• hey! i've got a question. Don't they have to wear white riding trousers and jacketts and a white blouse? because we here in germany have to ! would be great if somebody would answer!

  • @kiwiquien no the breeches can be tan or white (mostly Tan) you can have practically any shirt and jacket... hope this helps!

  • what a nice jump

  • when is this held, cause i show at the Buckskin worlds here every year

  • great job! wish i were that good:)

  • can I use these? I will be sure to give you credit! :)

  • Hey any idea on the height of this course?

  • I love your video you did really great!!!!!, what kind of horses did u ride, and what are their names?

  • uwent to thego show???!! Ithink im ging next year!

  • The very first gray horse was jumping around 3'6" or 3'9". The rest are around 3', 2'6" is much smaller than the height shown. We didn't do this show since we had just gotten our horse. But we do ride jumpers. Mostly too, a horse that does hunter and jumper is not good at both, they're good at one of the two styles. Meaning a hunter will not have the speed that a jumper does. So on and so forth. I come up against that ALL the time and its really annoying.

  • agreed. typically, a GOOD hunter won't have the speed and power that a jumper needs, and a jumper won't go calm/quiet and have a low, long stride to be a GOOD hunter.

  • acctually my hunter was and is still a jumper but i do hunters and jumpers on him and he always places in both

  • how high is this?

  • these are beautiful horses!

    very nice camera work

  • i for one love doing the hunter classes

  • well whats wrong with hunters?

  • oh....

  • you are a WONDERFUL rider!! Your position is perfect!!

  • None of those people are me.

  • your horses are stunning. excellent riding.

  • I have to say your jumping position is fantastic and you're a great rider!!:)

  • That black is stunning i must say :)

  • Oh yeah...simply mmmmm hunky haha!!!

  • the black is the worst jumper out of all of them!

  • I never said he was a super jumper or anything, I just said he was a stunning horse, which he is

  • i love the jumps in this vid.

  • this is one of my favorite videos!! i love it, its plain and im a jumper and love all the horses that u show on here!!!

  • I WENT TO THIS SHOW!!! Fun stuff :]

did you show or just come to watch?

  • goodbyebarbaro -- you can tell that it is a jumper class by the flags on the jump standards (there is a white flag and a red flag). There is also a lot more speed and some tack used on the horses that usually isn't allowed in hunter or eq classes. :)

  • oh wow u r sooo great u look great on ur horse how tall is he/she. hes really really cute though and u look fantastice onn him well i had one jumping lesson on my knew horse about a half a foot hehehe then a month later iu jumped him two feet in the events and three feet in the wam up u are great well some one told me my horse was to small to jump but hes tall

  • None of these people are me.

  • How can you tell the difference between Hunter classes, and Jumper classes? I know Hunter is when the horse is judged, and Jumper is getting around the course with in the time, with no faults, but how can you tell when Your watching it??

  • Well, it's really easy for me to tell them apart. Even in pictures! Normally hunters are a lot more relaxed and have really nice form over the jumps. Jumpers are more, I don't really know what other word to use, but hyper. Not all jumpers are hyper. They just know their job when they get in the ring. Hunters also must dress in show clothes. Hunt coat, breeches, tall field boots, etc. And jumpers get more freedom of what they wear. Also a lot of the time the tack is different in both disciplines.

  • Another way you can tell is by the course! Jumper courses tend be twisty, with brightly colored jumps and sometimes painted boxes, curvy poles, and funky standards. They often include lines of fences on an angle, triple combinations, and liverpools. Hunter courses tend to be decorated in natural colors (think brown, green, white) and decorated with flowers, evergreen branches and plain boxes and gates. The jumps in hunters are solider, to mimick natural jumps, whereas jumper jumps are airy.

  • Wow, how could I have forgot to say that!? I must have had a brain fart... :P

  • dude the gecko jumps been around texas too hahaa

  • my barn goes here :)

    ive never been though.

  • yeah! haha before i came to russell though...

  • o i miss jumpers*sigh* i got up ta 3' and den my horsey went lame so now im doing large pony

hunter and i like it but its not the same

  • u should do pony jumpers! there SO MUCH FUN!♥:p

  • hhaha eyah they are!!!!

  • Nice vid!

