Hi, noob question for everyone. I have Warband for while but i cant beat almost nobody.What is best settings for attack and block ? Mouse, keyboard, inv mouse or what. In fight i cant block at all, so all I do is random swinging and some lucky hits, in duel i am complete noob.Also seems everyone runs faster and hits also faster, i know thing about ecumbrance, but still..apperciate any help.

@julebrusernam Today I had learning session with one really good player, he taught me many things, but still he has about 1200 hours of multiplayer and he said that to learn basics you need 100-300 hours of practice, depending on your skill. I dont have much time at all. So i need to find some nowbie server to practice with people of my level.

u got something wrong: Left swing = slower but LONGER reach. And not that harder to aim at all. Right = faster and stronger but shorter reach.

@Darkis34 Only mod here was the map that I made in the scene editor. If you chamber block any weapon with your fist you take no damage, what might have been an early bug was left in for neat factor I think. I actually had a clip where he chambered 3 great sword swings in a row then smacked me in the face for the win, but I went with the SHORYUKEN instead ;)!!

What a great video. Thank you for making. In my younger days i could figure all this out with trial and error but I'm 41 and my eyes suck and my hearing sucks and I can't play as well as I used to. I learned a lot from this video that I haven't figured out after playing for a year. I usually get creamed in multiplayer and I'm only viable on a horse in single player. Now I am going to go practice what I've learned in the arena.

No problem! I wrote the guide and tutorial for just that reason. A lot of the mechanics that mattered were explained in beta patch notes and that is it! I'm 32 here but am in the same boat, I don't have time to learn things by trial and error anymore, tell me what does what, then I'll spend time learning to play correctly, rather than experimenting! Also FYI the kick stuff is outdated and acts differently, think of it now as a trap where you guess where they will be and kick as they come in.

@110ih no, they are all parrying (with 2hers), the chamber blocking is parrying for when you are using a shield and weapon (thus parrying with the weapon instead of blocking with shield). Since shields in this game block all directional. :D

I got this game today, I recruited around 20 men and keep getting asked to fight people with armies about 52 men big. I lose of course, but it's annoying because they take all my stuff, can anyone help me?

@TheSouljaProductions Happened to me a lot when I started as well. The best thing to do is not get into battles with larger forces, just by running away from them. Other than that, if you have skill points to spare, consider putting them in tracking, spotting and pathfinding. That will allow you to see where big parties have been, see them from further away and move faster in the map.

1) Amazing tutorial. I've only played Fire and Sword multiplayer, not Warband's, but I learned so much from this and your Warband Education vid.

2) The fact that you can parry swords with your fists is the best thing ever.

3) What did you use to record this? I want to make a Fire and Sword education video in the style of your Warband one because honestly the vast majority of FaS players suck, but FRAPS drops the framerate to unplayable levels.

most basic and effective strategy in the book.

archers: position the archers on top of a hill, and keep them close together.

Infantry: position the infantry at the base of the hill in a line. keep them close together.

cavalry: you and your cavalry need to either attack head on, or flank the enemy. take out the enemies cavalry first, then when you have the numbered advantage (of troops) have your infantry charge, and get the archers closer to the action.

I have never been into infantry. I do OK with archers, but i tend to do well with just cavalry and i butcher spear-armed infantry with my lance.

One of the biggest success achieved in Mount And Blade is the hitbox and the real time technical fighting rendering.

@MrXevier There is 0 visible indication of chain blocking it appears to be a glitch as there is no animation played at all. This game lacks visual cues, like I said Rune did far more like 10 years ago. Then again Rune was made by a real game studio.

The thing is it's decent hitbox, sometimes your weapons or shield will parrish even if you did not press any button just because your opponent's attack hit it

Anyway I dont really know if chamber is a glitch or not in the end, but what I know is that it does not seem unnatural to me.

It's based on timing, and skills, I've seen far worst glitches :p .

It's more a better version of Die By The Sword.

@MrXevier I am not saying it's a bad game, not at all but the blocking always felt awkward to me. I play mount and blade a lot and I still cannot shake the feeling that the blocking is awkward. The chamber blocking especially is awkward, add in latency problems with the game and the game becomes a train wreck.
