  • this came to me a little while on

if god wasn't involved in a setup, why the hell did he make this blasted tree in the first place?! if it was supposed to be so bad, WHY would a caring god make this tree in the first place? test of character? this god will take whoever is willing to accept him. what test of character is that? if they needed this fruit to make them smart and this god reacts negatively to it, it is clear he wanted them dumb. why try to tamper with it? this shows god tempts

  • Good question! It's clear the Genesis stories are myths taken from Babylonian myths when the Israelites were taken into captivity in the 6th century BC. But our Universe is not perfect and not design to last forever. So, it looks like we are being setup to fail in a creation that is not our doing.

  • it is not from shame they started wearing clothes. abrahamism tries to get you to hate the body to detatch you from the world and the physical realm. it is part of it's need to deprive humans of ambition in order to make them more dependant

  • @BaldBastard1488 What if Jews are right? What if Islam is right? What if Buddhists are right? If you're wrong, and live a good life, you still may go to Hell.

  • free will=illusion, vanity roman 8-20 we were subjected to vanity by god in hope. psalm 90-3 god turns man to destruction and says return. in a nutshell also for humor in a good way: judas is/was son of perdition, jesus gave him the sop after dipping, son=s of=o perdition=p cool ay?!

  • @markps78 Romans 9:11-21 makes God look more like an ass.

  • 1) You haven't done every line in the other videos. You largely paraphrased and threw in verses you chose to focus upon

    2) It never says Adam knows Eve will have children, the narrator makes a comment on marriages in the future

    3) not a curse of childbirth, but PAIN in child birth, not a curse to till, but tilling PRODUCING THORNS and eating BY THE SWEAT OF YOUR BROW. Clearly the narrative assumes the serpent was not always on its belly. You inject false contradition in the narrative

  • @IshMelamaid 1-The Genesis series developed after I did a few videos on various parts of Genesis. Some of the series were based on specific parts of it and not meant as a line by line critique. I renamed those videos to include it in the playlist since they were so closely related.

2-It's implied by the last line of Gen 2.

3-Read the original Hebrew. Some things are lost in translation. Also, you have to know more about the origins of the story PRIOR to Genesis to fully understand.

  • The important point in this section is causality. The rest is fluff. If it was only the fruit of the Tree that allowed people to know what was right and what was wrong, and Adam and Eve had no ability to discern... then there's no way that eating it could be a sin. Period.

  • Good video. Also consider this: With the tree being where it is, it would only have been a matter of time before SOMEONE ate from it. Even if Adam and Eve didn't, they would've had children who are, by nature curious and most certainly WOULD have eaten the fruit. Thus, Genesis taken as a literal creation story, we were set up to fail.

  • @BaldBastard1488 Pascal's Wager = FAIL.

  • He wanted to give us free will. In order to have free will, there must be a choice to make. In order to make a choice there must be an opposition. No tree, no choice, no life on earth, no you. The snake never told her she wouldn't die, he told her she would not SURELY die. You are trying to debate primal english interpretation with modern day rhetoric, by arguing symantics with King James' interpretation, not the word of God.

  • @BeStill85 WRONG! Without the tree, we'd still have choices to make. If you believe that God wrote the Bible (presumably to teach us what to do) then my suggestion that he didn't inform Adam and Eve enough to make the right choice is still valid. God simply producing a Bible to tell us what to do is taking away just as much "free will" as making sure Adam and Eve understood clearly the ramifications of their actions.

  • @KingHeathen Adam and Eve didn't even know death was bad or God was good. I find the concept of original sin stupid. How can babies be born sinners if sin is a bad choice and babies didn't choose to be born? I always ask theists if they would punish their grandkids on the behalf of their children. Of course they answer no and I use that logic with God and get the usual, he can do what ever. Of course I apply that with their absolute morality claims and show how plastic theistic morality is.

  • @SQuiRR3LM0nk3y

that's the whole reason why i think the satanic take on sin is better: any foolish or idiotic action that causes unpleasantness for the involved person.

It keeps it on a personal level because it is your life you're dealing with, and it places negative value on foolishness and preventing discomfort. in other words, the take is inherently positive and expects you to develop into a less idiotic person and seriously, the original sin was becoming smart? smartness is bad?

  • @BeStill85 Is God all knowing? If the answer is yes, can you make a choice God doesn't know? Of course you cant' because he knows thus limiting your "choices" only to what God knows. So much for freewill but check out Romans 8:29-30, and maybe 28, don't remember what that verse says exactly and Romans 9:11-21, I like this one better. Moses stumps him.

  • How do you know serpents crawled on their bellies before sin entered the world? You could not possibly know that.

  • @mickey42743 Are you suggesting that the serpent had legs? Because if so, it would have been a LIZARD!

