I HAVE TO ASK WHAT IS YOUR HAIR TYPE? I JUST STARTED GOING NATURAL AND I KEEP HEARING AND SEEING THE NAME OF DIFFRENT HAIR TYPES. MY HAIR IS KINDA LIKE YOURS ITS WAVY LIKE YOURS. PLEASE REPLY I HAVE TO KNOW THANKS. AND LOVE THIS VIDEO
Will this method work on more tightly-curled hair, such as 3C/4A hair? Has anyone along that texture tried this and it worked great? Because I love CurlyCrazyfulLeah's hair but her curl pattern is more along the 3B/3C texture, which is a bit more looser than my texture. Help. Thanks
Awesome Vid! I am going to try the pick thing! Love the plunking/plopping method also! Your hair looks amazing, and my LittleChick loves your music. Peace!
@TheSistahChick I'm so glad you like my video (and that your LittleChick likes the music) The pick works like a charm! I actually keep it in my purse just in case my hair falls a little flat during the day or if I need a little extra volume.

I love the cut of your hair! I saw you reside in the DMV area and was wondering where do you go to get your hair cut and what type of cut! I'm on the hunt for a stylist!
@excusememiss32 Awe! Thank you! I went to Fiddleheads salon in Dupont Circle (1515 17th St NW # 2). I forgot the name of the stylist, tho. I got a Deva Cut. I've only been there once, but I will definitely be going back. It's so hard to find a salon that specializes in naturally curly hair!
You have perfect curls! I love picking my roots out too, it was really great when my hair was shorter because I could really get that curly fro look, but as it grows it wants to go down instead of up, so its more of the curly bob look, which is cute too, sometimes I miss the fro though...
@brittanync Thanks! It DID take all day. LOL. Notice it was light outside when I started and dark by the time it dried. That's what I hate about air-drying, but I'm just scared of damaging my hair again! Also, I suppose laziness has a bit to do with it too. ;)
Your hair came out very beautiful! Great tips in this video. I'm always trying to get more volume since KCCC leaves my hair kinda flat. I'm always a little scared that too much raking is going to leave my hair frizzy but I'm gonna try it. I do a lot of shaking my hair around violently, lol...that helps volume too. For drying I use a hooded dryer because I hate to diffuse. If you sit under a hooded dryer backwards with your hair flipped upside down....lots of volume!....
@Hunnydukes I know what you mean about KCCC. I think the key is to use less of it. At least that's what works for me. I tend to be a little heavy-handed with it and it turns out crunchy on the first day (but second day hair with KCCC is always awesome!). I never thought to try a hooded dryer for volume! Hmmm...
Great video and great results! I most recently switched from the sheamoisture hair smoothie to the zipporah hair serum and hair butter and the moisture is crazy however, there's not alot of hold. I'm gonna try applying the eco styler over the hair serum and butter on my next wash n go the way you did in the video. Thanks Leah!
@watchfuleye2008 Well, I think MJ's gives the best results (although it's filled with all the 'bad stuff'), but Kinky Curly comes in a close second. I'm still getting the hang of Shea Moisture, so I can't make a final determination on that yet. I think it depends on your hair texture. The more curly your texture, the heavier the product can be and still get volume. But looser curl patterns may need something lighter.
AMAZING ! you have the air drying down packed it seems :) I noticed in an earlier video you didn't care for air drying b/c of how long it took to dry .... what made you change recently to air drying again?
@Shemsa08 Well, I've actually been heat-free for the past couple months (with the exception of some occasional curl-stretching). I'm still not a big fan of the time it takes to air-dry, but it sure beats heat damage (been there, done that). I accidentally damaged my hair diffusing once and never went back.
I usually just designate 2 days a week as "air-drying days" and just deal with it. I don't know what I'm gonna do when the winter gets here, tho! Wet hair in the winter? I dunno...
Picking!!!??? wow I do everything but that now....have to get a pic asap
