It should also be noted that the "Taliban" and "Al Qaeda," are connected, but NOT the same terrorist entity by an means. Iraq however DID house some Al-qaeda troops, who were by association connected to the 9/11 attacks and an actual threat to our nation, but Iraq was not the breeding ground for Al-qaeda, no that was Afghanistan! We DID invade Afghanistan on October 7, 2001, post 9/11, but Bush didn't find it necessary to focus our forces where the REAL threat was, & instead wanted to disband Saddam, and use Iraq as our Middle East Democratic Genie Pig, thinking it would influence surrounding nations to follow.

Yes there was oil, however this was not the reasoning behind the invasion, and the amount procured wouldn't have made a significant enough of a profit compared to the Oil we already have in our own country. As for the Terrorists, they only came about when Saddam lost power, creating a chaotic power vacuum in which Terrorist organizations thrive. That in and of itself was our fault. Saddam, believe it or not, kept that in check.