  • @KingHeathen Who are we to say. I'm sure lots of things were different in the Garden of Eden from what we know to be true now. We know trees and water were certainly more powerful than anything we have outside of the garden. You are only assuming that a serpent would have crawled on it's belly then.

  • @mickey42743 FACE PALM!

A serpent with legs IS A FREAKING LIZARD! Who are we to say that? We are people with DICTIONARIES!

Come on Mickey...you are merely asserting speculations that aren't even based on any kind of justification. It's essentially just you going "uh uh!"

  • @KingHeathen What do you think you are doing? You are only assuming what things would have been like before sin entered the world. You are wasting your time. There's no way you will ever know that. Dictionaries are not the inspired word of God.

  • @mickey42743 Neither is the Bible.

  • Free will. Enough said.

  • You did make one mistake.Eve's punishment wasn't so much that she would have child birth now. After all God said to all the creatures of the earth to be fruitful and multiply. The Punishment was that she would have horrible pain during child birth.

I've never seen another animal give birth before but I'm assuming that humans aren't the only creatures that go through pain giving birth.

  • I tried pointing this out to my mom, she doesn't understand that if Eve was in the kitchen, this wouldn't have happened.

  • first off Genesis says surly you will die not at that moment second of all he put the tree there so that they would choose him instead of being forced to love him kinda like a robot and a dog you make a robot it dose everything you say because it was made that way ,you may love the things the robot does but you don't love the robot its self but if a dog listens to you, you love it because it listened on its own free will thus God placing the tree in the garden

  • @talkercv Blah blah blah...robots...yeah, I've heard that one a thousand times already. Watch "Domo Origato Jesus Roboto"

  • @talkercv so, the only way your feeble god could make us not be robots is too make "sin" come into the world which supposedly causes everything bad? children being raped or dying from horrible deseases is part of this "sin" and your god was so pathetic that that was the only way he could have did it? not to mention that he picks a human sacrifice of himself to save you from a law he made himself, goddamn the bible is a load of EPIC FAIL

  • @blazereef well first off sin didn't come from God it came from satan and the demons because they were so jealous of the human kind and second of all i know that you probably wont believe unless there is great proof or you experience God your self so you should at least give it a chance

  • @talkercv i have gave religion a chance, it has failed every test i have thrown at it, it has failed every test for the, well, since it began, religion is the failed hypothesis. the demons created the sin? god let them fuck up his creation by creating sin? if so, your god is pathetic and my little cousin would make a better god then him

  • @blazereef ok then what tests did it fail? and i was a christian my whole life and just recently manifested the holy spirit now i know for a fact that Christianity is not a religion its a way of life and satan took 1/3 of the angels with him if he didn't create sin someone else would of

  • @talkercv Where did Satan come from?

  • @KingHeathen well think about it 1/3 of the angels went with satan they were all angels and the rest of the angels stayed with God he gave them the freewill of worshiping him and doing whatever but satan since he was the smartest angel he though he was better then God so he tempted adam and eve and God wasn't very happy and yah you know the story and another thing what kind of church did you go to? and when you used to read the bible when you believed did you pray b4 reading?

  • @talkercv You didn't answer the question I was actually after...I'll rephrase it....who MADE Satan and those other angels?

  • sad women, god aint real :)

  • 1 Samuel 11:1 Nahash the Ammonite.. Now if you translate Nahash, it means Serpent. Does that mean he was talking snake as well? By the way On thy belly shat thou go and dust shall thou eat, is a hebraism for humilation and utter defeat. Ps. 44. 25 ''For our soul is bowed down to dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth''

Ps. 72:9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shal lick the dust.

Eze 28: 18 I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth

  • I agree a talking snake is ridiculous. Thank God Genesis doesn't describe a talking snake.

  • well see, actually they later edited out of the bible the parts where adam and eve shout "What the fuck is childbirth and knowledge and children , for that matter?" now do you see?

  • Wait.... did you just say "heathen-land?"

    I think I just ___________.

    (You finish the sentence)

  • Well, since Eve ate and got the knowledge of good and evil, why would she give the fruit to Adam?

  • YES! The sadistic bitch!

  • I am totally with you - and shall be uploading my own opinion on genesis soon.

  • the crusificion of a "god" in the flesh, what did he sacrifice ok he suffered "deserved it" hello creator of the thing should experience it. and then he "died" hes eternal still no real sacrifice then the short visit to hell if hell is torment , how do you torment the trinity? how does he suffer? where do i need to start feeling sorry for this all powerful being who spent a day in the life, big deal. not getting any cool points for it because WHAT did he lose? sacrifice, essentially. nothing.

