I found this for Source and I LOVE it.

I am ashamed that I cannont play it on HL1, but atleast I can play it for HL2. Its a Blast.

Its a shame that people don't make mods such as this anymore.

Last Step under File-Name you will see Save-As-Type go to All-Files as your choice and go to save. Place the Batch-File into your mod and you should be able to load your mod like that, I am sorry for writting so, much on your wall, just trying to help those who are having trouble.

For Example: C:\Users\Alex\Desktop\Sierra\B­ase\hl.exe -game Darkstar. Once copied to Notepad, go to the Top-Header and go to File. Go down to Save-As put the name of the mod in, do not try not name it anything else it has to be exact or else it won't work it's stupid and annoying I know. Once you put the name of the mod in for example Hunger make sure to put the extension in. Hunger.bat

So, far the easiest way of making the mod run is creating a Batch-File. First find where your folder is located, it is best to save it in an open space like Desktop. Right-Click on the folder and go to Properties where in General it will say Location: this is what you need to save to Note-Pad.

When the computer scans it, it still detects a virus, I don't think this file has a virus it might be a little bit damaged, but I have found a way to make it work. When you download Heart Of Evil 1.0.2. do not change the name of the file it's really finicky like that I tried doing this with Afraid Of Monsters and the files would not open if I changed the name.

Just to let you know my Virus Program was picking up a virus when I was running it. The virus scan was removing the files that it needed to run, one mistake and my virus program has to make a big problem for me. Seems to be working so, far thankyou much appreciated!

I can make it run if I got to Scripts and remove both the SurfaceProperties_Manifest and the SurfaceProperties_Half-Life 1/hl1, but everything comes up as checkered.

For some reason the game freezes when I try to move and I am also stuck on the bed. What I don't understand about this game is, why did they make it run with both the Half-Life Source Engine and the Half-Life 2 Source Engine.

@TheMegatonBomb I think the original creators only made the Half-Life 1 version. Then fans ported it to Source. Then other fans made the Napalm Edition in the Half-Life 1 engine again. Go figure. :P

The original is better. Features of the Napalm Edition: - snazzy textures / models - worse vocal performances - Barney is a jerk - new, unfunny jokes - no firing squad in the opening - no Flight of the Valkyries helicopter ride! - first village isn't on fire - no scene with helicopter fighting natives - added scripting bugs And this is all in the first fifteen minutes. Unless you love snazzy textures / models beyond reason, Napalm Edition is not nearly as good.

I wasn't clear. I meant that Napalm Edition has snazzy textures / models, but that those things couldn't make up for all the other problems.

do you need anything else but half-life maybe opposing force becuase it gave me some error saying something about a libary failure or etc.

You shouldn't need anything else. I don't have Opposing Force, Blue Shift, or even Half-Life DeathMatch installed.

You may need to update your Half-Life installation. I did a quick google search and some mods have trouble running on older versions of Half-Life.

Nobody's Half-Life has that. :)

If you're using Steam, you have to shut down Steam and restart for Heart of Evil to show up in the games list. Otherwise it's a little more complicated.

The easiest way is probably to go find the Half-Life executable (hl.exe). Right click on it and choose Create Shortcut. Right click on the shortcut and choose Properties. Add "-game evil" to the end of the Target command line. Provided you installed HoE to the right place, that should do it.

I'm not sure. You might try switching renderers and / or resolutions in the video options.

Also, there's an official list of bugs on the Heart of Evil web site. Just google for heart of evil bugs.

Well, I found the error: I had to enter via steam, otherwise, it would get out of the game...but then a problem occurred:

It wasn't entering on half life! I deleted the folder and reinstalled HL1...I won't reinstall Heart of Evil again so soon!
