  • NICE

  • Rhythms of Life...they beat to their Master's pulse !

  • granda voz

  • crioulo is a portuguese dialect its not a language and to be technical "crear" means in portuguese to be" raised or grow up" and olo was what portguese sailers and colonist called the african huts and home in the 14th and 15th century puting the portguese and west african dialects together. same as brazil you have many dialects of portuguese, meneiro from minas garias and bahiano from bahia and cariaca from rio. read the baltazar lopes book "o dialect do crioulo de cabo verde" n ta sabi nho irma

  • You dont know nothing about BRASIL.... we dont have dialests... please come to Brasil and you ll see a great people wonderfull landscapes and learn more about us... we dont have monkeys in streets ok?

    you´re welcome

  • I treasure my African roots, and if somebody else does not -- fuckem. A person can claim to be a Guatamalan rooster, but if when I look at him and I don't see a rooster - then it's not a fuckin' rooster.

  • CV's got the curly hair from the portuguese and the big butt from Africa. There you guys have it. I wouldn't stare at a cv chick if it weren't for both features. Lmao!

  • @mercurej I feel you on that!

  • Izzy, it is not about denying African roots, but people like Fulani who claim that all cv's are African. If we have Portuguese heritage too, why should we deny that? Not every African was snatched from Africa. Not every African woman was raped by the Portuguese.

Muhammad Ali claimed that he was mixed because his great grandmother was raped by the slave master. He recently discovered that she was actually married to an Irishman. People make these Afrocentric claims without proof.

  • @BravaAl just a technicality, where does it say married women cant be raped by their husbands? and please tell me where do you think the ancestors of the portuguese come from, i mean where did they migrate from? nordic (vikings?) across the pyrennes thru espanha (magdalens?) from around the mediterranean (phoenicians?) Im just curious... rhetorically

    Cheers

    all the best in life!

  • @sakpase19 I am not sure what you are alluding to. My guess is that you are questioning my premiss that the history of race in cv, although tangentially connected to the history of Europeans and West Africans in the New World, is not the same. For reasons unbeknownst to me, not all European men formed relationships with African women. Assuming that you are Haitian, you know that the mulatto population in Haiti is very small, and historically very privileged. The same goes with English speaking..

  • @sakpase19 ...countries like Barbados and Jamaica. However, the Portuguese and Spanish countries are the opposite, Mulattoes are common. The same is found in cv. So far as the ancestors of the Portuguese being African, according to DNA studies, Mankind originated in East Africa and migrated throughout the world, but this was over 35,000 years ago. The last Africans to occupy Portugal were the Berbers who are dark people , but not Sub-Saharan people. CV culture is mixed between the two.

  • @BravaAl I respect your response

    all the best!

  • Fulani, bu e dodu o bu de fogo?

  • Comment removed

  • @fulani31 Fulani are you a fake verdean? Why don't you and I have a conversation in criulo if I have no ties to cv? You are telling because I am born here I can not speak for cv? Bo e dodu!

  • wat language is dat im hearing Spanish and something else. somebody tell me plz

  • it's Capeverdean (mix of archaic Portuguese and WestAfrican languages)

  • There isn't such thing as Capeverdian Language. It is Portuguese Creole. I'm from Cape Verde. It is Portuguese Creole.

  • Yes it is the language was developed in guinea Bissau. It has developed into a language of its own. I'm Cape Verdean too. Evey language develops of another language.

  • Shut up

  • Camundonguinho you are correct.

  • creole portuguese from Cape Verde

  • Crioulo is not portuguese!!!!!!!!

  • its PORTUGUESEcreole. dont get ur panties all in a bunch dude.

  • First: Im not a dude. Second: you are ridiculous and know nothing about CV.

  • It's a different language it consists of varies west African languages and archaic portuguese. It originated in Guinea Bissau. All language branch from others. Don't simplify things you know nothing about.

  • whatever.... -_-

  • @fulani31

Creolu did not originate in GB, it originated in CV. Why are you hellbent on making every CV a West African? I know this is you Sally.

  • @BravaAl

    Do some research please!

  • @BravaAl

Well its true every CV has west african an a lil' from other parts the portuguese brought a large amount of slaves from senegal, ivory cost and such to try and cultivate and provide for the economic needs of portugal. 60% of CV is Mulatto West african- portugese descent and 40% african decent...CV is a beautiful african jewel. It hurts me to see that there are ither CV's who deny what makes them Cape verdian..without the Africans it would be like another portugal.

  • @izzy52992 I think that you should have directed your comment at fulani, because she claims that every cv is African and denies the Portuguese part.

  • @BravaAl

you were not born there nor were your parents so stop trying to speak for us.

it's like Leo Dicaprio trying to represent Italy and speak on the dynanmics of Italian society.

  • @fulani31 You are not cape verdean. You are someone who wants to be cv. Why don't you prove me wrong and answer me in criulo being that you are more cape verdean than me

  • @BravaAl But alot of CV's i know not in my family tho...deny their african roots? yes there is a mix of african americans in the u.s but where i live ( near fall river) i hear alot of the portuguese slander the Cv and african ppl they have taken from the mother land...and it bothers me when anyone denies who they are its in the demographics and in blood.

  • @izzy52992 Izzy, it is not about denying African roots, but people like Fulani who claim that all cv's are African.

  • @izzy52992 Without Portugal, cv would just be another Africa. African Americans have made Americans who are of mixed afro-euro descent feel guilty about id'ing as anything but black. They have tried this with latino people, but it has not worked too well. CV's are usually non-confrontative people who will go along with the program and will not challenge the AA way of thinking when it is superimposed upon them.

  • @BravaAl

African Americans do not even know - or care that you exist. Don't flatter yourself that we care. Most of us couldn't find CV on a map if it was CIRCLED in red. so - get over yourself; we have people who are PROUD to be black. What we don't need to include is some half assed wannabes with no culture of their own begging white people to recognize your ... i don't even know what you people claim to be so it's hard to even insult you. In a word. WE don't know you. we don't like you. GO.

  • @fulani31 did you just noticed what u said??? If its a mix of languages you cant say it is portuguese!!! Anyway... You are being rude! We capeverdians are proud of our language!!!! Respect that at least!!!