  • What i mean is if jesus and god are one in the same then having been consious and all knowing then after an eternity has"taken place" before he became mortal then the sacrifice dosent seem to make much scence hes eternal what did he lose? he expirienced a few days of torture wow, people in indonesia have it much worse every day all day their entire lives, he basically pinched himself and said oh this sucks look at me i endured something that i witnessed the creation of, pain. sorry i dont see it

  • Yeah thats what the HOLEY bible says, it also says jesus a.k.a. god as a mortal went to hell for like a few days, some say that translates to a few hundred years there aww, thank you god for enduring hell, but if hell is a spiritual place the you werent jesus anymore you where all powerful holyspirit so you didnt endure anything. its really not a sacrifice if your immune to the thing. so no simpathy here gods still an A-hole. A myth but An A-hole none the less.

  • God set us up to succeed, we just haven't succeeded yet. In the end we will all succeed.

  • who told you that? They are lying big time. Look around...does it look like god set us up to succeed?

Throughout history, all god has done is made men kings, caused horrific wars, and kept the masses ignorant.

  • Why do you assume that someone told me that?

"does it look like god set us up to succeed?" What is worth doing is always hard. Otherwise everyone would be doing it and therefore, it would not be worth doing.

  • So by you saying god set us up to succeed, you really mean he set us up to fail. Or maybe you mean god helps those who help themselves, even though this is never written in the bible, lots of religious people like to say it. To me it means god doesn't do shit and if you want something done, do it yourself.

  • We may fail in the short run but in the LONG RUN we will ALL SUCCEED. We are working towards a very worthwhile goal.

  • What you wrote above implies that we were setup to fail, and only through hard work and a long time will we reach our goal of success. That is reality, and in reality nothing is "setup" to succeed. This would mean success would be effortless and it's harder to fail than to succeed. I would love to live in that world, but unfortunately it is not here on earth and the future doesn't look too bright either. I would like to see a world in peace with no religion. Do you have the same idea of success?

  • The goal is returning to God in heaven, returing to God is the 'success', but the process is not as simple as that.

There is more to reality than you or i can imagine. The forces that are at work right now are so great i try not to attempt to comprehend them all. Doing so would surely result in insanity.

I once wondered why God doesn't 'make' the world a more peaceful place too. But, i understand why it has to be this way. The world wouldn't be doing its 'job' if there was total peace.

  • Maybe your goal is to return to god in heaven. That seems pretty easy if you ask me. Basically give up your life and become a robot for god. How hard is that? The church gives you a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear and you get to ensure your place in his kingdom. How hard can it be?

The problem I have is I don't believe any of it.

    Religion segregates people.

  • Give up your life? I think giving up your life is not following the one who created us's orders.

And i gave up church. It does no more than provide a social occasion. So no religion does not segregate people.

  • Maybe a better way to put it is give up your freewill. Which is basically like giving up your life. No more choices, everything is explained to you in the bible. Do what gods says, that's it.

Very religious people are segregated, because they like it that way. They don't want to be around people of different faiths. That's why religions congregate, so they can bring the religiously like minded together. Mormons don't even let other people into their churches.

  • I'm not Mormon, I've been to several of Mormon churches. They just don't let anyone who is not mormon into the "sacred ground" of their temples.

  • Israel is 99.9% jewish. The middle eastern states are 99% muslim. These are very religious places that are very segregated. Of course the US and Europe are not as segregated because less people are religious.

  • Of course, my understanding of 'how and why everything works' isn't quite something i can't prove with complex mathematical equations or intricate tests. The process of life/existences is MUCH too complecated to be understood with the knowledge we currently have.

Anyway, expect nothing, never give up, go for the win, give help where it's needed and do your best so the world will always be a bright place for you.

  • That is a narrow minded view. I can't tell myself everything is fine when innocent people are dying in unjustified wars, when poverty is increasing all over the world, when disease and cancer are caused by the very products being shoved down our throats, when we are destroying the very planet that sustains us. I think religion has caused much more problems then it will ever resolve.

  • I didn't say that everything is fine. I said everything is going to plan. Actually, my main goal in life is to help other people. God will help me acheive my goal. So in this case, my beliefs (not religion) will resolve more problems than it causes. But your're right, in most cases religion is very destructive and barbaric.

A person with an incorrect religion is the most dangerous weapon man has ever created.

  • death?

  • and eve and all those stories are just that stories made up to try an explain how we got here and how the earth was made. i am a 16 year old christian catholic who goes to a catholic high school and don't get me wrong i have no problem with people who don't believe in god. half of my friends don't. but i just find people like you who don't have all there facts strait are very ignorent and should know what the truth is before you go bashing other religions.