But by any chance do you know what height that is?

  • ohhhh!!! i see now! hahaha durr.

    thanks for clearing that up.

    (:

  • this is an awsome vid, im starting english, i am used to western barrels/roping but i thought if i wanted to be a "great" rider that i should also learn english, and let me tell you, i had my FIRST lesson today, and to all the ppl who call them "prissy" they need to go and try just to do the posture right, it is sooo hard!! after i got inside of a 2hr lesson, i was so dehydrated (because its 98 degrees) that i fainted, it is hard, and ppl are just judging btw really great vid

  • i've grown up riding horses and my mom showed them when she was young so she road english so that's what i started out on and yeah, when ur like 8 trying to post in the correct rythem with the horse and sit up straight, shoulders back, chest out, chin up...yeah it hurt for a while but you'll get used to it, promise. i've been riding english for about 10 years now and it's like second nature to me.

  • but it is like sooo hard lol, it so funny tho cuz my horse caught right on, its me who my trainer always gets on to, my horse did it the first day nearly perfect, the only bad thing is that he is SCAED TO DEATH of jumps!! any suggestions? he either flat out refuses it ow walks right through/over it, i cant even get him to jump it from the ground, HELP!!

  • well...i've never had that much difficulty with horses going over jumps but you just have to start them off slow. start with the pole laying on the groud and have him on a line and walk over it with him, repeat and just start getting faster and faster. after he has mastered that ride him when he goes over the pole. when u start putting the pole on the jump dont put it too high and start with the poles crossed instead of stacked ontop of eachother. make him comfortable with it and he'l do it fine

  • yah i have tried that, but if i even put it a lil higer then the ground he flips out and rears

  • Some horses can be put in both hunter and jumper depending on the breed, size and how in shape they are. My Thoroughbred is in both. We don't jump that high yet but my trainer is working at it.

  • KT Tunstall + hunter jumping = <33333!!

  • These look like jumper jumps ;P

  • Hunter jumpers like to spice up their jumps too at this level. xP

  • If you would read the description they were jumpers because it was both a hunter and a jumper show.

  • I know - but Im just saying.

I've seen these at Hunter Jumper shows.

  • This is a hunter jumper show. THIS IS JUMPERS!!!! HUNTERS DO NOT DO THIS!! THEY USE " NATURAL " FENCES!! Arghh

  • wait...if its a jumper show why is it a "hunter/jumper" show?

sorry, just a little confused. and i do know hunters use natural fences, i am a hunter myself, but it just doesnt make a lot of sense to me.

  • No No, it is both a Hunter AND Jumper Show. At another ring there was HUNTER CLASSES going on, while JUMPER CLASSES were at this ring. :))) Clear things up?

  • love the video but i hate the music

  • I love this music!!

  • hey, anyone go to the Blue Ribbon Summer Festival 2007 in waco?? and the gecko in the ch/ad/ jumper classic just had 2 rails shaped like an eyeball? (one hanging down, one standing up) wow that was bad...

  • i wasnt in that classic, but i watched it.

  • whoops that was to luvangel hehe.

  • OMG ITS THE GECKO JUMP!!!!!! hahaha memorieesss

  • was this in Purcell? JW where it is... I went to the one at OKC fair and it wasnt like this, these jumps are awesome I wanna do these. lol.

  • No it was in Tulsa.

  • your good!!

  • omg, i was at that show

  • love the video NICE horses!!great riding

  • awesome!! how high are these jumps?

  • I think they're probably somewhere like 2' or 3'. I hunt and I think I jump about that hight.

  • yeahh i jump too and i was thinking that they were like around 3'

  • These are more like 3'3ish

  • who is the rider and wat is the horses name. they look like a rly good team

  • cool! I have 2 horses.their names are samson and tody. tody is 6 and samson is 7.

  • gorgeous!! where was the audience?!

  • Great Video!! Awesome job for all the riders in the video. They all had great positions! (I'm gealous) =) Keep up the good work. I really like the song!! =)

  • id love to be able to jump like that again im just starting to jumping again on my new 7yr old teds boy after not ridding for 3 years were getting there slowly gr8 vid xx

  • whats the song called and i love da girls position over the jumps at the end.

