@Theatreguy34 I actually liked some of the stuff Cook performed.  I still don't get why America picked him, though. He seemed mundane and safe. Again, I'm having a lapse in memory...I can't even recall who David Cook competed against. But, I remember Carly.

@GospelAccording2ME It was Cook vs Archuleta. But Carly is AMAZING. I saw her on the Idols Live tour and she was even better live. I wanted the final three to be Cook, Carly and Michael Johns... Alas I was wrong *sigh*

@Theatreguy34 I envy you for having seen her live. In my humble opinion, Carly has one of the best voices in Idol history. Given the right circumstances, I'm sure she could have followed the same path as Clarkson and Underwood. There's still time. I don't think we've heard the last of her.

After Kelly Clarkson shes probably my favourite vocalist from idol. Its just a shame she wasnt as good a performer as say, kelly clarkson, and didnt get the right song choices. But you have to remember, she walked in from the street to an audition with THAT VOICE.

It's too bad that Simon criticized Carly's outfit in this performance. She doesn't look her best here but I thought the outfit made her fat body appear sexy. I also like her hair and make up here. She's actually cute.

Anyway, this is certainly one of those moments that I'll always remember about her. That voice... damn I want it for myself!!!

She wasn't fat but she definitely put on some weight during the course of her "Idol experience", that she has since lost. Some people lose weight under the stress of American Idol and others, like Carly, go the other way. Personally, I thought she looked great and sounded amazing on this performance. In retrospect, Simon's job here, in critiquing Carly, is to both fill the air time and say something critical to bring Carly down a peg. Mission accomplished, Simon, I guess.

I'm looking forward to her singing next tuesday....I wonder what she is going to wear, how she is going to act, what is going to sing, and how her voice will sound....and whether the judges will like it...and if she will pass through to next stage....phew.....she is about the only reason now that I bother watching american idol.