  • On a separate note, I realize that Catholics (most of them) accept evolution and realize that Genesis isn't a history lesson. What you SHOULD be doing here though is letting the OTHER denominations know that you AGREE WITH ME on these things...this video is against those that think Genesis is REAL. You AGREE with me that it isn't...say that instead of suggesting I get my facts "straiGHt" or claiming I'm "ignorAnt."

  • @KingHeathen a christian call an atheist "ignorant" of the facts of the christian religion, oh man that is halarious

  • ok i am a catholic and i just wanted to tell you im 16 and i do believe in god if you knew anything about the first couple of books in the old testament you wouldn't have made this video

we learn from religious leaders and teachers in school that the early books of the old testament aren't real they were fables created for why we exisits no one knows what happened at that point in time no one has any clue adam

  • Yes colin...when I was 16 I thought I had all the answers too. I was a Christian then as well.

The thing is that while YOU say that Genesis consists of fables, there are plenty of others that don't think so. THAT is who this video is directed to.

However, I'd like to point you to the genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3. Jesus is the descendant of a fable...so what does that say of him? Where in that genealogy do people stop being fables and start being real?

  • @KingHeathen lol yeh, the jesus genealogy is a good responce to the " its a fable" i think that people only now beleive that is not a real story because they realize how massively insane that it really is

  • @colin0the0magicman If Genesis is not real then the fall is not real.If the fall is not real then Jesus had no real reason to sacrifice his life and Christianity's whole premise would make no sense.

  • if they can't even see that they are naked cause its "evil" why can they even see this serpent? Why does the tree only manifest "good" feelings in eve, reassuring her enough to eat it? Again, if they don't know good from evil, how does the fruit appear "pleasing". How are they supposed to know looks can be deceiving? Shit, deception still rules the world...thanks a lot god.

  • the0truth0hurts, i can answer some of your questions. "if they can't even.." Being naked isn't evil. The snake represents sin (temptation) and they can definately see that. The reason they arn't embarrassed for being naked is because they have not eaten from the "tree of knowledge" or the forbidden tree.

  • oh, now I get it. So they don't know to be embarrassed because they haven't eaten the apple. And they don't know what temptation is because they haven't eaten the apple. Since god didn't tell them not to listen to temptation aka the snake, something god knew they would see and feel, I can't see how they are to blame. Their innocence is pure and unfortunately god made them to be spoiled. One could argue the same about this world, if god does exist.

  • "Why does the tree..." Getting away with wrong acts that you committed can make you feel "good". The temptation can also make you feel "good".

"Again, if they don't..." A person doesn't have to know that they are doing wrong for them to derive "pleasure". Tempatation makes the fruit appear "pleasing" and the fact they don't know right from wrong only increases the temptation.

  • one would have to know what they were doing was wrong to feel this pleasure you are talking about and I don't think adam and eve really knew what they were doing or feeling.

The fact that they don't know what they are doing increases the temptation? That doesn't make sense. Something is not a temptation unless you know it is wrong or bad. That's why it's called giving in to temptation or deliver us from temptation. If you don't know it's bad, there really no decision to be made. ie adam/eve

  • waaaaiiit

If eve eats from the fruit and gains the knowledge of good and evil why the hell would she give it to adam?

  • How did the snake get there? did god create the snake as well? surely this snake deserves mentioning over whales and cattle.

also sin is allowed by god, because unless there exists both good and evil then free will and giving humans the ability to choose good over evil also wouldent exist. doing good glorifies god and that is supposidly the whole porpose for our existance... to enjoy glorifying god; god would be "ungodly" had he not created us to be able to enjoy him.

    -athiest interpretation

  • meh i forgot to edit...

  • maybe god asks questions he already knows the answers to because he has low self confidence and needs to constantly test his psychic visions to see if they are true :S

  • interresting? men wrote the bible for god they did the best they could at the time.

  • I have said this, in exactly the same words you use, for many, many years. I also say that free-will is just an excuse 'men' have given us to explain why God didn't make us perfect beings. We are made in his image but not in his greatness. If this were true, it seems to me, that God is the most egotistical being ever! Why did he create us anyway? Was he lonely? Even still though, he made us not as equals but as lessers. Our faults are all...his fault! He knew that most of us would fail.
  • It would seem, if some being did this, it's almost as though he wanted to sift through all of the bad apples for the very, very few good ones........but why? We who fail should not have to suffer eternal damnation for making us what he knew to be failures in his eyes. All to maybe, find himself his true loyal followers?? WTF? How much more egotistical can anyone be?? Check out my recent video 'Why do we need a God'.
  • You should have you're own TV-show, you are both smart and entertaining.

Btw , have you ever talked to Richard Dawkins?

If I was Dawkins I would adopt you in a heartbeat or at least give you a call. ;)

  • I have had a brief conversation with Dawkins. I got to meet him at a debate he had. I have footage of it on my channel. I even get him to say "Hello Heathens".

