I agree with Cenk, painting and canvases are antiquated, just as I think in 50 years at the most, books will be antiquated, everyone will have an iPad or Kindle thing to download texts onto, and I'm sure we will create digital paper that we will use instead of real paper. Art is a creative expression, 'skill' is irrelevant. To be honest I find someone just painted a vase of flowers to be boring, I mean I can appreciate the skill it takes to accuratley capture how it looks, but I think someone trying to capture how and emotion feels (through any creative output) is much more exciting.
