Well the profile in size large did not fit me right. It's hard to quantify exactly what was wrong on the internal shape, but the fact that my nose barely fit inside the helmet was my first clue. My nose was actually hanging over the top of the breath guard! Even the size medium shoie rf-1100 didn't have that problem.
Does anyone really have a long oval head shape? I've taken my head shape, as well as my wifes. My head is a large egg shape. Meaning it is longer front to back by 6cm, but it's also wider towards the back than the front. My wife has a small, perfectly oval head. So with an egg shape head, what Arai helmet would be the best fit? These high end helmets should show a picture of the shape with dimensions. I couldn't find any Arai helmets, not even at cycle gear.
@mooosestang We have a lot of customers with a long oval head shape! You should check out the RX-Q or the Vector 2 for a more neutral internal shape. Thanks for watching!
@RevZillaTV I thought the RX-Q is for more round heads? My head is the shape of the My melon shape in this picture, but more narrow towards the forehead. The problem with all these head shape terms is no one says how much longer front to back does a head have to be in order to call it long oval? My head is 59cm around and 21cm front to back and 15cm side to side at the widest point, which is towards the back.
@Flash8475 Unless you just absolutely threw it down, I'm guessing it should be fine, but I'd look at getting a new one after a couple of months. Take it to your local dealer and have them inspect it.
Excellent, detailed review. Well spoken, not filled with hyperbole, just a really informative review. That dude could sell ice to an Eskimo. Definitely knows his stuff. Thank you!
@Patriotvb Yes, you would be able to fit a Cardo G4 or Sena SMH-10 in there without a problem. The ear pockets are deep enough, and you can either clip or stick a unit on the side of the helmet as needed.
hey, Anthony: Arai helmets have been infamously known to have their rubber lining/beading (surrounding the circumference of the helmet's base) peel off and drop, whether due to exposure to rain, or after a period of usage, etc. I had a new Renegade which unfortunately had that happen, with barely a few months of light usage. I've also heard from various other riders and read some first-hand reviews regarding this issue too, even on the higher-end models. Is this problem still prevalent? Thanks!
@psychedelicfunkymonk Yo Psych, while I am aware of the issue in earlier model years Arai, I have not heard any flak about it in a long time. Nor have we seen any come through as warranty in easily the last 12 months.
I know a lot depends on fit, but is this a good beginner helmet? I know Arai is top-end, so I don't know if it's meant for noobs.

@Shoosta92 It's all about fit and safety. Doesn't matter if you've been riding for 10 days or ten years!

Hey, I dropped my helmet off of my bike, is it still good, or do I need to bin it?

Does this helmet have room for a com system? I want to be able to communicate with my rider.

@RevZillaTV
So I have a choice to put it all internal or does something HAVE to be outside the shell?
Patriotvb 10 months ago
@Patriotvb Currently there is no model which is completely internal for the Arai. Most times the controls are on the external piece.

I did have it come apart on my last 2 helmets but my current 2 are holding up. Bought 1 year ago, and 2 years ago.