  • you opened my mind pretty much more then its ever been

  • Thanks.

There are a lot more. put in the search bar: "age of the earth".

  • You also said that Kent Hovind has bin proven wrong by scientests. Thats the exact oposite.

For example look at these in Youtube:

    -"hovind rainbow debate"

    -"hovind debate"

    -"Kent Hovind Gets Destroyed"

    And a lot more.

Bro Im praying for you, because look at what Jesus said in Matthew 18:6.

Once again whit my Christain love. Jesus also said to love those who dispice and hate. So quess what bro I LOVE YOU.

But I do HATE the SATAN and his falling angels(demons) in YOU.

  • God didn't set us up to fail. We failed and God set us up to succeed.

The Garden of Eden was Heaven in this metaphorical story. Once again King, your argument only questions literal creationism.

  • GOD LOVED US SO MUCH THAT HE GAVE US FREE WILL, WE COULD DO WHATEVER WHAT WE WANT, BUT GOD HAS CONDITIONS AND CONSEQUENCES WILL HAPPEN, BAD ONES IF WE DO BAD THINGS...........He didn't make us to make robots for Himself. He wanted to see if we would still love and obey Him even if we are in Eden (PAradise) GOD DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY WOULD DIE THAT instant, HE MEANT THAT THEY will DIE, THEY WILL BE proned TO DIE!

Repent God knows everything and I know that He is seeing you die in Hell

  • Is God omniscient? If yes...

Can he see the future? If yes...

Does he already know what we will choose? If yes...

Then what's the point in free will? He wouldn't need to see IF we would obey...he'd already know.

  • but see we can still choose to belive or not

even if he knows whats gonna happen we can still choose its up to us.

  • You didn't read the last two sentences, did you?

  • Storacle #1 - The Millennial Man

And this one is from pastor Dough Bachelor.

By the way, I dont mean to be sarcastic to you whit my previous reaction. I think I hit the nail on the head in your case.

So respect bro, from me to you whit my christian love. And to everybody esle who reads my 3 reactions. Peace!!

  • (Kent Hovind) Creation Seminar 2 The Garden of Eden Part 3

copy the text above and put it in the youtube search.

Listen bro. This is your problem. You look at the words but dont look for the meanings and the dept of the words. For example the alphabet is 26 letters. You look at these letters and go.. how could all these books bin written from just 26 words.

So please listen to dr Kent Hovind and pastor Dough Bachelor. Because you are deceiving people whit your ignorance. Satans work bro.

  • Listen to these man. Dr Kent Hovind and pastor Dough Bachelor. they will give u all the answers. Read more carefully before you call the Bible CRAP!

Let me start blowing your mind by teaching you a gift that GOD has given mankind in the first page of Genesis.

Genesis chapter 1 vers 29. The cure and prevention for CANCER!!!!!

Is says that you should eat the fruit AND THE SEED. It does not say, eat the fruit and throw the seed away. In the seed is VITAMINE B17 wich litterly kills cancercells.

  • LMAO!!!!! Kent Hovind? Dr. Dino? Mr. TAX EVADER! That's what you've got to counter with?

Hovind has been exposed as the retarded moron that he is so many times by REAL scientists that it's laughable that ANYONE still follows him.

    Yet here you are.

Oh, and publish your "Cancer cure" for the world...you'll either win the Nobel Prize....or get laughed out of the building. Give it a shot; let's see what happens.

  • Listen to Hovinds answer about his TAX story: Kent Hovind's recorded phone conversations from jail! # 1

The goverment and medicine industrie are very thight buddies. They make BILLIONS whit chemo therapy and other medicine. One kilo -bag of chemo is about 10,000 Euros.

Just think about how may people got cancer. Here in the Netherlands its the nr.1 cause of dead. So doesnt that ring a bell to you BRO??

So ofcourse Vitamine B17 and Genisis 1:29 wil be rejected.

    And dont forget D.Bachelor.

  • i like ur stuff, but in this vid, your supposing that real physics and relity apply to the story. Christianity has no psychics

  • Yes is absolutly does. Take a little time to look at this siminair. Put the following in the Youtube search bar:

    KENT HOVIND: CREATION SEMINAR

  • The fact that there is a tree of knowledge indicates that being naked was wrong BEFORE Adam and Eve ate from it, just that they didn't know about it, yet still, God didn't mind, so God didn't know about good and evil too ?

