Have been attending games at Williams Arena since I could walk and believe it is the best venue in the entire state. The history and tradition was so great, the U apportioned the other side for the upstart Hockey program in the Thirties.

I guess I dont understand the Sioux fans hatred for the Gophers. It's not a two way street. If the Sioux are in the National Championship I would cheer for them anyday over BU or BC or any east coast school, WCHA pride! Also, we had the distinct pleasure to watch HOLY CROSS beat the gophers on our ice.

season ticket list is much longer than 2 years.....we have been on it for over 10 years now. No sporting event is even close to the atmosphere in Mariucci. No music piped in to make it louder, just the band and the fans! They did play some music one night while playing St Cloud and the whole place just booed until they turned it off. I love it! Ski U Mah Johnny Pohl!

we could add on 10000 and we still would have a better arena. when you walk in, you just are overwhelmed by the history of minnesota hockey. all the hobby baker winners, all-americans, retired numbers, confrence and national championships etc. are on display. basically the entire arena is a mural and tribute to gopher hockey. and it's only for hockey. we dont share it with our basketball team

Awesome video. No surprise the guys who moved on to the pros come back to train and work with the current players. There's a deep level of commitment and pride in U of M hockey. It also says a lot when you see a guy like Reid take in a game per his buddy's request and get addicted. There's nothing like Mariucci Arena & Gopher Hockey!
