  • killer...

  • RJD......... FOREVER............. \m/

  • i stood in line 4 ever 2 get Rainbow tickets for spectrum philly in say 78 or 9 only to have them trot out a different lead vocalist, some A hole in a leisure suit no less, what a jip, I'm still not over it, what happened, how could RB not value Dio, what loser

  • thatd be graham bonnett i guess!!!

    @14jwh

  • @14jwh Its not that he didnt value Dio as a good singer. He just wanted to try something different. He kicked all the members except Ronnie, but ROnnie got an offer from Black Sabbath and he accepeted and Ritchie accepted that.

Get some facts before bursting out like that about Ritchie. Jimmy Bain also had a drugproblem and I think he still has it.

  • @Vacketed18 I am not attacking RB I am expressing my EXTREME dissapointment at never having seen Dio live, I was like 14 at the time and all the best bands were falling apart, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, even the Who would soon turn Banal with their "you better you bet" period It was just the timing for my generation but it was very frustrating and a big part of why punk, especially Ramones, became so appealing,

  • @Vacketed18 wasnt it a clash of two very strong personalities that was the reason why dio quit got kicked out...

  • @Vacketed18 Isnt jimmy Bain quite fond of the ole bourbon?

  • The King lives!

  • is there going to be a legend like DIO again i think not...

  • RIP Ronnie....

  • Dude, Daz that's a fab clip man. =)) Great to see this posted. :) Long Live Rock and Roll!

  • One of the great bands of the seventies that defined all that is hard rock love you Ronnie James Dio

  • So great!!

  • Incredible!!! That was the best sound and video quality I've seen of any Rainbow performances around that time. This line-up, particularly Ritchie, Ronnie and Cozy could have been another Led Zeppelin.

  • @DMU555, no friend: not OZZY but: COZY! (Powell) ;-)

  • ritchieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • There is one person who don't like this...

    Is the king? ^_^

  • King of Salem

  • the GREATEST version of the song KILL THE KING by RAINBOW ...... bow your HEADS!!!!! \m/ \m/

  • yeah i thought that was dio's voice

  • What a brilliant band, they shone brightly and still do in the memories of the fans.

  • coooooooooooozzzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • @ScarletUtopia Ozzy? That guy that can't hold a candle to Dio?

  • Bob, your studio line for Kill the King is the MEANEST, MOST AGGRESSIVE line EVER!!! Now, over 30 years later, I still can't hear it enough and still get goose bumps when you hit the chord in the first chorus.

    Live long and hard…

  • One of the best from Rainbow

  • Blackmore's solo is insane!

  • Pure talent!

  • Titolo insolito per una band inglese :), however was the best Rock band ever made

  • let the soul of Cozy and Dio Rest in peace so they can ROCK with GOD in Heaven

  • rainbo is't metal band ; )

  • call me an idiot but looking at this in the side bar before checking it out, I was like "no way..." (at first I thought it would be the Megadeth Kill the King)

  • a rockeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar

  • i fucking love the bass in this song. dio, blackmore and everybody is best but somehow i really love the bass

  • Cozy rockin' that double kick!

  • Today's music can only dream to reach this state of perfection.

  • I miss them, Dio, Powell and Blackmore´s rock days! =,(

  • i love you DIO

  • every metal band wishes they could cover it but there is no singer like dio no metal bands got the pipes

  • What a voice!

  • Thanks Bob this is a great cut.

  • FUKING POWA POWA PAWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAA DEVAOARRRRRR ESTA DEVASTADOR

  • POOWEAAHHHH!!!

  • Dio, Blackmore, Powell, Daisley & Stone....the best Rainbow lineup, definatly. \m/

  • @SilverTounge85 Don't know if Stone, but I can def live with Bob playing for Jimmy

  • Those were the days..what a line-up!

  • I can't believe Ronnie James Dio's vocals in this clip! They're beyond amazing! I still say, if a voice could move a mountain, it would be Ronnie James Dio's.

  • @MegaOctober13 Amen to that .... was lucky to see Ronnie live only once and that was a few years ago but every time i listen to him it's like the 1st time all over again..........Ronnie we miss you...bet you're leading the choirs in heaven....make them rock Ronnie like only you can !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • r.i.p. to the metal god Dio

  • This was the definetive Rainbow-linuep.

Dio, Blackmore, Daisley, Powell and Stone. I love all Rainbow, with the exception of the 1995 'Stranger In Us All' release.

  • I think that every Heavy Metal band now would bust their balls to cover this one.

  • @codrutvoinea Heathen did a good job covering this song, but the original is best.

  • @codrutvoinea I think a Power Metal cover would sound pretty tight

  • @Dragula42

stratovarius has a cover, look for it =)

  • great stuff !

  • R.I.P Ronnie James Dio

  • Thanks for posting this Bob. Great sound and picture. Just don't get great music like this these days. Sad that Cozy and Ronnie aren't with us now. God bless all of you.

  • One of the best songs in the History ¡¡DIO RULES ¡¡