  • love you :D

  • and awareness that We need to humble the self ..to the CREATOR ...of all ..yet we don't understand WHY

  • Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eat thou shalt surely die.Note "thou shall "surely" die.sptiritually..I ve learned to see the story of eden as symbolic ie the tree of knowledge represents sex caused the most major birth defect but as they were naive .GOD knew this ...thus they were set up for failure !!! Since EVE was taken from ADAM their dna was as almost identical/// But they are given a WAy back.enlightenment

  • in the bible, it says that if they eat from the tree, they shall die in THAT DAY. not spiritualy

  • in dfense of the lunacy that is the bible if i recall right from my years in catholic school eves punishment wasnt childborth but rather the pain of it that and i think menstration. i guess these two things were going to be somehow painless but then god said no you ate my stupid fruit now you suffer

  • That's how I remembered it, but now we have the problem of the earth being a finite place, housing a possible infinite number of people The story just doesn't make sense, thought it begins to make sense when you look through the lense of him trying to set us up( he made sex organs and gave us a sex drive so we could reproduce, because he knew we wouldn't last long enough to over populate with our immortality, he made the animals out of the stuff we need to survive...)

  • If i said "love me or I'll peal off your fingernails, smash your knees with a hammer, and set fire to your body!" would you love me. God created the lake of fire, he created evil, and he created Satan. And you call him a loving father. God harden Pharaohs heart just to show how great he is. He could of come down like a pillar of fire as he dose later in the story, and Pharaoh would of not only released them but worship God also.

  • I think it's painfully obvious. The story is a story. It's poorly written and so was not popular. However, if you take bad writing and make it a religion instead, suddenly all is forgiven and the story becomes very well-known. Just look what it did for L. Ron Hubbard?

  • ome on L.Ron Hubbard wrote a better book.

  • This discussion would have never needed to take place if people just thought LOGICALLY

  • But that's just it, isn't it? The character God in your book "The Holy Bible," isn't a just judge. Any deity that punishes me infinitely for a finite crime is unjust. Think of it this way, you wouldn't lock your son up in the basement FOREVER for not believing you exist? If you would, please go see a doctor.

  • Also, I don't see how you can interpret "furnace of fire" as anything else but burning for eternity.

  • The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:41-42)

    Maidah {5:37}

((They will long to get out of the Fire, but never will they get out therefrom; and theirs will be a lasting torment.))

Funny how I could find it and it's not even my religion.

  • Sorry, that "Maidah" is from Muslim, which is not your particular version of the religion (I assume). Here's one from your bible.

Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

  • Very well spoken sand I admire you for your comments.

  • Eternal torture for finite "sins" is not love. That's a nice word salad you have there, though.

  • But he doesn't really give us a choice. He gives us a set of rules to live by. He says, "Love me and forsake all other gods, or you will burn in hell for eternity." It's not really a choice if I have a gun to my head. He's supposed to be a loving and just god, yet he doesn't bat an eyelash at eternal torture?

  • I wear clothes so I don't get arrested, that's about it.

  • And you felt that so unbelievably relevant to speak of now? Fascinating.

  • The video is about Adam and Eve and they find out that they are naked and clothe themselves...

Craydon was commenting on their "shame" and having to wear clothes.

Not that hard to understand really.

  • Alright, I appreciate you explaining, I'll rememer it. Good luck with your future endeavours.

  • where in the bible does it say God can see into the future?

  • God makes prophecies...this is done by foretelling the future.

Plus, the common definition of "god" includes "omniscience" which would give such a being this ability.

  • It seems like St. Augustine crafted the familiar definition of god. There are elements of conventional christian belief that were later appendages, not exactly bible based.

There is a line in the bible that claims god knows the number of hairs on your head, and from this omniscience was assumed. God would have had to have known he would be so angry with his creation that he would opt to destroy it by flood even before he finished the six day creation bit.

  • LMAO, you believe in God, yet ur God cant see in the future. WOW. youve got a serious problem. That being the case, i guess jesus wasnt sent to be crucified for ur sins. if god cant see in the future, how would he kno jesus would be crucified for ur sins. man ur pathetic.

  • Science is rejected when it goes against cultural presuppositions. The concepts of the earth revolving around the sun and evolution were/are condemned even when supported by undeniable evidence. Now we have a science of human behavior that is also undeniable and explains why people accept things based on evidence or superstition, but it is also completely rejected. Too bad because people wouldn't be baffled by moral behavior or any human behavior if it was understood.

  • A persons morality is based on an evolutionary history, environmental history, and the current situation. A person's moral behavior is the result of consequences.

  • A person is either reinforced for their moral behavior and they become moral or they are reinforced for immoral behavior and are immoral. Of course it is much more complicated than that. We have very different repertoires of consequences that effect us(some positive, some negative, different schedules, different rates, different situations, etc... ) and every experience changes us, but the reason we behave morally, immorally or both is all based on the consequences of our behavior.

