A base Fiero, with 4-wheel independent suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes, was only a thousand more than a Cavalier or Corolla which had neither. The MR2 cost half again as much, and. though faster, had an annoying tendency to rust and eat up alternators.
What also did the Fiero in was "piece a crap" dealer service. When they were new, it was optional for dealer mechanics to learn to work on them. A problem brewing?

the funny part about it is that yellow "fiero" is actually not a fiero, its a home built chassis based off the imsa fieros, which apparently only had 4 in existence. look up imsa fiero and pick the first one with the cardomain url, and he explains the entire story of the car. its very interesting, and i'm shocked of how well done a homebuilt car can be, and until i read the story i believed it was a legitimate fiero, just modified.
fiero`s are mean little machines, their style still doesn't look dated and hasn't lost any appeal, pontiac definitely needs to be re-introduced and be what it was intended to be in the first place, affordable performance cars built to last, a new fiero for the 4-6 banger section, charged, and aggressive track tuning, and of course the trans am, rearwheel drive V8 would be all the brand needs!!! c`mon GM, time to grow back some balls.

How big of an engine can you fit in a Fiero for street use? That yellow one sounded like it had a V8. I believe some Fieros came with V6s, but there probably isn't room to fit in a turbo.

Except for the Indys, not very many stock ones left, though. One guy had a completely original red '84, right down to the Eagle GT tires and the legendary and mythical matching Fiero luggage!
It is rather amusing.. The AC Cobra was a small car with tons of HP and it is/was a hit.

However, as it looks like a dedicated drag car, I can imagine some possibly innocent reasons he was driving that way:
1 - He might not have a reverse gear
2 - He might have very shallow steering, so had to cross lanes to make the turn
