I used to love this level when I Was little, the cityscape and all that in the background was aweosme.

Until the water rose and my 8 year old mind couldn't comprehend how to be patient enough to jump on the platforms to get out of the water before Sonic drowned xD

I hate this level. So much. It's good in appearence and geography, but I have never gotten passed it in my life. I have had sonic for so long, and yet have never gotten to level 3 of Sonic 2. This level makes me too mad to even look at it.

@shairaptor Nah, it's just this one part..You have to jump on the blocks as they move out the walls while you're drowning. I hate that part. Even as Knuckles I couldn't beat it.

Here's a flub:

The boss in act 2 draws chemicals from the pool below.  However, if you watch, you can see that Robotnik's tank is filling up with BLUE liquid! How can this be?

Unless he's not filling from the lake at all, hes hacking through the platform like a misquito and these ( :04 ) are chemical pipes and not platforms.

that's what i thoguht when i first played it when it came out, i was thinking that from a 3d perspective the yellow platform would be on a rotating thing, like a bracket or ring around the blue pipe, needless to say, i was a bit odd back then... able to think all that, heh, suppose it helped with the books...GOODPIE

@DashB2 How come early Sonic titles "don't have good graphics"? They were unparalleled in terms of detail and level design. Most of the Zones are unique. I know you are comparing 16-bit titles to the current ones, and in overall the modern games suck (not only newer Sonic titles). 16 bit was the crop of the cream. Only those who have been playing games since the 80's/early 90's know that.

@DashB2 sonic 06 was horrible, but sonic from the previous gen (adventure 1, 2 and heroes) were decent games in their own right, just shadow and next gen started to ruin the series.

horrible development is ruining sonic, not the extra dimension.

my favorite Sonic the Hedgehog level of all time. Not only was it like so freaking fast, the multiple routes they put in here was astounding, each one having some special uniqueness from other routes. Sega could really learn a lot from this level.