  • if your definition of perfect is without sin, i suggest a non christian dictionary... a actual perfect being COULD NOT FEEL PAIN, COULD NOT BECOME HUMAN AS WE ARE NOT PERFECT. like i said perfection CANNOT deviate from itself. also, if god needed mankind to have a choice, why not "hmm should i eat an apple or an orange", not "hmmm should i eat from this tree because i have no idea what will happen".

  • what does ANY of that have to do with what i said...?

  • either god knew he would "sacrifice himself" or he doesnt know anything that will happen, free will has nothing to do with it. also what kind of sacrifice is it when hes all powerful? how can a perfect being feel pain? how can a perfect being deviate from perfection? not very consistant dude

  • nah. heathen yes atheist no.

  • the logic you attempted to use there was painful to watch. How do you see that supporting your case?

  • Interesting fact: In the Koran there is no snake and Eve isn't the one who is "seduced" and "seduces" Adam. The story there is, that Satan "seduces" both. And this notion, namely the inferiority of women over men which is apparent in the Bible doesn't exist in the Koran. Does that mean that fundamentalist Muslims are "better" than their christian counterparts? No, because they ignore such things. But an interesting fact nevertheless ;)

  • God has no free will. An omniscient God has complete knowledge of every action he will make in the future, and therefore has no choice but to commit such actions. A perfect God only has one choice to make (the best choice above all other choices). A God that exists outside of Time has no free will to change his mind about anything, because there is no future choice to be made in a "void" without Time. A God without free will has no control over anything.

  • For God to have free will, he cannot be perfect, omniscient, or exist outside of Time. If God is not perfect, omniscient, or exists outside of Time, how is he God? If God is perfect, omniscient, and exists outside of Time, he has no free will or control over anything. If God has no control over anything, how is he God?

  • They knew what "right" and "wrong" was! "Right" was obeying God; "wrong" was disobeying God. That's why He gave them the EASIEST test there was. Adam's penalty was that he would have 2 work (and sweat) for the rest of his life, to get food. Eve's penalty was she would give birth in pain. The same was true 4 their descendants. The snake would have 2 crawl (slither) on it's belly, because it had been used by the devil. Snakes may have been able 2 fly before this. It's in a tree, not on the ground.

  • No, He didn't. He gave our 1st parents (Adam & Eve), the EASIEST test ever, to c if we would obey Him or not. They failed miserably.

They did begin dying that day. Before, they were immortal. Now, they are mortal. They are dying. They also did die that day. The Bible says "a day is as a 1000 years and a 1000 years is as a day to God". Adam and Eve did not live until they were 1000. They therefore died in that day. The fruit didn't fall off the tree; nothing died yet.Snake+satan=posessed snake.

  • That "day is as a thousand years" thing was just an excuse to try and explain why Jesus hadn't returned, despite his promise to come back during his follower's lifetimes. The snake was just a snake. If it was possessed, then why was it described as the cleverest of all animals? The bible implies that it was acting on it's own intelligence, and its species was punished. God didn't punish the devil, he punished the snake. Not really fair, as the snake was telling the truth and God was lying.

  • Jesus will return after the six days (6000 yrs.) are up. Guess what day (to God) it is now? Jesus will return very very soon! Jesus did return during their lifetime. After He rose from the dead, he returned to talk with them. He will come again at the "end of time".

The snake was "used" by satan, just like sinners are used by satan. God said "you will surely die". But Satan said to Eve,"you won't really die". Oh ya, where's Eve now? Dead. Satan is a liar, God is truth.

  • Jesus repeatedly stated that the second coming of Christ (i.e. Armageddon) would happen while people of his time were alive. I tell you the truth. All these things will happen while the people of this time are still living! The whole world, earth and sky, will be destroyed, but the words I have said will never be destroyed! Matthew 24: 34-35 And if the snake was used by Satan, then it wasnt really Satan, any more than you are Satan when you sin.

  • "This generation shall not pass", means the generation he is talking "about". The generation that sees all these things mentioned, happening. It doesn't mean the generation he is talking "to"!

Satan tempts us to sin. Some people are "posessed".

  • You are using a "bad" translation of the Bible. Try using the "better" KJV of the Bible. It is more accurate than other translations, but still has a few "bad" translations in it. Like "bottomless pit" for example. If we all knew ancient Hebrew and Greek, and had the original books/letters etc. we would all be closer in our beliefs. But because the devil wants us to be deceived, he has tried to "wreck" (modify/change) the Bible.

  • Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Matthew 24:34 KJV

Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Mark 13:30 KJV

Truly I say to you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Luke 21:32 KJV

I dont know why you would trust King James I to make a correct translation anyway. He was as gay as they come a true devils pawn if ever there was one.

  • "This generation" is the one He is talking about. Not the "generation" He is talking to!

