  • that was one cute gopher

  • I have this cartoon on what I wanna say is a Public Domain DVD with cartoons featuring Popeye, Betty Boop, Woody Woodpecker, Casper, Mighty Mouse, Little Audrey, and many others. This cartoon is on that DVD with the original Paramount titles (before this was licensed by A.A.P.). This is probably my favorite in that set. BTW, 4 people "hasn't got the heart to pull the trigger".

  • @bslatky That wasn't the original Paramount titles for Gopher Spinach. That was from Popeye for President, although the Intro was kind of like the original titles.

  • One of the first Paramount cartoons in 16:9 Vistavision.

  • the one reason i loved this episode was his reaction at 5:05, has to be the funniest thing i've ever seen :D

  • That gopher said it with his chest.

  • Uh huh huh huh, he said scattin and skeetin, uh huh huh huh

  • The Best Comedy I ever seen

  • now I know where they got the idea for the gopher and Carl in "Caddyshack"

  • You'd think the artists would have tried to make the spinach plants look like spinach plants.

  • plantfood = steroids

  • i though poppye is dead

  • YEAH IT TAKES BACK MEMORIES!!!!

  • 5:41 demon face

  • i can remember after watching popeye, not matter how bad it tasted i ate tons of spinach!

    it never worked though....

  • cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • popeye is definitely the best old school cartoon

  • I had this episode on vhs when i was little. I wtched the s*** out of it.

  • now the fletcher Popeye and the AAP popeye cartoons at the good ones.

  • funny

  • Popeye's reaction when he sees the bull charging him, at 5:05, has to be one of the strangest takes in cartoon history.

"Aaa... aaa... aaa aaa aaa aaa!" What the hell was that? I remember it freaking me out when I was a kid. It didn't seem funny. It seemed like he was in serious, mortal danger—the worst he'd ever faced in any of his adventures. I don't think I'd ever seen Popeye scared before.

Surely Sinbad's two-headed giant was scarier than that bull, but Popeye didn't seem to think so.

  • he says" agg, gagaga aaaaa" something like that

  • 4:40 touching

  • Lol

  • Olive Oyl doesn't appear in this cartoon.

Popeye battles a bull in this one.

    Not Bluto

  • cool i have this one a give you more raitings
