killing everyone. Then i was like "Yay i killed it finally" and then a second one came... at that moment i swear i was about to just throw my xbox.
I would say this is a more advanced version of Blue Dragon, the spells are similar, and such. But other things like, the spell types, the way skills are learned, the story line, and so on are all very different.
This is my fav battle,if you've done everything right,this basically becomes a practice battle.He can't hurt you in this one,so you can see how the spells look without worry about tryin to hurry before he beats you.

Lost Oddyssey was terrible, TOO much story, not enough interesting battles. Go with FFX or FFXII, they are actually outside the regular FF series so you dont need any backstory, plus they are awesome
How can a game be too much story. Lost Odyssey had an amazing plot, amazing music, amazing gameplay, amazing visuals, amazing cinematics, humor, drama, twists, almost everything. FFX and Lost Odyssey were masterpieces, FFXII is garbage. It It tried to make a comeback to FF tradition and failed, the characters were horrible except for Balthier and Basch, and the music SUCKED.
i luved the music 4 ff12.1st all orchestrated soundtrack.The plot was actually really good but probably wasn't liked Bcause most of the cast spoke in old english

this game is SO not easy, who ever was playiing it just made it look easy. iv nearly completed it but going to start it again as theres still allott of stuff i havnt learnt.

Do you know how many times i died on Grand Staff (the very first time grand staff) i nearly threw the controller because that fucking worm kept killing everyone. Then i was like "Yay i killed it finally" and then a second one came... at that moment i swear i was about to just throw my xbox.

This game looks very similar to that of Blue Dragon.

I would say this is a more advanced version of Blue Dragon, the spells are similar, and such. But other things like, the spell types, the way skills are learned, the story line, and so on are all very different.

This is my fav battle,if you've done everything right,this basically becomes a practice battle.He can't hurt you in this one,so you can see how the spells look without worry about tryin to hurry before he beats you.

Lost Oddyssey was terrible, TOO much story, not enough interesting battles. Go with FFX or FFXII, they are actually outside the regular FF series so you dont need any backstory, plus they are awesome

How can a game be too much story. Lost Odyssey had an amazing plot, amazing music, amazing gameplay, amazing visuals, amazing cinematics, humor, drama, twists, almost everything. FFX and Lost Odyssey were masterpieces, FFXII is garbage. It It tried to make a comeback to FF tradition and failed, the characters were horrible except for Balthier and Basch, and the music SUCKED.

if you like final fantasy you will definatly love this game!! just try it!! after final fantasy i never found a rpg game that i like untill i played lost odyssey it's really great! (my opinion)

These are the only skills that let me to winning... His Pain Surge Gave me full life and i just kept "Leveler Double Cast" And " 3 Combo " And i just Mindus/Faster/Powerus up and he was down in 3 turns. 0o Suck