King James didn't do the translation, he allowed it to be done. He had "homosexual" tendencies, but knew that the Bible was important to the people.

  • Verily I say unto you, There be SOME STANDING HERE, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

    Matthew 16:28 KJV

  • Yes. Read the next chapter... Jesus is talking about Peter, James and John. They get to see a glimpse of how Jesus will be, when He "was transfigured before them; and His face did shine as the sun, and his raiment (clothing) was white as the light. And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias (Elijah) talking with Him". Moses is a symbol of those "who died and were resurrected" and Elias (Elijah) as those "who did not see death". They did get to see Jesus like in "the second coming". :)

  • The thing is, all of these scriptures are open to interpretation. If a prophecy is fulfilled, it is a "proof." If a prophecy fails, there is always a way to make an excuse. 2 Peter chapter 3 pretty much acknowledges that Jesus said he would end the world in his disciple's lifetimes. The excuse is that God is very old; perhaps he doesn't keep track of time as we do.

  • 2Peter chapter 3 and what verse?

  • 4 to 9.

  • I read 2Peter 3:4-9 There is no mention of the world ending in "their lifetime".

2nd part: It is saying that God has been around for a long time, and that to God a day is as a 1000 years and a 1000 years is as a day. It also means that to God, time doesn't affect Him. The Bible says "God is the same yesterday, today and forever". God says "I am the Lord thy God, I change not".

  • This book was written significantly after the time of Christ. People had caught on to the fact that Jesus' words seemed false.

"They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.""

    2 Peter 3:4

Even though Jesus specifically indicated that he would return in that generation, it didn't happen. If you change the meaning to fit with reality, then prophecy becomes unfalsifiable and therefore, worthless.

  • This book was written down by the eye-witnesses of Christ: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and others; Paul, Timothy, James etc.

2 Peter 3:4 is talking about what people at the "end of time" will be saying.

Jesus NEVER said He would return in their generation. I'm not changing the meaning.

  • "end of time" meaning just before the "second coming" of Christ. :)

  • No, they aren't really. The Bible interprets itself. If you want to know what most of the symbols in Revelation mean, just look in Daniel, and other books in the Old Testament.

  • The bible can have many interpretations; hence the different christian denominations and their various beliefs. I could argue that since Moses broke the original ten commandments, Exodus 34:10-28 shows the "true" ten commandments. Forget about lying, stealing or killing: instead, "Thou shalt not cook a goat in it's mother's milk"!

  • The christian denominations are because of selfishness. If we (Christians) would put away our own interpretation of the Bible, and let the Bible interpret itself, then there would be ONE church.

That's just the Mosaic law (written by Moses on animal skins (bark?), not the Ten Commandments (written by the finger of God in stone).

  • Actually, Exodus 34 has ten new rules. It finishes with. "Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the TEN COMMANDMENTS." Exodus 34: 26-28

  • I won't argue about the validity of this. It says it in the bible, these ten new rules are the ten commandments. I suppose you could just call them irrelevant, like the old testament passages where God commands all men who lay with men to be put to death, and all Athiest cities to be slaughtered, down to the last child.

  • No, they are not irrelevant.

The Old Testament where God commands all men who lay with men (homosexuality) to be put to death, is talking to the people of God, in God's cities/camps.

All Atheist cities: God knew that they were planning to attack God's people. So, He told them to wipe these evil people out, so that they would not attack and affect God's people. God knew what these evil people where going to do, and He stopped them. God knows all things.

  • Oops! I was reading the wrong book! :(

Exodus 34:10-28 is just expanding (or explaining/magnifying) on the Ten Commandments.

  • That's what I though at first. But most of the commands are very different. Worship no god but God Don't make idols Observe the feast of unleaven bread Sacrifice firstborn animals to God Don't work on the Sabbath Observe the feasts of first fruit and gathering Don't offer blood sacrifices with unleaven bread Don't let the passover sacrifice remain until morning Give God the first fruits of the harvest Do not cook a goat in its mother's milk.
  • These are stated to be the ten commandments, yet they mention nothing about not lying, stealing, killing, commiting adultery, etc.

    Quite a revision.

  • I believe it is just mentioning some of the Ten Commandments and the Mosaic laws together.

  • Waittt another good point is if god just created man and woman and they didnt die to become angels how is there a satan?! Wasn't satan Lucifer but was banished to "Hell" because of some bullshit i won't pretend to know!?

  • Satan/Lucifer is a later addition to Jewish mythology. The serpent is traditionally, but erroneously, identified as an evil entity but actually is nothing more that a crafty talking snake. Quite literally.

  • Freakin' subscribed.

  • ugh, the boring "robot" defense...ok...go watch my "free will vs god's will" video and get back to me.