  • i think jumpers are a bit more exiting than hunters...but starting out as a hunter is the key to a successful jumping career!!

  • sorry i didnt mean to write that! MY BAD

  • PRETTY! how much? and where is she at?

  • Are you riding?

  • Nope. I wish! HAHA! :D

  • lol!

  • Isn't this a jumper show??? Not a hunter show? Great video!

  • It's both. I've never been, but my trainer took her hunter and her jumper last summer. I heard they're really fun. :D I'm going to one this summer.

  • no it is hunter/jumper that is what i do, they aren't useually timed that is the big diffrence

  • ya but alot of people they show in the jumper but do it hunter style cuz alot of the time there the same course.... my friend does that all the time... lol

  • Yeah THIS part was the jumpers. There was like 3 other rings with the hunters. Thanx!

  • Ok cool. Great video! I loved it!!

  • I love K.T. Tunstall!

  • i went to that show what events did u do ????

  • hreat video

  • hunters are great for style and everything.. but there's something about jumpers thats soo much fun.. lol i do both.. Btw your grey horse is gorgeous.. ive got a thing for big greys lol

  • hey! awsum video, i show hunter/jumper. my old horse looks exactly like tht one!! i was wondering wether i could use parts of this video to make a h/j music video. i put u in my credits!

    please let me know.

    again, awsum video!

  • Hey, Greater Oklahoma shows. They're fun. I go to those things all the time.

  • love hunters! but jumpers a little bitty better....

  • neither one is better, they are equally fun. the difference between them is simply that in the jumpers how you look doesnt really matter, in hunters how you look is all that matters.

  • exactly...Sometimes at the hunter shows NOT ALL THE TIME the fellow showers aren't as friendly for some reason. no offense to you hunters, just saying my reason why i prefer jumpers. I love you guys

  • i love the style of the jumps

  • you are a great rider. i use to jump but i switched barns and started to get really in to hunter flat...well arabian classes. but every once and a while i really do miss being air born for like 2 seconds.

  • i just finished riding and it is awsome. i used to ride saddlebreads now im hunter jumper and it is much better

  • omg I went to OKC GO show for the first time this summer and I LOVED IT! my sister and I both did! Did you go 2 that one? And I want to say I have seen all of these horses there! but OMG awsome!!!! What did you show in??

  • Cool! No, I didn't go to that show this year because my horse isn't ready for it. But I'm getting a new horse in the spring of 2008 so hopefully I'll be able to do it in the upcomming years! I show in Long Stirrup but only because my horse is still VERY green. I'll be moving up VERY quickly with my new horse though! :D

  • lol omg the yellow one that looks wierd would have made my horse eather stop or over jump it lol.

  • LOL! :D

  • This Is SWEET! Do you ride?? The song is Big Black Horse And A Cherry Tree!

  • Thanx! YES I RIDE! Check out my channel. I have lots of vids of me and my horses! :D

  • What the fuck carold54 why does it even fucking matter

  • It matters if you're going to ride in a hunter/jumper show. You need to know what you're doing. Why the F would it matter to you!!!

  • you're making a big scene of this....AHEM if you aren't gonna say anything that is nice (or correct) then DON'T SAY IT AT ALL!!!

  • OMG! That's my friend Lex!

  • AWESOME!!! ♥

  • Cool! I'm sorry about your horse. I think she did pretty well winning second place considering she had a lung infection though! :D

  • The rider at 27 looks like the horse refused right when you cut it off. Did the horse refuse?

  • No, the rider was about to go through the timer thingy so she turned real fast. She wasn't jumping that jump though. :D

  • you are an awesome rider and wonderful horse!

  • Well actually, non of these riders are me, nor my horse! But thanks anyways! LOL! :D

  • where r u guys as in location not barn?and they r sooooo b...e...a..utiful horses

  • This was in Oklahoma! :D

  • i love the jump where the poles arent straight! thats one "cool thing". haha. good video!

  • Yea, thats like my favorite jump they use! Thanx! :D

  • i luv the jumps! lol

  • LOL! Me too! ;)

  • All these horses are so pretty! This video is really good. I love that grey! I want it! Haha. The rider is CRAZY good! Well, they are all amazing lol. :D

  • Do you guys not have rules where you have to wear show jackets?

