  • Joerg rocks it! Love the tones in this machine. As awesome as the work he did for QuasiMIDI....

  • This guy looks like the bad guy in ghost busters 2

  • daaaaaaaaamn, those are some SICK tones coming out of that box! Who has one of these? Is it easy to work with?

  • I've had mine for a bit more than a week now... wow! this thing is FANTASTIC!

The sound is as good as the first one since there's no possible improvement on the best sound ever that a synth can produce; but on top you can now do so much more...

You guys did it again! a true classic... well done Radikal Technologies, Joerg, Andreas and the team!

  • Definitely gotta get one of these!

  • Got one. Its an amazing piece of gear. My precious... hahahaha. I have a few videos up showing some of the evil one can accomplish with this thing.

  • Where can you buy one?

  • Nova Musik, Noise Bug, Analoguehaven are the main places I know about. If you hurry you may get a better deal than the 2500. Mine was a preorder special of $2050. Less than a virus ti Polar (which doesn't sound as good imo) and Very very worth it.

  • the best groovebox on the planet...all other grooveboxes including mc808 (made by roland, inventor of groovebox), pales in comparison!!!

i want to get spec 2. but how many multi-timbral capability does it have?

  • So did Roland's mc808 come around in what - 1982 or so then? Was the Raveolution made in 93 or 97? I am not sure what you mean by multi-timbral, but the Spectralis 2 has, I believe, four separate polyphonic synthesizer engines, as well as a monophonic analog engine. That leaves what? - 28 percussion modules/tracks. I just talked to the owner of Novamusik and he is trying to find out when the thing will be released. It's June 29th and it still isn't here yet. I hate waiting on these releases.

  • roland is definitely the biggest innovator and contributor of modern electronic music. thanks japan! i am not denying that.

mc808 is not released in 1982, it was released in 2006...i think...its their latest groovebox, and its sound engine isn't that great. roland needs to get their act together and come back as the superstar company they once were.

  • You are thinking of the TR-808 (1982), not the MC-808 (2006)

  • try again. the tr808 is the old analog drum machine. the mc808 is a groove box. the 909 would be more accurate comparison since the 909 has sampling like the spektralis. 2gb on a card. but the mc909 is 16 bit BAAAAAAAAAH. at least the speki has analog filter and a monophonic analog synth. CV/gate inputs. designed in germany. roland doesn't come close.

  • That makes sense- We are using a Quasimidi Raveolution in our live set-up and we just acquired a Spectralis! It is a buggy unit, so I have to ship it back, but they are replacing it with this new one. The Raveolution was the original groovebox, and still holds up today. You can dial in Kicks, Snares, Hi Hats, percussion, and a bass synth module, all on the fly, while it is running in sync with say - Ableton Live, like we do. It is a great tool. This Spectralis though - The sounds can't be beat.

  • This guy is a genious, he invented the Spectralis and the old Quasimidi instruments.

  • i had a spectralis 1 which the os hasn't been finished for over 3 years, but if the spectralis 2 is what they say, i'll be getting it.

  • Thanks for posting this. I've been waiting for a demo of the Spectralis 2 since NAMM. Very nice.
