there was a commercial where they streamed their computer screen right to their TV. I looked everywhere and there is no guide or tutorial how to do that...is it throught windows media center...PLZ HELP!!!
just installed windows 7 yesterday and since then all my wireless devices will not connect. can you PLEASE help me. i tried turning off homegroup and that didnt help.
Nice Feature on win 7 BUT im having trouble connecting.
i got 2 PC with win 7 i do the setup it give me the code/password i then go to the other PC to do the settings but it doesn't as for the code/password neither i get the join choice.
What am i doing wrong? I got both PC running win 7 and (wired) to a router.
@newnoldschoolgaming This drove me crazy too...what they fail to tell you is that both or all computers need different names. I would get create home group on each pc...never join. When most people set up a pc/laptop they don't name them individually. I changed my laptop name to acer and it picked up the network straight away...took me ages to figure this out.
@masterbrice You wont be able to use these HomeGroup specific features, but you can still network and share files. Hope this helps and let me know if you have more questions. Thanks!
@iKhan209 That's usually caused by trying to make changes to an account without having admin access. You should head over to the Microsoft Answers forum where they'll be able to help you get some solutions:
what happens when you get the message 'homegroup encountered a error' and no explanation as to why, its not that simple is it microsoft? how about you sort your software out
is there a way to share a printer connected to a vista pc with a laptop running windows 7? i have been having dificulty setting this up. any help is appreciated
Sorry, but the HomeGroup features are limited to Windows 7 and you need at least two Windows 7 computers to create a HomeGroup. However, you can still setup a classic network and share files.
It would be awesome if it was actually that simple. Unfortunately it isnt. I can see the other pc on the network map, but I can't share anything with it and I cannot connect to either pc's homegroup. No non-windows firewalls, share permissions set, it just sucks.
This just proves that windows is for stupid people. We are all stuck using it because of most business standards. I hate microsoft, but can't get away from it.
Wow, that's great. That's really good. It's a touch screen. The technology is only a few decennia old... But now we added drivers for it in Windows 7, we call it "Windows Touch"!
No it's not the same as a mouse-driver. No it's not just a touch screen. It's Windows Touch, people! Hurray!
My only concern is that how many times did they have to shoot that ad ? I believe that they had to re-do it several times just to get the networking feature to work properly :-) or its much easier with special effects :-) mind you that it was probably was edited with Final Cut :-) Poor microsoft , it thinks that it can beat Macs with their silly features that all of us mac users got use to ages ago!!!
windows sucks. they get viruses and crash. get an imac from apple they never crash can't get viruses because hackers can't get the code. also if ur a windows lover get a mac and put windows on it!! better than any thing ever!!
I must say that I do find these comments quite amusing. @sspoke... Have you used the first official release of Windows 7? You say it's Vista but worse, but what proof do you have? Think of it like this. Vista is to Millennium as Windows 7 is to XP. I wouldn't quite make any judgments on the matter until you try it out.
@Gokusupersayin7... Did you not get the memo about Apple telling people to install Anti-Virus on their Macs because there have been viruses released?
Yeah, my bros have macs and so does my mum, they crash quite a lot, i do love how its so simple though, i dont know why anyone could be sad enough to lie about a OS, lol
Heres the thing. Macs are better for creating things like music and pictures. PCs are more for the people with the basic needs. Macs are also for people who have a lot of money laying around. I can build a twice as fast PC for half as much. O and one thing about windows 7 it is the same as Vista just better graphics and more confusing.
1 mistake I think they are making is a part of the superbar. When you open an application, instead of displaying the name, the button seems to 'pop' out. It's going to create some confusion.
question: the windows 7 beta is the ultimate edition. it has a desktop slideshow feature. vista ultimate supports animated wallpapers, but vista premium doesn't. so my question is, will windows 7 premium support desktop slideshow, or will that only be in windows 7 ultimate?
Is there a "homegroup" name? Like how you setup a workgroup name on previous windows versions? What happens if it's not really a homegroup yet? Do both computers popup with a message saying they've detected another computer and would like to create a homegroup? Which computer determines the name of the homegroup?
will winodws 7 homegroup work with windows xp