  • Not in jumpers. But hunters, yes.

  • this vidieo is awesome

  • Thanx! = D

  • great video. the grey horses name is Lucy and the Black horses name is roxanne, they both are at my barn -Westlake show stables

  • Thanx! I LOVE the grey!!! = D

  • What year was that? I went I think last year or the year before, I dont really remember but I love going to the GO shows and watching, theyre awesome!

  • I'm pretty sure that the show was from this year. Yea, the GO shows are pretty cool!!! = D

  • Great show I love the grey horse I wish I had him but i'm 16 and I do jumping not hunter jumper i love my mare I might be going to the invatational I can't wait :-)

  • Cool! = D

  • what do you mean "jumping" not hunter jumper?

pretty much the only diciplines that do jumping are hunters jumpers and cross country

  • Huh?

  • A jumper is judged only on whether or not it clears the jump and possibly time. A hunter is also judged on it's stride, style, manners, etc. Hunter-jumper is actually an inaccurate term.

  • Well ok, but this show had hunters AND jumpers in it so thats why I named it what I did! :)

  • Yes, you were perfectly correct, I was refering to Barnbrat's comment. You can definitely have a hunter jumper show where both disciplines are offered. You can also have a horse that does both hunter/jumper, but they will be judged as I mentioned in my previous comment. I'm not trying to be rude, but it seems like several interested kids are responding to your videos; they really need to know the difference or it could cost them classes!! Excellent job on the videos, by the way!

  • Oh, ok! Yea, but what about like the Oklahoma Hunter Jumper Association, The Hunter Jumper Exhibitors of Oklhoma, etc.? Are they referring to both disciplines? Thank you! :D

  • Hi again; yes, they would include both disciplines, but again -- a hunter is not necessarily a jumper and a jumper is not necessarily a hunter, although some horses do both. It's kind of like the pinto-paint thing. Much confusion.

  • Yea it does confuse A LOT of people! They need to be more specific about it! LOL! :D

  • Haha, I'd hope they'd have trainers that would inform them about the differences between the two, but I guess you never know =).

  • beautiful show

  • Fabulous video! I am a big fan of the GO show.

  • Thanx! Me too!!! = D

  • im getting my 4th horse soon like this weekend! i race, barrel, cattle rope, and degasses

  • Cool! = D

  • Great video how high were they jumping about??

  • Well the grey, at the first of the vid, was jumping about 4'6"-4'9". I think the rest of them were jumping about 3'6"-3'9". = D

  • Ya thats what about i thought. Thanks!! :D

  • what was the show ranked? (A, AA etc)

  • I'm not sure, probably A. = D

  • oh, well this is an awesome video, great rider(s)

  • You can really tell the difference between eventers and huner/jumpers! Hunter/jumpers arch their back, and lean WAY too far forward on the horses neck. Eventers are all round and don't do the back arch thing and lean thing, well most don't. Loved the vid, great music!

  • Great Horses!!!!

Would love to own the first horse(the grey)!!!

  • Thanx! Me too! = )

  • I dont know of any Go shows around hear sounds fun though

  • They're only in oklahoma = )

  • Nice video! I love it!

  • Thanx! = )

  • Im showing at Waco!!!

This is a really good video, I think one of the riders name is Virginia Hames, I took a lesson with her when I first moved to Oklahoma. I used to live in Houston and I showed Texas Sporthorse A TON! But I love the geko jump! I tried to get my mom to buy it at the OKC show. HAHA

  • Do you live in oklahoma now? I really liked the geko jump too! It was my favorite = )

  • Hey do you show on the THJA circut we could meet up some time at some Waco, or Glen Rose or somthing

  • No, I show on the HJEO and OHJA circuts in Oklahoma. = )

  • o lol, well i m sure that we would meet tho cause our barn will do the go shows every once in a while.

  • I'm not a member of GO, but I go A LOT to watch those shows. So maybe we will see eachother! = )

  • its always nice meeting people who show at the same shows and stuff :)

  • Yea it is = D

  • YES! BLACK HORSE AND THE CHERRY TREE! KT TUNSTALL ROCKS! beautiful jumping!

  • Thanx! I really like her too! : )

  • what's this song called? (:

  • Its called Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. :)
