@grouchomarxmusic I just can't agree with those sentiments and I don't think Metheny would either. It goes against everything he says about the making of music. The people who "hate it" are usually those quick to define what "is" and "isn't" jazz, to argue their own musical tastes with concepts like "purity" and "dedication the original" etc. All of these things Metheny has eschewed as much as he denigrates the idea of coming up with a jazz cannon. If I can play this cut for him I will.
