@takfam07 Lol. Reconstruction is different from carving a stone. They should use her real skull if they have it. Nefertiti was not white, or Caucasian. The ppl in northen africa were blk. They didnt start to take on European/ Middle Eastern features until kings from these nations started to expand into Africa. But if you look at American slavery, the slaves that were being brought from northern/western africa were blk or has negroid features. This can only mean two things.

I'm curious. Why do so many blacks invest so much of their self -esteem in the idea of a black ancient Egypt? Obviously it was neither Scandinavian white nor Bantu Negroid. It was somewhere between black and white. But you can tell the black part was more Nilotic, not West African, like black Americans. @IanJar Neandertals ARE alive today, in everyone except African blacks. Everyone else has 2-4% Neandertal genes. (BTW, that includes most African Americans, 95% of whom have an average of at least 22% European blood). I don't know how "great" Neandertals were as a separate hominid line, but they still survived on earth much longer than modern humans have thus far. They were probably quite primitive. But they could handle the Ice Age, that's pretty good.

@terrymtava I don't think the ancient Egyptians were black. They had olive colored skin. If you look at their paintings & stuff on their ancient walls they painted their own skin as light tan. Same with all their statues & busts that were recovered. & Egyptians today have light olive colored skin. That's were Joanne Fletcher went wrong. She went into the tomb with a digital X-ray to scan the mummy's without permission, and then called the facial reconstruction Nefertiti. We know what Nefertiti looks like. We don't need a facial reconstruction of her using another person's skull.

This is the bust of KV35 Kiya. We do no the younger lady is King Tut's mother by DNA match. The most likely person-Kiya. A carefully-conducted 2006 CT scan of the Berlin bust discovered the "hidden face" of Nefertiti and proved without doubt, according to Science News, that the bust is genuine. [Science News 27 April 2009].
Besides, if the bust was a "known fake," the Berlin Museum trustees would not elect to keep it displayed. The Germans have more honor than that. Sorry--Nefertiti was white.

They were a brown, Semitic, Eurasian-looking people. And that's consistent with where Egypt is located in the Mediterranean. But look at the mummies and the art--Egyptians distinguished themselves from black Africans. And their mummies clearly look more Caucasoid than Negroid. Which might mean that the leaders were generally more Caucasoid.

They didnt start to take on European/ Middle Eastern features until kings from these nations started to expand into Africa. But if you look at American slavery, the slaves that were being brought from northern/western africa were blk or has negroid features. This can only mean two things.

Or, this could mean that ppl in Northern and Western africa was and has always been that dark skinned. All you have to do is look at pictures from the time of slavery. I highly doubt that the blkness could have skipped the generations between Nefertiti's era and the time of slavery.

I'm curious. Why do so many blacks invest so much of their self -esteem in the idea of a black ancient Egypt? Obviously it was neither Scandinavian white nor Bantu Negroid. It was somewhere between black and white. But you can tell the black part was more Nilotic, not West African, like black Americans. @IanJar Neandertals ARE alive today, in everyone except African blacks. Everyone else has 2-4% Neandertal genes. (BTW, that includes most African Americans, 95% of whom have an average of at least 22% European blood). I don't know how "great" Neandertals were as a separate hominid line, but they still survived on earth much longer than modern humans have thus far. They were probably quite primitive. But they could handle the Ice Age, that's pretty good.

Same with all their statues & busts that were recovered. & Egyptians today have light olive colored skin. there are only 3 true races of people, black, white and asian... all else falls in the middle... we all come from africa it is the birth place of humans. egyptians were closer to blacks similar to how we call those who are mixed black. just dont try to take all of our history from us we deserve oue legacy other than slavery..black people are more then that.

Did anyone else notice that as Nefertiti morphed, her facial feature slowly became more negroid and during the last three turns her lips doubled in size. Just show the fuken bust of Nefertiti, except for her lazy eye she is quite beautiful to look at and the few times I have been lucky enough to see her there was nothing about her that suggest she could be even part black. She was a typical, but especially beautiful fair skinned Egyptian woman - neither black or white. As Egyptians are today

@tmax45R You are completely correct, It is fact that Africans are the most genetically diverse people in the entire world. The truth is that Somalians and Ethiopians, are different significantly then other Africans. Just look at her straight nose. Obviously she is mixed race. Ignorance on race is commonly related to skintone. Race is mostly determined by ones facial features.

Archaeologists do not like the word “race.” They use variety instead. We are all Homo sapiens. Race is a tiny part of our DNA. Variety is based on breeding. The dog is Canis familiaris. You have bull dogs, collies, spaniels etc. This is based on breeding. They came from the ancient gray wolf. Egyptians were neither black nor white, they were different tones of brown by breeding among several other varieties of people.

Joanne Fletcher has stirred up all this trouble about the younger woman or the older woman in KV35 calling her Nefertiti. She has gone against all the rules laid out for Archeologist in saying anything without scientific proof. She has been banned from doing anymore work in Egypt. The reconstruction is not Nefertiti. The reconstruction was not done correctly. Jane Fletcher is the one saying it is Nefertiti. We have Nefertiti’s bust already that shows what she looked liked.

The Discovery Channel special on Queen Nefertiti, shows the reconstruction of Kiya. The puffed up lips of this size is uncommon. Dr Damian Schofield, from the University of Nottingham, and Martin Evison, a forensic anthropologist from Sheffield University, were responsible for reconstructing the face from digital X-rays of the skull. They seemed to do well. The “skin texture, eye color, and lips” were added by an anonymous “graphic designer.” Bad move. This was ordered by Joanne Fletcher.

@tmax45R This is an add on for this post. You don't use a "graphic designer" to do facial reconstruction. You use forensic specialist who has been trained for that particular job. That's were Joanne Fletcher went wrong. She went into the tomb with a digital X-ray to scan the mummy's without permission, and then called the facial reconstruction Nefertiti. We know what Nefertiti looks like. We don't need a facial reconstruction of her using another person's skull.

egyptians originally have light brown skin... not totally white or black. what's with all this ridiculous fighting? nowadays, most egyptians come in all different colors. I'm completely white but a lot of my family is dark. how'd that happen? I have no idea.
people here need to calm down over this whole race thing. blacks, whites, arabs, egyptians, north africans. all contributed to this world in significant ways and I don't know why we're fighting over who is better/worse.

I don't care what the discovery channel says. This is not Nefertiti. We have her bust, by Tutmose done in her life time. It is staring you in the face. It doesn't take a nuclear scientist to see it. This is the bust of KV35 Kiya. We do no the younger lady is King Tut's mother by DNA match. The most likely person-Kiya. She was murdered after the birth of Tut shown through CT scans that showed hematoma's in her jaw and side. This means killed while alive.
