Years ago had a similar problem, my gerbils freqently would escape out of there rotorstak cage, one even went behind our boiler and ended up with singed whskers :< andthey chwed anything in there path way!

My friends hamster escaped 6 months ago, and they still can't find him!

i know someone who lost their hamster, then around half a year later, when some work was getting done on their house, they found him in a nest he'd made somewhere behind the walls or under the floor or something. he was fine! :-)
